I am trying to install itunes on my computer and the bar is not loading or moving at all. (it's been like this for about 30 minutes)
I already have itunes on my computer but i just went to the apple store and they helped me download iOS 7 on my phone but my computer says i need a newer version of itunes to be able to sync my phone. i went to the apple website and started to install itunes and it says its "processing additional packages" but the bar has not moved or even shown up at all and it has been like that for about 30 minutes.
i have the same problem, i have a windows 7 and the little screen comes up saying statues: processing additional packages help us

I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:

First time I'm trying to access the Apple Store on my iMac and for the last few hours I have a message in various languages saying it is being updated.
It is down the world over. Apple is announcing new iPhones (and perhaps more) today at a press conference near Apple HQ in California USA at 12:00 o'clock noon, Pacific Day-light Savings Time. You can expect the Apple Store, updated with the new products, to come back online shortly after the press conference.

I'm trying to install iTunes on my computer running Windows 7 Home Premium. I'm not sure if iTunes is compatible with my computer operating system because when I try to install it, it says the installation is completed but it says there was an error so it won't let me get itunes! Natalie.I just tried running the Lenovo Hard Drive Quick Test both in normal mode and in safe mode. Both times it indicated a failed read test on the HDD. The last two tests also failed. I forget what those tests were called.

A broken Windows Modules Installer then. It's a bit of an involved fix getting past it, but we've had success here with it in the past.
First, I'd strongly suggest setting up a system restore point.
Now try the Scenario III treatment from the following document:
Windows Update Error 80070424 in Vista
Head back into Windows Update and attempt to get updates again. If they still fail, this time with an 8000FFFF error code, try the following Microsoft document:
Windows Update error 8000FFFF
If you get Windows Updates flowing again, stock up on any you're behind on (restarting the PC when requested to do so). This may take some time and may have to be done in several batches, depending on how far you've fallen behind. Basically, keep going back to Windows Update until it stops offering you new updates.
After the updates have been installed, restart the PC one more time (in order to ensure that any pending installs requiring a restart have been resolved).
Now try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the 0x80070424 this time? -
i am trying to install itunes on my computer which is running windows 7, sp1, 64 bit. i get the message 'THIS INSTALLATION PACKAGE COULD NOT BE OPENED.VERIFY THAT THIS PACKAGE EXISTS, ETC'. any ideas how to fix?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if Apple Application Support won't install normally. You could try this approach first.

I have Windows 8 pro on my computer . I un-installed itunes on my computer to re-install itunes 7.1.1 Now the system will not allow the re-install. Can anyone help?
I have an HP Officejet Pro 7580 similar to the 8600 you have and after upgrading to Mountain Lion it wouldn't work. HP support site said download updates for Mountain Lion from App Store not their site so I went to software update but there were NO UPDATES FOR 10.8. Tried a million things and could not get printer to work. So I restored back to Lion figuring at least printer worked then only now I can't get it to work with old settings either. I am sick to death of claims by Apple and peripheral manufacturers that everything is compatible all you have to do is get updates well in this case THERE ARE NONE TO BE GOT and I don't have time to **** about trying to find 'work arounds'. There shouldnt be a need for work-arounds. Unless the updates are ready DONT release the new OS. You shouldn't have to be an IT tech to make basic things like printing work. I see also the HP 8600 is even sold by appstore so there is no reason why it shouldn't work with minimum fuss.

NEVER begin before you have a backup, ideally one you have tested and know works.
You don't really install Boot Camp, the Assistant is a partition tool utility.
You may just want Office 2008 for Mac.
If you need Office for Windows, perhaps run Windows in a VM like Parallels or Fusion.
Buy some backup drives and start using TimeMachine for one backup, then weekly backup with SuperDuper.
IF there is now a partition for Windows, all you need is to buy Windows, and I would recommend Windows 7 Home Premium (retail) which is about US$149.
Has nothing to do with free space. Office 2010 isn't to boot from. In fact, you can copy the disc to a folder (1.25GB) and run SETUP from there.
