I am trying to reinstall itunes and it tells me that my old bonjur softhwhare and appel update softwhare can't be removed

I logged on to my computer this morning and itunes was gone. i have been trying to reinstall it all day. i removed all of the softwhare like it says on the support page. when i downloan the newest version of itunes during the install wizard it tells me that my old bonjur and apple update softwhare can't be removed and it doesn't install itunes. help

But when I am trying to reinstall iTunes, it keeps telling me that I cannot because I have a newer version of Quicktime installed.
That's usually caused by damaged QuickTime installation configuration information on the PC.
Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any QuickTime entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly now?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376
    Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
    Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
    Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
    Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.
    Best of luck,

  • Tried to reinstall itunes and got apple application support not found. i have a folder on my desktop of apps removed during a refresh and all my apple stuff is in that folder.

Im running windows 8 on my desktop. i tried to reinstall itunes and when i open it i get the following message " Apple Application Support not found, Apple Application Support is required to run iTunes". I have a folder on my desktop that has files in it that says Apps removed during refresh and  there is Apple files in there. Im guessing this could be a windows issue but Im not to good with computers. Any help would be great.

    Hello agerveler,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like we may need to do a complete removal of iTunes and its components, followed by a reinstall.  Follow the instructions in the following article to resolve your issue:

Go here - http://www.apple.com/support/mac/app-store/ - and try contacting support. While I still show Lion in my purchases, I can't seem to download it again as I am currently running 10.8. But I made a backup of the install app so that I have both Lion and Mountain Lion installers. If you are able to download it again, make certain that you quit the install app and make a USB flash drive installer or DVD using Lion DiskMaker (which also works with Mountain Lion).
I'm curious as to what sort of problems you encountered when installing ML? Did you make the install? Or did it quit or something?

  • Trying to reinstall iTunes and get my music back...

Hello, everyone... my username is "quillian86" and I'm new to these parts.
    So, down to business...
Recently, I got my computer back after it crashed and had to be restored, so now I have to reinstall iTunes and put all my music back on my computer.
I'm already signed up to Apple using this particular email address (from the first time I installed iTunes on this particular laptop); do I have to sign up for it when I have to download it all over again? I already have an account there.
Also, even though all the music was wiped clean off my computer itself, I still have all the music on my iPod. I've heard that there are programs to make it work in reverse, and have the music on the iPod be loaded onto iTunes. What programs are these? It would REALLY save me the trouble of burning everything to my computer all over again!
    Sincerely,
    Quillian

Just use your backup copy to put the music back on the computer. This is why backups are a basic.
You do not need another account. You can continue to use your same itunes account.
You can do a forum search for software/methods to move music from a ipod. This is addressed every day here.
Zevoneer does a great job explaining the options.
The forum search bar is on the right side of this page.
    Hope everything works out.

  • What can I do when I'm trying to reinstall iTunes and I'm being told that the old bonjour file can't be removed eventhough I managed to remove the bonjour folder?

Ok - I'm using MS Vista. I wanted to update iTunes for a long time but it always failed because it said something about missing access to the Network where Bonjour is stored. I figured that I wanted to solve this now once and for all by reinstalling the current version of iTunes. This didn't work, because I was being told that the old version of Bonjour could not be removed. Therefore I tried to remove Bonjour and after a long quest I found a way to (seemingly) remove it. There's no more Bonjour folder in my Programm Files. Anyway - I tried to install iTunes again and it didn't work. It told me that there was still the old Bonjour that could not be removed.
I'm at my witts end. I'd really like to use iTunes, especially since I also own an iPhone.
I'm thankful for your replies and send you many greetings from Switzerland!
    Marco

  • Itunes would not open "MSVCR.dll" is missing. I uninstalled and tried to reinstall itunes and got "apple mobilE devicE failed to start" message

itunes woUld not open. I got the message "MSVCR.dll is missing". I uninstalled and tried to reinstall, but got the message "apple mobile devicE failed to start". any help is appreciated.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall press on)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

    hi April!
just doublechecking something. is the download hanging at the initial phase of proceedings? or is this happening after the installation has actually pretty much completed?
if it's at the later stage of proceedings, are you getting a sort of "brief flash of a license screen? or is something else a little different happening?
    love, b

  • I am getting a run time error message when I am trying to reinstall itunes and I'm not sure how to fix it. Can someone tell me what I need to do to get itunes back? Thanks!

I'm not sure how or why this is happening and it has just started...I tried to update and then it would not allow me to open the file at all giving me a runtime error message and multiple windows (because of the help feature). It has been successfully reinstalled but I'm still getting the error message...what do I do?

    Hello, MommaLloyd24.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
Here are the steps I would recommend going through as they should resolve the issue.

  • My iPhone won't restore. It is in dfu mode and when I try and restore I get an error 21 message. I have tried to reinstall iTunes and disable my security and firewalls. No luck apple say send in for a 348 buck hardware reset/fix. Any thoughts.

I am open to trying anything. Until I plugged it into computer I just kept getting a apple symbol then it would turn off every five second it would light up then turn off. I man the boost network and don't live near an apple store. 3 hours away! Would Telstra or Optus shop look at it ? Or should I just send it too Apple and pay. It is 14 months old my iPhone 5

    Error 20, 21, 23, 26, 28, 29, 34, 36, 37, and 40
These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. Use the steps to troubleshoot security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. See the steps under the heading "Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > Mac OS X > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store." If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart.

  • I am trying to reinstall iTunes but everytime I try to reinstall it, it is telling me that I can't because I have a newer version of Quicktime installed. The problem is that I cannot uninstall this, please help.

I have just purchased an iPhone 4, but it wasn't connecting to my iTunes, so I took advice and uninstalled iTunes. But when I am trying to reinstall iTunes, it keeps telling me that I cannot because I have a newer version of Quicktime installed. I cannot find this newer version anywhere, and have gotten rid of the Quicktime folder, but it is still refusing to install iTunes.
Please help, I have tried everything.
