I am sick of this...It even does it with loggin in on their own site! When opeing a site(from email or bookmarks) I get to the site an attempt to login, but the next page won't load
For instance, I was trying to pay bills and either the site wouldn't load further than the log in or if it did, the next page loads but gets stuck & won't go further.
How can we try to help you when you haven't given us any pertinent information about your problem?
Which version of Firefox? Do you have any addons installed? <br />
Which websites are causing that problem for you?
What firewall program or security suite are you using?
Right now, all we know is that you are frustrated and unhappy with Firefox, and that you have WinXP as your operating system.

I looked at some of the suggested fixes and did click on Extensions then back to Add-ons, but still won't load. I also un-clicked so that add-ons aren't automatically updated, but it still won't load.
First, if the active category on the left side of the Add-ons page is '''Get Add-ons''', click '''Extensions''' to bypass whatever is loading and go directly to the area likely to have the toolbar. (I think it's loading a page of popular add-ons, which isn't very relevant to what you want to do.) Does that work?
If that doesn't work, you could try disabling all add-ons first and see whether that makes a difference. You can do this using Firefox's Safe Mode dialog.
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [[Backing up your information]]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, restart Firefox in Firefox's Safe Mode ([[Safe Mode]]) using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the Safe Mode dialog, check just the box to "Disable all add-ons" then click Make Changes and Restart. Does this allow you to access the Add-ons page? -
My Ipnoe 3gs said it had updates when connected to my laptop, so Ihave let it back up then clicked update. It would not update and said it had an unknown error. Now it is trying to restore but it has been plugged in restoring for over an hour and nothing seems to be happening. Can anyone help?? Please,
Try putting it in recovery mode:

If you can't put it in to recovery mode, try using DFU mode (which is basically recovery mode with iPhones having more serious issues):

If it does go in to recovery mode but you are still having this issue when restoring it, try it on a different computer.
It is good that you let it back up. After it restores to factory settings, you can then use itunes to restore it from the backup and get your goodies back:

Wifi with Login pop up or page won't work most of the time
Free wifi with login areas don't work anymore on my machine after a couple of uses. I haved used them in these locations before and know the signal is strong and they are working and other people are able to connect. What happens is the login window or page won't load after a few times. I"ve tried several things after reading throgh several disscussions with this and no success.
1. I tried making a new wireless location and a new dns. Dosn't work.
2. I tried spoofing my my mac adress (dosn't work)
3.Clearing out all the cache and system files using onyx (this worked at first and after a restart I would get the login window but now no longer works)
4. Referesing the browser and or clearing cache and restarting (dosn't work)
5. I tried disabling the fire wall and making sure all the java and browser pop ups are open.
This is a huge problem as I work from home as a web developer and designer but have to wait anther two weeks for internet at home and can't use the free wifi. My cell service barly works in my appartment but barley and is costing a fortune. Any help on this issue would be greatly apreciated. Apart from buying a pc I'm not sure what to do.

SNOne of the free wifi services I can use will work if I turn off the ocsp and crl from the keychain preferences. Apparently there apple put this in place and it can cause problems with the pop ups from the free wifi services. It still only works with one of the free services with this disabled and apparently opens up security issues.

i want to turn my macbook air off. the shut down button already appeared but the mouse/cursor just hang and won't work. even after pressing the enter button to shut my mac off won't work. what will i do?
This is not a reply. I just want to elaborate on this problem.
My computer freezes occasionally when it is used after being sleep for a while. The spinning ball appears and everything is totally disabled. Nothing on the keyboard works.
The mouse moves, but does not work.
The only solution is to turn the power off and on (losing all data in open applications.)
I kept the System monitor running on the side to find out which program was running when the computer froze. The Monitor as well as all other applications froze, but the data showed:
Firefox 18.4%
Activity Monitor 0.9%
Firefox Plugin 0.2%
This is all the information I have. By the way, I am using iMac with OS 10.6. -
Php page won't load but will in while testing
I have created a php page that connects to a db. While in
dreamweaver I can test the page and see the db content but can't
view the contents of the page if I got to the page via the website
www.mysite.com/testpage.php.
I have uploaded the connection files and the test file with
dependent files but the page won't load. Also I noticed that using
virtual for the php command doesn't work so I use include <?php
instead.
Since I can see the db contents via testing the page but
can't when viewing the page via www.mysite.com/testpage.php.
Can someone help shead some light on this??

I removed the following from the PHP file and I was able to
get the page to load...
So what doctype should I be using??

