I backed my pictures from my phone to my iphoto and my iphoto stopped working

It takes like 5 minutes to load and nothing happens it just says that there was a problem.

What version of iPhoto? Is OS X 10.9.5 as you state correct for your OS? what is he exact error message? What has recently changed?
You can try Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - from the resulting first aid window repair permissions and if necessary rebuild your database

If this is an iCloud account the Outbox only appears when sending an email, so if it is still trying I suppose it should be showing now (not sure though, hard to replicate this)

How can I put a folder of backed up pictures from my iOS device into iPhoto so iPhoto automatically puts them in events (organized by date)?

I have an album of a bunch of pictures collected over the course of two years. They are from my old iPhone, and I didn't have a mac at the time. So on my pc, I just backed all my pictures from my old iPhone into a folder. Now I have a mac, and just like when you plug your iPhone in it allows you to upload them in organized events, how can I do that with folder of images? They all still have the date, so I don't know why it doesn't automatically sort it by date. Anyhow, thank you so much for your feedback!

When you import photos that is what happens - not by months but by the setting you have in your iPhoto preferences

Best if you try and explain what you are trying to acheive.
Iphoto is a different paradigm than you're used to. I don't understand why you are trying to transfer your edited photos back to an external disk.

@Naiks, having suffered through unsuccessful synching attempts for Calendar and Contacts myself, l would suggest you try the following:
UNINSTALL iCloud control panel from your PC. Seems silly, but do it.
Go into Outlook, and look at the very top menu. Click FILE, then ACCOUNT SETTINGS, then click the popup box.
You will see a list of all your email accounts. Make sure that ONE of them has a checkmark against it. If not, select the account your want as your default, and click "set as default.
Exit out of Outlook and reboot your machine.
Now reinstall iCloud, check CALENDAR and CONTACTS, and do as instructed when prompted.
Reboot for good luck and now launch OUTLOOK. All that remains is to locate your iCloud Contacts and Calendar files, and make them your default.
IMPORTANT: Don't panic if you can't find your contacts -- they're there. Click CONTACTS and you'll see you have several available contact files. Locate the one label "iCloud" in grey type. Right-click on it, select PROPERTIES, then click the Outlook Address Book tab. Check the box that says something like "Make this my default Outlook Address Book." Keep clicking "apply" and "okay" until you've exited out of the dialog box maze.
You may have to do something similar with your Calendar files. I dd not, but if you need to, do it.
Everything should now sync pretty seamlessly.
I didn't have the exact same problem as you, but my dilemma was close enough. Good luck!

So my mom got a mac book a while back, and when I purchased my iphone 4 a few years ago I "synched" It to my moms computer, it was perfect I could download songs, movies, etc.But now i have my own laptop! (Macbook air mini) and ive been wanting to be able to use Icloud etc but I dont know how, being that my phone is hooked up to mine AND my moms computer. Not that i have anything to hide but Id rather not have my pictures from my phone be sent to her computer!! Also, when i buy music on my phone, and then go to plug it into my computer it doesnt work/synch! I want to use i cloud too because i dont even have enough storage in my phone to even take a picture! Thanks, Eric. I'm not sure what I should be checking using your suggestion--as I said, I'm an utter novice with the iMac. However, I saw a reference to problems with the Library entries, so I checked mine and the iWork files were missing, something confirmed when I checked the crash log. In desperation, I did another software update, and that seems to have fixed the problem completely. Now wondering if I dare upgrade to Lion!

A while back I had MacAfee installed and it gave me problems so I unistald it but it still continues to not let me downlaod or open any files. My problem today is that I tried to transfer my pictures from my camera to my PC and the PC tells me they can't find my device. I tried everything to find it and nothing seems to work. I have downloaded pictures lots times before. I am confussed. Please help!

In addition, it will also help if you indicate which operating system you are using; and whether your operating system is 32 or 64 bit. The more information you can provide, the better!

Reinstall iTunes. Make sure you follow the instructions in this support document to the letter. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923.
You may have some problems because Apple has not certified that everything works with Windows 8 yet.

I cant seem to open some photos on Iphoto. I downloaded like 3 months ago from my phone into the iphoto. I could access ALL of my photos back then but when I try and access them now I cant seem to open the file. When i open iphoto and open the folder thats on it, i can see ALL the photos that are there but when I click on different ones some appear in the larger screen but A LOT of them dont appear. Iphoto seems to have erased the file or I dont know.
Also I tried clicking on the photo that doesnt appear and making it "Reveal it on finder" - "original file" and it says 'The operation can’t be completed because the item can’t be found.".
I really want those photos because they involve a really special family vacation, please help me find those photos
