I can't get the ipad to respond after using configurator to supervise, I can't get the ipad to respond after using configurator to supervise

I am updating and adding apps in configurator.  The iPad was working until I added apps.  I will not turn off.  Can take a screen shot; however no apps will open and iPad will not shutdown.

Perform a Reset on the iPad (different from just restarting).
Hold down on both the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds (ignore the red slider button). Keep holding both buttons until the Apple Logo appears. When you see the Apple logo on the black screen, let go of both buttons. This reset fixes a lot of iPad issues and might work to resolve the issue you're experiencing.
Hope this helps!

For a "hard" restart of your iPad just press the home and power button at the same time and hold it for at least 10-15 sec. until it restarts.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

I downloaded the latest iOS7 to my iPad and then the screen went blank and would not respond.   I have tried pressing the two buttons together and briefly get the Apple logo but still can not restart, the logo disappears.   I have tried connecting to my iMac to restore the iPad but the device does not show up (I have an old iMac).   What else can I do?

You need to be running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 at the very least in order to sync your iPad with iTunes so you could update your Mac, if it can be updated, and if you care to do so.
If that's not an option, you will have to find someone that can restore the device for you with their computer running iTunes or make an appointment at an Apple Store and ask them to restore the device for you.
I hope that you have an iCloud backup, because you will lose everything on the device when it is restored.
Snow Leopard can still be purchased in the U.S. Apple Online Store.

Also, I would not give up on the reset technique....holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time until the Apple logo appears. It takes about 10-15 seconds and sometimes just a little longer to get the logo to appear.

I have tried all of the above and still can't get my ipad to respond

Everything? Did you see the very last part about restoring the iPad and did you notice that there is another link in that step in case you cannot restore the iPad?
    Symptoms
Your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch may occasionally stop responding to buttons, switches, or touchscreen input and may exhibit one or more of the symptoms listed below.
    Resolution
If any of these symptoms occurs, follow the steps in this article to resolve the issue. The device:
Does not return to the Home screen after pressing the Home button
Does not wake from sleep after pressing the Sleep/Wake button
Does not turn on (or power on) when pressing any button
    Appears frozen or unresponsive
Is unable to "Slide to Unlock" or "Slide to Power Off"
If a single application is not responding or freezes when it opens, you can force it to close
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. When the red slider appears, release the Sleep/Wake button.
Instead of dragging the red slider, press and hold the Home button for six seconds.
If the device does not return to the Home screen, see the steps below to restart.
If the device is unresponsive or certain controls aren't working as expected, try restarting
To turn off the device, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
Slide your finger across the slider to turn off the device.
To turn on the device, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on), try resetting
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds.
If there is no video, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on
If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the 10W USB Power Adapter.
Let charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
If there is no image on the screen, press the Home button to attempt to wake the device.
If the screen displays a red battery icon, let the device to continue to charge until it turns on.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes
Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.
If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try using the steps in this article to force the device into recovery mode.
    Additional Information
Ensuring that your iOS device is kept updated to the latest software should minimize the occurrence of these issues.

Not with your current user id.
Far too much uneccesary information in your post, which only confuses things, a vast amount!
    Let's start with iTunes.
Have you updated iTunes to 11.1.5, because the previous version did appear to have an issue about seeing iPods?
With iTunes 11.1.5 installed, look in Edit/Preferences/Devices, (or use the ALT key, followed by the E key and then the F key) and make sure that the box named Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically does not have a tick in the box.
Once you have doen those two things, check to see if the iPod is seen by iTunes.

By the way, what does IOS mean? (I thought IO stood for operating system, but am flummoxed by the S on the end.
    Really?
OS stands for Operating System. (In computer speak, IO means Input/Output.)
iOS originally stood for iPhone Operating System, but it now refers to the iPod Touch and iPhone. The iPod Classic, which you have listed in your profile as your iPod, does not use iOS.
I assume that you have been listening to the Podcast in your iTunes on the computer as you cannot transfer it to your iPod. It's what I'd do.

    Help, please.

Try clearing Safari's cache : Settings > Safari > Clear Cache (and Clear History)
If that doesn't work then try closing Safari completely and then re-open it : from the home screen (i.e. not with Safari 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Safari app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • My ipad will not scroll and in order to do anything i have to triple touch any icon or letter for the thing to respond. how do i get these functions back?

I was watching a video online yesterday on my ipad, closed the cover to move to another location when I opened the cover back up my ipad was acting funny.  Now I can't get the scroll function to work and to get any of the buttons to work I need to triple tap them.  Tried to reset by holding down the sleep button and the open/close buttons at the same time but all that does is alternate between a black screen and a screen with the apple logo.
If i let the battery run all the way down when I recharge will that reset the device?  any other suggestions on what to do?

It sounds like you had Voice Over enabled in the Accessibilty Settings. Are you are able to start the iPad now? It sounds like that is an issue as well.
This explains how to turn Voice Over off and on.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4064
You don't need or necessarily want to let the battery run down at all. If you let the battery run down and then recharge, that will not reset the device.
If the iPad is not responding at all, look through this for help in order to get the iPad up and running again, and then you can deal with Voice Over.