Dreamweaver uses virtual() if you have set your site
definition to use
site root relative links. Unfortunately, virtual() is
supported only by
Apache, so the fact that it doesn't work indicates that your

When using the iPhone with the Windows OS, you need to have the Apple Mobile Device Service running. It should start automatically when you start the computer, but sometimes things happen. Use this support document to try and restart the service. See if that helps.

WRT54G Wireless Setup page won't load and other issues.
Well I have had quite the mess the last 24 hours. I'll start from the beginning and attempt to spell out the issues I am having. I have had this router for 4 years or so and have never had a problem.
I recently purchased a PS3 and started using the wireless feature that it offeres. Well I was having problems staying connected and was running in to IP address conflicts with my laptop. So I thought I would cure that by moving the router to the ps3 and using a wired connection for its internet. So that is what I did and that is when the problems started snowballing!! After I got the router moved and everything set up, all seemed well at first.
Shortly thereafter I realized I was still getting IP conflicts. So i did some research and saw where I could dedicate an address for the ps3 and also change some of the wireless settings on the router homepage. I previously had never password protected my network. I'm in a rural area and there aren't many people around that would be trying to get on it. But I figured since I was there I would rename the network and password protect it and all of that. Well that didn't help either. I was still having problems.
I then did all of the resets. Online, on the unit and also a power cycle. So I was back to square one with the settings at this point. So today I noticed that my connection would go from its norm of 54mbps down to1 and then lose connection. I did the resets and restarts and all of that, to no avail. Then it got to the point where it wouldn't connect at all. I checked the actual connection by connecting my computer directly to the modem and it worked flawlessly. So I know it is a router problem. I also tried using 2 seperate laptops and they both responded the same.
I think part of the issue I had then was that the modem and router were on my entertainment center and weren't very high and were in a shelf. Also, my surround sound receiver does use a wireless connection to 2 of its speakers. I didn't know the proper placement of a router until I had this problem. Now that it is back in its previous location the connection seems to be normal, although once in the last hour I did drop down to 1mbps and have to disconnect and reconnect. But it hasn't happened again so far.
However, I am unable to access the wireless page on the router setup page. I did yesterday but it won't load today. On either computer. So I am unable to change the name of my network or assign a password or change any other wireless setting. And again, I've tried every reset method and it still don't work.
Also, does anyone have any advice on the conflicting IP addresses with the ps3? They sent me an email stating that it may be a port or firewall issue? After doing some online research it seems this particualr router has had a lot of problems getting along with the ps3.
I hope I haven't put in too much information but I was just trying to make sure I had any questions I could think of answered ahead of time. I've tried about every avenue I could already. I tried the chat help and was told I didn't qualify and was sent to the phone assistance who after a half hour realized I didn't qualify for that help either. So, here I am!!! Connect the computer to the router with the Ethernet cable.
Download t he latest firmware from Linksys website and save it on your computer.
Open the setup page of the router. Go to Administration tab and click on Firmware upgrade sub tab. Browse the firmware file that you have already downloaded and upgrade it on your router.
After upgrading the firmware on your router, it is recommended that you should reset the router and reconfigure it. Press and hold the reset button on the router for 30 seconds. Release the reset button and wait for 30 seconds. Power cycle the router and reconfigure it.
Change the MTU size on the router to 1365.
Go to Wireless tab and change the wireless network name and channel to 11. Also change the wireless security settings. -
Certain Web Pages won't load for roughly 60 seconds
I was tempted to put this in the 'Safari' section, but after a little more trial I thought it went deeper than that.
The issue is, for about two weeks now, i'll be surfing the web and then head to one of my commonly visited websites (namely Wikipedia, Google, Huffington Post, and this website) and though I'm fully connected to the internet, the pages won't load and i get the "Server Not Found" noitce.
I don't, however, have this problem with ALL webpages when this is happening to the others. Gmail, Facebook, Mediaite, etc. all have no issue and they work just fine.
Primarily I use Google Chrome as my browser. So the first thing i did was clear the cache to see if it would help, but nothing changed. So i opened both Safari and Firefox and they both suffer the same problem. After about 60 seconds the issue goes away and all things are normal again. About 10 to 15 minutes later, if I'm still surfing the web, the problem may creep back up again. I can't say for sure but I've noticed that this typically happens when I first try to go to those pages after a few hours of not using the net.
When this happens, I've also tried loading these pages on my iPhone and iPad during the 60 seconds and have encountered the same problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Using a Wireless internet connection thru a cable modem.Safari 5.0.1 or later: Slow or partial webpage loading, or webpage cannot be found
