  • A prompt from address bar is asking to save passwords for sites. It can be a password manager but cannot remember which one. Firefox seems not to have a way to remove it. Appears only when going to sites.

My problem has now been solved. I have selected the option to save passwords. Later I deselected it. After all, it is a simple mistake made by me. Thanks for the replies sent to resolve this. It simply is a setting in Options.

I have got same issue and I am going to try the last reply in the link below :

  • How can I force Safari v.6.1 to Save passwords for sites that request passwords NOT BE Saved"?

Since the last OS X update when Safari was updated to version 6.1, I am having problems with passwords not being saved from  specific sites that request that passwords "not be saved".
    Example: Adobe.com
I did not have problem with Safari 5.1.
When I go to Safari Preferences and "click on box" "Allow Autofill even for websites that request passwords not be saved", a pop up box opens and refers me to "SECURITY & PRIVACY" indicating that a "SCREENLOCK" must be engged to allow for this action.
    I have my firewall on.
I don't understand what they are requesring me to lock & how to do it.
Anyone who understands what I am being asked to do -or- how I can re-enable password saving, please email me.
    Thanks,
    <Email Edited by Host>

Actually, Linc's reply is EXACTLY the answer that is required.
If you go to the setting he mentions and enable the password after screen saver or sleep, then Safari 6.1 will allow you to save all the autofill login information you like, even the stuff for sites that request not to save them.

  • Firefox v. 8.0.1 does not offer to remember passwords on sites even though I have checked the option to 'remember passwords for sites' - I am not in private browsing mode. how can i fix this?

google chrome DOES ask; mozilla firefox does not.
It has some memorized passwords, but all are left over from previous versions of firefox.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • How do I add "exceptions" to the "remember passwords for sites" feature in Tools/Options/Security?

I like when FireFox remembers and automatically posts user names and password when I go on to most sites. But there are some I do not wish to automatically be posted. However, when I select "Exceptions" within the Tools/Options/Security/Remember Passwords For Sites pathway, all I can do is see the sites that are exceptions. This facility doesn't seem to allow you to add a site (which would then become an exception). Please advise.

Tools > Options > Security > Passwords: Exceptions
Include those that you do not want to save passwords for, such as those regard banks, credit cards, or other financial institutions.
To remove one already created use the "Saved Passwords" on that dialog,
after supplying master password (twice if you view passwords),
:Select the site and use "Remove" to remove the unwanted password.
:Certainly hope you do assign a Master Password to provide some protection to your passwords.
I like that '''about:permissions''' noted by xr417, it does same as above, but allows you to modify something already in system easier. Don't think I've seen that before. Did a search on bank and found an old account/password -- don't even want an old one there.

  • Can't put a site back on to, Options, security, saved passwords.

I'm using; Firefox version 3.6.22 with Windows 7 on a Dell Studio 17 inch laptop.
On the; Tools, Options, security section, saved passwords.
I did have my login for www.walmart.com , in it. It worked fine & loaded &/or signed me in every time. Till today. The walmart.com site is gone from the saved list and even though the "Remember Passwords for sites" is working - it asked if I wanted to save the login info when I just registered to ask for help with this - it did not ask, "do I want to save the sign in, or login, password for this site" when I just had signed into the walmart.com because it didn't do it automatically like usual. Also the walmart.com isn't on the exception list either. But when I login on the site it doesn't ask if I want to save it, and I cant find a way to add it back to the list of sites.
The troubleshooting help for adding a site to the saved passwords list that had been blocked, or "do not ask again" checked, said to check the exceptions list and delete it from there. But the one I want back on the saved list is NOT on the exceptions list.
How can I get this reset, fixed, or what ever, without loosing ALL of my other saved sites UN & PW?
I used to have all my User Names and Pass Words saved with the NORTON security program. But now I cant access them because my NORTON expired. After loosing all of those I don't need to loose these too.

