• How do I get sound when I record videos on my ipad?

I can record videos using the camera app - however, there is not sound. How do I get sound?

Thanks - this is good to know. I actually ended up going to Google - which took me to Youtube - which showed me my volume button. Oy. I felt sheepish. However, this is on loan to me from my work - and up until now - it has "lived" in a manila folder in my file cabinet. For a first day, I'm doing well.
It's good to know that I can inadvertantly cover the microphone myself. Thanks!

• I don't get sound when I record video, but I do on download video recorder apps

So I tried to record a video yesterday for Vine app, and there was no sound, and I thought that's weird, so I tried it on the normal video recorder app, and no sound. I downloaded a video recorder app, and the sound works on that... so what's wrong with my phone? How do I fix that?

Hello there, Mark.
The following Knowledge Base article offers up some great recommendations for troubleshooting issues with apps downloaded from the App Store:
iOS: Troubleshooting apps purchased from the App Store

In your case you may also want to close all apps that are running during the "Restart the App" step.

• Can I get sound when filming video on Mini iPad?

When I am shooting video with my mini iPad, can I get sound and if so how?

Hi Nitekitty,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Yes, you can get sound when shooting video with your iPad mini. Take a look at the section "Take photos and videos" section of the iPad Users Guide. See page 85 in the following link:

• I can not get sound when using Petville, on Face Book.

I use my room mates computer, sometimes, as it is a desktop, but he owns it, and has an account for me (I have an old lap top). He is away for Government training in California, and I ABSOLUTELEY CAN NOT mess up his settings...but, I do not think I can, because I am not listed as an administrator. I play Petville, as a silly game, to wind down, but, I can not get SOUND, on this computer anymore...don't know why. Sure there is a reasonable explanation. It worked before, now it does not. At one time I clicked on NO SOUNDS in the control p[anel (maybe I do have administrator priveledges)...changed it to Windows default, added sounds, customized it & named it, on my user name-not his. For the life of me, I cannot figure this out-but after clicking this and that, I realized it is something about applications, and what is compatible with Mozilla/Firefox. HELP!

See:
* [[No sound in Firefox]]
* [[Video or audio does not play]]
You can click the Volume icon on the Windows Taskbar near the clock and click the Mixer link at the bottom to open the mixer.
You can adjust the volume level for each application in that window, so make sure that Firefox is not muted or set at a low level.
You will only see the Firefox program in the Mixer if you are on a website that plays sound.
• When I downloaded 4.3 i lost the sound when I record videos

When I downloaded 4.3 I lost the sound when I record videos

That is the issue. FCP works with footage as a Rectangular pixel setting.
Try this little trick and see if it doesn't solve it:

• Can't get sound when connecting my Lenovo N500 to my Sony Bravia LVD HDTV

I've recently purchased a 42inch Sony Bravia LCD HDTV and have been able to get pitcure just fine on the screen, but sound is another thing all togehter... can anyone give me any pointers on getting sound from my Lenovo to my TV?
Thanks.
Joe

One last comment, I've tried using both HDMI (which I prefer)... but get's me no sound. I've also tried to use the VGA but I do believe I would need to use a sound cable as well... Is the HDMI output on the Lenovo N500 just for video at this point?

• I can't get sound when I connect my classic to my TV

I've bought an Apple Comp AV Cable to connect my 80GIG classisc to my TV. After connecting I can only get video and a buzzing sound. I tried rearranging the blue green and and red cables but nothing works. Apple should show which colours correspond to the TV's yellow white and red inputs.

I tried rearranging the blue green and and red cables but nothing works. Apple should show which colours correspond to the TV's yellow white and red inputs.
Blue, green and red are indicative of component connections. Yellow, white and red are not.
You can't connect component from your iPod if your TV does not support it.
If you had a component connection on your TV, the inputs would be labelled blue, green and red to correspond with the cable.

• How can I get sound when running different operating systems in VirtualBox?

I am running VirtualBox in Windows XP, and have been running OpenSolaris, Kubuntu, OpenSuse 11.1, Milax and Windows 7, but I am not getting any sound in any of them. I have no problems with them running, and even ran Windows live in windows 7 without any problems.
I would be grateful if anyone can help me out so that I can get sound, and therefore run them as they are meant to be ran in VirtualBox! I have had a small problem with some video files not running in Linux and OpenSolaris, but I suspect that could be solved with Flash player.
Please someone get back to me and help me with the sound problem as soon as possible,
Thanks
John

A Windows XP host OS for VirtualBox is not a supported setup for VDI 3.0 (it wouldn't even install). I have never seen your problem with one of my other VB installations. I suggest that you repost your question in a VirtualBox forum: http://forums.virtualbox.org/

• Can't get sound from playback of video from curve 8500 series

I video taped my daughter singing. I took it off my phone and placed it on my computer so I could post it online. I don't get any sound when I play it back on my computer using Windows Media Player. It keeps telling me the Network is too busy to playback in original quality, The picture is great but there's no sound. I'll try using Quick Time player but how do I get the sound back. Playback on my phone is perfect, sound and all.

PITT66,
Try doing a cleansweep and reinstall of the sound card. Follow these instructions to cleansweep. After you have finish reinstalling, try the EAX console again

• Can only get sound when "software monitoring" is checked

Working my way through David Nahmani's logic pro 8 and express book. On the second lesson trying to record acoustic guitar. It says to turn off software monitoring under preferences > Audio so the computer isn't picking it up twice, but when I do I get no sound at all in my monitors or headphones. The channel strip still reads and lights up, it will even record, but don't hear it when I'm actually recording it. The guitar tuner only works when software monitoring is checked too.
I'm using logic express 8 my interface is a Presonus Firebox.

Hi,
this advice applies to recording acoustic guitar with a mic and without headphones.
With an electric guitar, or while wearing headphones, software monitoring should be turned on.
Even better, since there's no latency, is hardware monitoring. Some audio interfaces have a knob to select between input and computer output.

• Can't get sound when using M-Audio Fast Track

I'm using Logic Express 8 and just purchased the M-Audio Fast Track Pro interface so I can plug in my guitar and mic to Logic. I downloaded the driver, the device shows up in Logic, I can even record with it, but I can't hear anything on playback! Not only can't I hear the Fast Track, but I can't hear any of my other (software) tracks either. I can't input monitor at all. But, as soon as I unplug the device, suddenly all my tracks are audible again (including recordings that I make through the device). What's going on? I need to be able to hear what I'm doing!

Go in to Audio midi setup and make sure the default input and output are the M-audio devise ... if you have not done so already .

• What should I do if I can never hear sound when I record a video?

Please help!!

Hello, try this...
Safe Boot , (holding Shift key down at bootup), use Disk Utility from there to Repair Permissions, test if things work OK in Safe Mode.
Then move these files to the Desktop for now...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.recentitems.plist
Reboot & test.
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.
Reset your prefs.
