I bought a new laptop with Windows 7 and, for some reason, I am not getting Email alerts (I have to manually refresh my inboxes to see if I have any new messages) as I did on all other computers I have used.
My Email accounts are through a local internet provider. What can I do?
I can't think of any way to make the Navigation Toolbar appear/disappear based on which direction you move your mouse.
Well, there is full screen view, where the whole toolbar area including the tab bar slides up off the screen, and reappears if you slide the mouse pointer all the way to the top. (You can use the F11 key to turn full screen view on and off.)
Is it possible this is an option of one of your extensions?

If you want to use multiple devices - move to imap, I would even say "exchange", but Google does not support free exchange anymore, since January of that year. So Ironically Icloud or Hotmail would be my choices right now.

I updated my computer to os x 10.5.8 so I can synchronize iphone with itunes. For some reason computer does not noticed it has been updated. Can anyone advise?

Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
Install the App from the App Store.
Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always. -
I have an iPhone 4 and for some reason I'm not able to update the software. I go to Settings then General but it doesn't even have a Software Update option. Am I missing something?
With iOS 4, the only way to update your software is connected to iTunes. OTA (over the air) updates were not available until iOS 5. You will need to connect your iPhone to a computer and use iTunes to download and install the iOS updates on your iPhone (at least until your iOS version is 5.0 or higher).

I am trying to download the new software for my Iphone the 6.01 iso for some reason it's not working and it's been like this for over 2 months now. it say's that it downloadable but it's not allowing me to do so.
Make sure you have the lattest iTunes installed > hold the power down and the home buttom on your phone at the same time till your phone turns off > turn it back on > plug into your computer > try to redownload and update your phone.
See if that helps.
P.S Holding down your power button and home just soft resets your phone. -
Instead of downloading BIRDS OF STEAL ... I tunes download PROJECT X.. ... I payed 4.99
If you go into the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes, or if doing it on a device then the Purchased tab in the App Store app, does the correct app show there ? If it does then you could try deleting the app from your computer's iTunes library or device and re-download it them there.
If it shows the wrong app in Purchased, or it re-downloads the wrong app, then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that app and use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work (it's been taking some people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page. -
My firewall is just the same as always even BEFORE I had this problem. My Norton antivirus isn't blocking it and I've tried downloading earlier versions with the same problem.
Perhaps try downloading and saving a copy of the installer to a different PC. (If you're on a 32-bit Windows system, try to download on a different 32-bit Windows system.) Copy the iTunesSetup.exe installer to an external hard-drive, or a large-enough thumb drive or burn it to a CD-R. Carry the installer back to your PC, copy the installer to your hard drive. (Don't run the install from the ExHD, thumb or CD-R.) Start the install by doubleclicking the iTunesSetup.exe file.

This is a user to user forum. But I'm sure Apple would be happy to send you a compatible Bluetooth headset if you purchase one from the Apple Store. You could also order one from someplace like Amazon.com.

Did it connect at one point? Does it connect to other wifi hotspots? Did you actually reboot the phone (Hold home button and sleep/wake button together for 10 seconds then let go)? Does the wifi router have the latest firmware from the manufacture's web page? Does the 4S have the latest iOS version?

What do you mean by 'not going through' ? If you are getting an error message then what does it say ?

MyiPod classic won't charge. I just bought a new laptop with Windows 8 and when I plug in my iPod, iTunes will recognize it and sync, but will only charge during the syncing process. Any suggestions?

Ok, if reinstalling iTunes as suggested above does not resolve the issue of iTunes recognising the iPad then try this -
Firstly, make sure that your device is not hidden (left hand pane). If it just reads device then toggle between SHOW and HIDE.
Secondly, try all the other ports on your computer, even a number of times.
Thirdly, make sure your lead /connections are no faulty.
Fourthly, if you have another computer try plugging your device into it without taking any action, give it a moment, remove it and try it back in your other computer again.

As for making your new laptop your 'home computer' follow these instructions -
1. Without connecting your iPad to your computer -
A) Install iTunes / make sure the latest version of iTunes is installed.
B) Go to the Store tab and click on "Authorise This Computer".
C) Go to Edit, click on Preferences [iTunes and Preferences on Macs] and click on Devices. Put a check mark in the box next to "Prevent iPods/iPhones/iPads from syncing automatically". Click OK and close iTunes.
2. Connect your iPad to your computer -
A) Start iTunes (it will not start automatically because of the action at 1(C) above).
B) Right click on your iPad under Devices in the left column. Select "Transfer purchases".
C) When the transfer has completed, right click on your iPad again and select "Backup".
D) When the backup has completed, left click on your iPad, click on the Apps tab, and put a check mark in the box next to "Sync Apps", and then click on "Apply" (bottom right).
E) Unless you want to always do a manual sync (as I do), go back to Edit, Preferences [iTunes and Preferences on Macs] and uncheck the box next to "Prevent your iPod.....".
F) Finally, on your iPad, check that everything is syncing properly. If not, go back to iTunes and check all settings.
NB You should not lose any apps. However, any 'purchased' missing apps can be downloaded again FOC. As with updates, this must be done with the Apple ID under which they were originally 'purchased'.
