I am looking for a new graphics card to help with my 1.5GB files in InDesign.

I am getting "Out of memory " indications as my files gets to the maximum number of pages in my magazine. I am guessing that I need a larger capacity graphics card to help during the construction of the magazine. Any thoughts?

I have a Lenovo desktop with win8 and 16GB memory. I have an upgraded graphics card with 2GB memory. I am using CS6. My free drive space is in the 300GB range. I keep all data off line on a 1TB Buffalo drive. I am producing a 52 page color magazine that is filled with graphics and ads (40%). I rarely import graphics files and normally always link them. As I am moving around my file sometimes processing is slow. I have turned off the pre-flight and only use it when I am ready to go to the printer. That helps. I wopuld like to get back to sub-second response time and thought a better performing graphics card would help.

  • Looking for a new graphics card for new display

I recently purchased a 24" LCD monitor to increase my screen real estate. I was anticipating using the DVI connection on the monitor, but found out that the connection I have on the PM G4 Dual 1GHz is an ADC connector instead. Presently I'm using it in analog mode which works fine, but in anticipation of Leopard, I was planning on upgrading my video card (GeForce 4 MX, 64MB VRAM) with one that will support CoreImage, as this one doesn't. In addition, this monitor can pivot to 90 degrees in a portrait orientation, and I would like a card that supports this feature as well.
I tried my PowerBook G4 1.5 GHz with its ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 card, and find it supports CoreImage as well as screen rotation--just what I was hoping for. It works like a charm with the new display. I just need to find out what 4x AGP desktop cards support these features. Any suggestions? I appreciate your input.

As I pointed out on another thread, shopping for something that you don't plan on buying for a while isn't worth while because prices, and models change constantly in the computer parts field.
A good PSU brand : ThermalTake, Corsair, Antec, to name the first three on my mind
    Graphics: PNY, ASUS, Zotac, EVGA
For your case, i'd shoot for a 400-550watt psu, and then hopefully by the time you have enough saved up, shoot for a GTX 430. Solid card, good performance, lower price.

I'm looking to get a different graphic card but I'm not sure really what to buy,

I was wondering what would be a good graphic card that is a good significant upgrade.  I'm looking for one that has a significant increase over what I have right now, it doesn't necessarily have to be the best out there.

Which ones can i use with my computer but without the need to buy nothing else.
    thank you

Honestly I wouldn't spend too much trying to upgrade your computer. It has an aging dual core Athlon processor, and only 2GB of RAM. Even with the highest top of the line card, with that CPU/RAM setup, your computer is probably going to struggle to run it.
Hate to be the bearer of bad news.

  • Any recommendations for a new Graphics card for Prem Pro 2014 (Windows) that offers Mercury Playback Engine GPU acceleration?

    Hi.
I am led to believe I could benefit from GPU acceleration when editing as my PC is a little under spec. I do have a card but when I switch to GPU acceleration it does work but every time I stop moving / playing / scrubbing on the timeline the preview screen goes black.
I am not sure which might be the best card to obtain for my reqs. I dont think I put the biggest of demands on the software but it does still struggle. Most of my editing is 3 - 10 min long interviews. 2 camera multi-cam editing. I invariably have need to edit RGB curves, three way colour corrector, transitions and sometimes Neat noise reduction. Any of those leaves my PC struggling. All the usual titles, music & voice-overs etc but nothing too heavy going like making films or inserting lots of video lines.
I also do an occasional bit of work in After effects too.
    PC spec is:
Intel Xeon CPU 1.86GHz (2 processors)
12GB RAM which I am going to upgrade to 16GB
    64 bit op system
    Windows 7
    Radeon HD 5450 graphics card.
Any guidance would be much appreciated

Thanks for insight. I am not technical but I suspect your right about the base technology of my PC. The processors and RAM (even if I upgrade) are probably too limited. I was not so sure about the relationship between the main processor and the graphic card. I rather hoped that the card would get round the limitations of the CPU's.
I maybe need to invest some time looking in to improving the spec of my PC. Any thoughts on a suitable spec from anyone would be helpful bearing in mind my relatively narrow editing needs.
Even so I will look at the GTX 660 and see what it might offer. The only reason I thought the 5450 might offer GPU acceleration was because the option was available to select in the preferences in PremPro. Figured it wouldn't be an option otherwise. Certainly doesnt seem to work correctly or offer any advantage so gone back to software only.
This is not going to be a quick or inexpensive resolution by the looks of it :-)
    Thanks again for input.

  • Looking for recommendation on graphics card for MSI H67MA-E45 board

This board doesnt have an adjacent psi-e slot, so any card that requires that is out right ?
So the HD 5770 is out ?
Any suggestions ,looking for something at least as good as a GTS 250.But not looking to break my budget either.Would like ,but dont need dx 11support
    Thanks for any help .

Some of these cards list as- Required Peripheral / Interface Device- CD-ROM, adjacent PCI slot...
So all that means is it needs the space an extra slot would take up ,not the actual slot ?Thats seems a very confusing way to say that.

  • New graphics card installation help!!

So today I decided to finally put in my GeForce GTX 750Ti card into my computer. I'm upgrading it from a GeForce GT 545. I was pretty scared and shaky putting it in, as I'm not good with computers (the inner workings, anyway). I managed to slot it into the graphics card slot, and it felt tight and secure, yet when I plugged it in and everything, I get to the basic HP startup screen "Welcome press esc for startup menu", and then it just sits there, and after a few seconds a beep occurs.
I'm pretty sure the card works with my computer. Specs are here: http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/kb/docDisplay?javax.portlet.begCach...
So I just took it out and put in my old graphics card and it booted fine. So did I put the card in wrong or something? I read something about the BIOS, but I really don't want to mess around with the BIOS and screw up or alter my computer in any way. Maybe I didn't seat the card properly? I'm just too nervous to retry putting it back in.

