I am trying to get authorisation to use Adobe digital edition, but my book's vendor is not on the list, and hence the password not accepted.
Numbers documents from iOS need Numbers 3.2 on a Mac to open. And Numbers 3.2 requires Mavericks. If you are using Mavericks you can get Numbers 3.2 from the Mac App Store. It will be free IF you have Numbers 2 (iWork '09) installed. Otherwise you must buy it.
Your other option is to send the Numbers file as an Excel file via e-mail to yourself to open with an earlier version of Numbers.

Try Overdrive - it allows for reading of digital books that many libraries use, and I believe will work with ADE.

Question; How do I download Ebooks to my Kobo N416 e-reader using Adobe Digital Editions App ? I have already tried to get help from Kobo Techs but they say the Kobo N416 E-Reader is no longer supported by Kobo and is outdated. No, not if our staff is trained to use the newest Adobe Acrobat (trainings are usually for the newest versions) and uses that to produce forms. Now the files open correctly. But what will be in some months or years? Do people working on Linux do have to print the forms then again to fill in?
So do you recommend that we stop the process of producing electronic forms and stay with paper-fill-in forms? Is that the goal of Adobe? (maybe not so clever for your "financial viability"?!?!? ... ein schuss ins eigene bein?!?!)

Problem copying Epub files to Sony 505 for library ebooks using Adobe Digital Editions.
I am using Adobe Digital Editions to copy library ebooks to my Sony 505 using a Vista Home Premium 64 bit machine.
Adobe PDF files successfully copy and are readable.
However, when a subsequent copy is done for any Epub book from the library the previously copied PDF files change
to proprietary on the 505. They are unreadable and show as one page long. The Epub book is the only library book that is
now readable.
I have all of the latest software on the PC (it is only one month old) and the latest firmware on the Sony 505.
I have also reformatted my internal memory on the Sony 505, but this did not have any affect.
Any suggestions?You could have the issue whereby .acsm files do not get properly registered.

One solution to may issues with ADE2.0 is to use the more reliable v1.7.2,
Try that and see if it helps.
Version 1.7.2, it is a little difficult to find, available on Adobe site for Windows and for Mac.

Install and use Adobe Digital Editions on a computer without internet access ?
Hello,
I have a pair of PCs, one of them, with Windows Vista, has never been connected to the internet since many years. It is used for word processing mostly. I didn't even bother to plug an ethernet cable inside or think about a Wifi USB key, in a way it's better that way, no useless distractions and no security threats.
I want to use that offline PC for work, and it would require to use Adobe Digital Editions on that machine. I downloaded the offline standalone installer from adobe.com without problems, however, apparently, Adobe only accepts us to use the program after we have activated it through internet access.
Does that mean there is simply no way out, and I can't use Digital Editions on my offline computer ?
Would you perhaps know a solution to this issue ?

as this is an adobe DRM protected book you will need to import the book with adobe digital editions to open this book. I USED ADOBE DIGITAL EDITIONS TO UP LOAD THE BOOK TO MY TABLET. HELLP

I have checked and the Adobe Digital Editions is authorized. The library book doesn't expire for another 14 days. These have been the only two suggestions that I have found in other forums. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
I am having this exact issue. I just downloaded a book and went to open it and got this exact problem.
I purchased he book through indigo/kobo edition and paid for it and immediately went to open it and am getting the same error
Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem only mine says Bad Device key after.
Not sure why someone has not answered this question yet...i am using windows 7 and this is how i always do it. Never had this problem before when purchasing a book.

Getting a error when I try to use Adobe Digital Edition
When I try to down load book from e library and we go to Adobe Digital Edition 4.0, , instead of downloading the book, I get the error (error check activation). Both the computer and the KOBO have be authorized to account ([email protected])
If due to some reason, you are unable to deauthorize ADE, follow the below steps:
Mac: Navigate to /Users//Library/Application Support/Adobe/Digital Editions and drag the activation.dat file to the trash.
ADE will be deauthorized now.
Now Authorize ADE again.
Windows:
Choose Start > Run.
In the Open text box, type regedit and then press Enter. The Registry Editor opens.
In the left pane of the Registry Editor, locate the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adept
Right-click the Adept key and choose Delete.
In the Confirm Key Delete dialog, click OK.
Your authorization will be deleted.
ADE will be deauthorized now.
Now Authorize ADE again. -

Just upgraded to 10.10.1 yosemite on my macbook pro; downloaded adobe digital edition to read ebooks from library, getting activation server error; started with 4.0, but then tried 3.0 so I could transfer ebook to nook; now cannot open on macbook.
this is more than possible:
-download the acsm file
open in adobe digital editions (the epub will now appear in my documents -> my digital editions
download free programme called CALIBRE
import epub from my digital editions into calibre
click connect/share
choose folder option and browse to your playbook (either wifi or usb)
now select the book and hit sent to device
download any epub reader from app world enjoy free books from your library

I reverted to 1.7.2 because of other issues with v2.0; it has lots of bugs.

I can't use Adobe Digital Edition on desktop 2 or 3 (not active)... it haunts me!
After installing the improved security available for today (HT5281and HT5282), Adobe Digital Edition is not kept in the desktop where I move to use, always returns to the main desktop (Number 1) or go by it self to the active desktop, is a persecution!
I use version 1.7.2 on Mac OSX 10.7.4
Anyone know how to maintain it in the desired desktop?.

N.B. do not attempt to modify the registry without backing it up first; ERUNT is a good registry backup tool. You can also create a System Restore Point, which will contain a registry backup. -
How do I change my device authorisation details in Adobe Digital Editions?
I recently changed my email and have updated my Adobe ID but Adobe Digital Editions still holds the old ID and doesn't seem to give me an option to change. There are no instructions or FAQ's about the issue - only how to set an ID etc up. The only thing I've thought is to delete ADE from my computer and reload it, but I don't want to lose the books I have on there already....

Go to Library view mode
Press Ctrl+Shift+D
To Authorize:
Press Ctrl+Shift+U