  • An unknown website just appeared in my 'exceptions' list (Tools Options Security "warn me when sites try to install add-ons"-how could this happen?

downloaded Firefox onto friends' laptop last night. Found it necessary to place two websites in the (afore-mentioned) "Exceptions" category. shut down/re-booted three-four times over the next few hours before shutting down the laptop and going to bed. Booted up this am and, WHOA!-suddenly my menu/toolbars have new, undesired toolbars(?) search boxes(?): the search box, if I remember right, was labeled "My Web Search sponsored by iwon!" Whilst eliminating the intruders I became aware that by some unknown means I had fetched up on some webpage I've never heard of and had no reason to go to-( the very top of my display (above the menu and address bar) read: 'reason upgrade Search' (separated by a line symbol I can't reproduce here), then 'Musician's Friend' ....HUH? (feeling like Dorothy w/o a tornado transport). So I finish getting rid of the invaders and check out my History to try to figure out how I wound up at this website. my history indicates the last site I visited before going to bed, then 'aclk' (www.google/aclk? followed by a string of mixed symbols letters etc. Then 'redirect' (www.rkdms.com/redirect?c=....and a string of numbers and letters. Then the website"reason upgrade Search (?) Musician's Friend " then 'redirect.jhtml' (www.search.mywebsearch.com/mywe.........) Them 'Firefox Web Browser& Thunder....' still no clue how or why I wound up at that site..didn't go there, (not of my volition, anyways!!) so im checking my security settings and in Tools>options>Security>advanced> in the "Exceptions" category of "Warn me when sites try to install add-ons" is a website I've never heard of (getpersonas.com) and DID NOT enter!!!!!!!.Need to know how this could happen, how to prevent recurrence and how hard should I hit the panic button because right now I'm totally freaked!
    == today

These prefs get set to an empty String once the sites have been added to the whitelist if the pref is not empty if you open the exception window.
Tools > Options > Security : "Warn me when sites try to install add-ons": Exceptions
You can reset these prefs on the about:config page.
    xpinstall.whitelist.add - addons.mozilla.org
    xpinstall.whitelist.add.36 - getpersonas.com
To open the ''about:config'' page, type '''about:config''' in the location (address) bar and press the Enter key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

  • How to save passwords on sites that don't automatically give you the option to

I enjoy the convenience of saving passwords on my home computers as I usually have quite a few different ones and it can get rather difficult to remember which one goes with which site. I usually don't have a problem as most sites are recognized by firefox and prompt me if I would like to save them. I did find a javascript function that allowed most other sites that firefox didn't automatically recognize to prompt to remember the passwords, however there is still one site using a thing called Single Sign On that I just can't get to remember my password for. This is rather annoying since it is a site I need to log onto multiple times a day and times you out with inactivity. If anyone knows how to get a Single Sign On site to prompt for remembering a password, that would be greatly appreciated.

For some ways around this see [http://kb.mozillazine.org/User_name_and_password_not_remembered User name and password not remembered - MozillaZine Knowledge Base]
Another option is the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/60265/ Saved Password Editor] add-oin which allows you to add passwords for sites that disable password saving.

I am using Indesign cs5 version 7.0.4 with a mac OS X version 10.9.4. I am having an issue where the save and save as option disappears. I am exporting the file as .idml and then resaving to avoid losing work but has to import all the images which takes ages. Any help out there?

I believe there are a couple of similar threads about CC or CC2014 behaving this way that might give yo some hints, but CS5 is not supported on your OS and may not run properly regardless of what you do. An in-place OS upgrade or an attempt to migrate the application would both be major problems for ID, so if you did either of those things you'll want to uninstall, run the cleaner tool (CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3) and reinstall.

It is the same in the latest version 7.0.2. You can shut off the saving and auto filling of passwords by clicking in the menu bar at the top Safari > Preferences and then select Autofill and uncheck the passwords box. Also check the next pane as well.

Thank youIf you are using the same authentication for all your applications, then you can redirect to those applications just same as you redirect to the current app by just changing the app_id
you can use a same session cookie name for all applications and make sure all apps use same authentication scheme
Edit you application A > Shared Components > Authentication Scheme > edit your authentication > Session Cookie Attributes section
set Cookie Name value to somestring
    for example: commonauthcookie
Repeat the above step for all other applications and set the cookie name to the same as above