    Hi,
Most on the NVIDIA GTX 750 graphics cards expect at higher level PC BIOS as compared to that which is implemented in your PC.  Try one of the below graphics cards that have a switch to allow the card to function in legacy and UEFI mode.  Your PC needs a graphcis card to support legacy mode.
MSI NVIDIA GTX N750 TI and the MSI GTX N750 TF
If the above graphics cards fail to work the try a NVIDIA GTX 660 or any of the other graphics cards that are listed on the PC's specifications page.
    HP DV9700, t9300, Nvidia 8600, 4GB, Crucial C300 128GB SSD
HP Photosmart Premium C309G, HP Photosmart 6520
    HP Touchpad, HP Chromebook 11
    Custom i7-4770k,Z-87, 8GB, Vertex 3 SSD, Samsung EVO SSD, Corsair HX650,GTX 760
Custom i7-4790k,Z-97, 16GB, Vertex 3 SSD, Plextor M.2 SSD, Samsung EVO SSD, Corsair HX650, GTX 660TI
    Windows 7/8 UEFI/Legacy mode, MBR/GPT

  • Looking for a good graphics card for World of Warcraft

I've been looking around these forums and it seems like the consensus is to go with the ATI HD 4870. I'm more a fan of NVidia, but if it works it works.
I have a first gen mac pro and just want to confirm that the ATI card will work on my machine. Right now I'm still using the stock (6800?) card and WoW doesn't look all that great at it's optimal settings on a 1900x1200 display - I'd like to maximize the settings as much as possible.
I am completely open to any other suggestions though. On the side I do some graphical work with Maya and Photoshop so any new card should certainly help out with those as well.
    Thanks,
    Adam Lawton

To this list I would add:
    Radeon 2600XT
    Nvidia 8800GT EFI32 version
You must purchase the Mac Pro version of these. With the 8800GT, it needs to be the EFI32 version for 2006/07 Mac Pro.
Sadly, neither the 2600 not the 8800 are easily available new. (at a reasonable price) EBay or your local Craigslist (in big city)

  • Need advice for a new graphics card

Hey this is my first time posting here. I've got a Power Mac G4 MDD 1.25GHz with the original ATI Radeon 9000 Pro. I just recently tried installing Final Cut Suite 2 and found out my card isn't good enough. I've tried doing some research into what I need to buy, but have been rather confused. Any recommendations? I need to run the newest Final Cut. Thanks!

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Retail card options are limited to two ATI Radeon cards. The current 9800 has the most capable graphics processor unit (GPU) but only 128MB VRAM. The 9600 is a little cheaper and has 256MB VRAM to make up for a slower GPU. Still, both cards are more capable than the 9000.
I find the Mac specs on the ATI site confusing and sometimes outdated since being absorbed by AMD. Frankly, one of their resellers, Other World Computing, does a better job of showing current ATI specs than ATI. The two cards are listed on this page:

  • Looking for a new Samsung 22-24" monitor with matte finish (no glossy!)

I'm shopping for a replacement for my old 22" Samsung 226BBW, which is slowly but surely giving up the ghost (flickers for about 30 min when turned on from cold). I'd like to replace it with another Samsung, as overall I've had good experiences with them.
This monitor will sit on my desk next to a 24" Samsung 2443BW, which has a matte finish on the screen. I'd really like to replace it with another 22-24" monitor with a matte finish, both for consistency and personal preference.
I've done some research, and my current favorite is the S24B350HL, but I can't tell from the information available online (bestbuy.com and elsewhere) if this model has a matte or gloss finish on the screen. Could a sales associate (or owner of this model) clarify this for me?
If that model has a gloss finish, I'd welcome suggestions for comparable Samsung models with a matte finish. Preferably around $250 or less, LED backlit with 2ms response time, 1000:1 or greater static contrast, and 250 nits or greater brightness.
    Thanks in advance!
    Tim

    Thanks for the reply!
But are you saying that a "matte" finish would have the anti-glare coating, and a "glossy" finish would not? Or is it the opposite? Because on best buy's site, the S24B350HL (SKU 5523073) does NOT have an anti-glare coating, but 4835351 (which you recommended) does.
    Hope I'm being clear.

  • Looking for an Acrobat X Pro to help with file

I have an order form that I created in Acrobat X.  It has simple javascrip to calculate the price total for each product, a sub total half way through, and a grand total at the end of the form.  The first 2 calculations seem to be working fine, but the grand total is not calculating automatically.  It works, but only when a product is actually orderd on the form below the subtotal.
I am hoping to find someone who can look at the form and the code and figure out what's wrong.    This is my first project w/ Acrobat X and my first experience with javascrip.
    Anyone interested?

I'd be happy to take a look. You can email me at: acroscript at gmail dot com

    Thanks!

    Hi,
Apple Store ATI 5770 - ONLY card being sold. $249 and works in 10.6.5 in all Mac Pro models.
I was very surprised to read the above, because both the HD 5770 and HD 5870 cards are available from Apple's UK Store.
So I have just checked Apple's USA Store website, and both cards are currently available from there too:

  • Compatibility with new graphics cards for CS6

    Hi,
I'm a video/photo editor and I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card to one with mercury playback.  I noticed on Adobe's requirements page that cs6 only supports the geforce gtx 500 series but I want to upgrade to something more recent like the geforce gtx 700 or 800 series. I'm wondering if I upgrade will adobe automatically support it or will I have to go into adobe's coding and add it in?
