I can't open most of my applications.

After updating to Maverick Most of my applications of aren't accessible.
They all say, " You can't use this Version." then it tells me what version I have. I can't even access system preferences.

Here is the report from EtreCheck. I just don't understand what the problem would have been, all i did was update to Mavericks.

  • RMS stopped. Users told "only documents created in a signed application can be opened in a signed application"

    Hi
I hope you can help and that this is the right forum.
We have a RMS 1.0 sp1 server which has stopped working.
Users get "only documents  created in a signed application can be opened in a signed application" when trying to protect a document in word or Outlook, and are unable to open previously protected documents.
C:\Users\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\DRM - only has the one file in it which is DRM-Machine. the .eul .CLC and .Gic files are missing from this folder.
The server running the rms has an event id 82. " the callers machine certificate has a certificate chain that is not valid"
I ran an irmcheck on the local machine which showed " No user Certificate"
I can connect to the rms server urls , both licensing and certificate with no errors and IE shows the zone to be local intranet.
Can anyone see what my problem might be and suggest why the workstations are not getting their certs and allowed protection? What else should I be checking?
    Best Regards
    Steen

    Hi
Here is the answer which resolved my situation, I hope it helps yours.
Guybrush-Threepwood I've marked your post as helpful as we had installed SP2 but it was not installed correctly and installing correctly was part of the solution.
    PROBLEM:
    Client began seeing the error:
“Only documents created in a signed application can be opened in a signed application”
On the server we were getting events:
“The callers machine certificate has a certificate chain that is not valid”
    CAUSE:
Servers running RMS before SP2 can no longer get a valid Server Licensor Certificate.
    RESOLUTION:
    1. Install RMS v1 SP2 from:
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=14329
    2. Locate and then click the following key in the registry.
For the enrollment URL on x86 versions of Windows Server 2003:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\DRMS\1.0\
For the enrollment URL on x64 versions of Windows Server 2003:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\DRMS\1.0\
    3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click String value.
    4. Type EnrollmentURL, and then press Enter.
     5. On the Edit menu, click Modify.
     6. Type
    https://activation.drm.microsoft.com/enrollment/enrollservice.asmx, and then click OK.
     7. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click String value.
    8. Type CloudGicURL, and then press Enter.
     9. On the Edit menu, click Modify.
     10. Type
    https://certification.drm.microsoft.com/certification/certification.asmx, and then click OK.
    11. Go into the RMS Web interface and renew the SLC

  • Diablo II can't open b/c PowerPC applications are no longer supported.

Downloaded OSLion and now Diablo II can't open b/c PowerPC applications are no longer supported.

Correct. Lion does not support Rosetta, hence, no PPC applications. You need to install Snow Leopard in order to run a PPC application or have the application upgraded to a compatible version.

  • Can't open some of my applications

Hello! I'm experiencing trouble with my iPad, I can't open some of the application on the home screen.... When ever I select what I want it just doesn't respond..... What should I do

    1) Try a reset. Hold the home and power buttons at the same time until the Apple boot logo appears. No data will be lost.
    2) Download any app right now, free or paid, from the App Store and try your other apps now.

    HI,
When you can run Disk Utility from your install disc...
Insert your install disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu and launch Disk Utility.
(In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first from the installer menu)
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
When you are finished with DU, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Manager.
Select your start up disk and click Restart
While you have the Disk Utility window open, look at the bottom of the window. Where you see Capacity and Available. Make sure there is always 10% to 15% free disk space

  • I can't open every third-party applications on my iPhone 4S, please help!!

    Hello everyone,
    Here's my problem:
I can't open every applications except all the built-in appplcations (Calendar, Clock etc.), in other words, all third-party applications are crashed when I open them.
I use two accounts (A & B) to download apps, after I change my current account A to another one B, the applications which belongs to B are working, and I try to download a new app it's working too.
When I change account B back to A, B's apps are still working, however all A's applications still crashed. But I downloaded a new app using account A, it's working...
So what can I do about all my existing account A's applications?? please help me thx...
    Info:
    iPhone 4S 16G (unjailbroken)
    iOS 5.1.1

Why are you using two accounts? That is most likely creating the conflict. Try picking ONE ID, then try downloading a new app from the App Store on that ID and see if your other apps work.

  • I recently reloaded iLife11 and now when I go to open iPhoto it says I can't open it because the application "may be damaged or incomplete". Any suggestions?

I recently reloaded iLife11 and now when I try to open iPhoto I get a message that says I can't open it because "it may be damaged or incomplete".  Any suggestions?

    To re-install iPhoto
    1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5:  Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows:  In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
    /var/db/receipts/
    2c: on 10.7 they're at
    /private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
    3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.

  • I can't open most files from DNG Converter 5.5b (Olympus E-P1)

I have a bunch of E-P1 photos taken in RAW (.ORF files) and was waiting eagerly for support by ACR. I tried the DNG Converter 5.5b today and converted all my images to DNG.
When I tried to import the DNGs in iPhoto, it imported only 32 files out of 800.
These 32 images also have a proper icon (with the preview of the photo).
I can't open the others with either iPhoto, QuickLook or Preview.app
All DNGs were opened successfully with Photoshop CS4 or Lightroom once I updated ACR to 5.5b
It seems that, for some reason, Apple apps can't open this "new breed" of DNG files.
Does anybody have the same problem ?

David, I'm afraid you will probably have to follow up with Apple on this
one. (If I'm understanding your post correctly, you have no trouble using
Adobe software to process the E-P1 files.)
    Eric
Sorry, I updated my original post because I realized I wasn't making much
    sense !
The DNG Converter did convert all my files to .DNG
I can open all of them in Photoshop CS4 (or Lightroom).
But I can only open a few of them with Preview.app, iPhoto.app or QuickLook on
    Mac OSX.
I found out that the one I am not able to open are the photos taken with the
    kit lens (Olympus 14-42mm).
The ones I shot with my Voigtlander 35mm 1.4 ( + adapter) were imported
    successfully in iPhoto.

  • I can not open most mp3 and videos in Firefox with Windows 7 64 bit. thanks for your help

this problem is consistent on two computers with same scenario. I can not open on my site oneradionetwork.com and it is a mixed bag with opening on other sites.

Firefox should work fine on Windows 7 64bit systems. Are you having problems, or just wondering?

  • Can't open the finder via applications after upgrading

After upgrading to Mountain Lion I can't show or open files in the finder via my applications. For example, after I download a file in Chrome nothing happens when I right-click and say 'open file' or 'show in finder.' After I export images from Lightroom it won't open the folder containing those images even though the 'show in finder' option is selected. I have to open the finder and navigate to the files manually. Any help would be appreciated.

Go to your Finder "Go" menu hold the option key and choose Library. Then go to Preferences folder and trash these files:
    com.apple.finder.plist
    com.apple.sidebarlists.plist
Then, restart, or log out and in again.
(You will have to reset a few finder prefs the way you like them.)

  • Can't open 3 Add-on Applications on my E65.. Pls h...

My memory card has 3 Installation files: Podcasting, Nuance ZOOMS, and Blackberry Installation. In the Application Manager Menu, the status of each says "Installed". However, in the Installat. Menu, I cannot open Install BB, Podcasting, and ZOOMS. Before (when i had just bought the phone), I'm able to open them. But now, my month-old phone is unable to use these applications. Why did this happen?

My situation is similar. I saved a PDF on my Windows 7 laptop to my iCloud drive. I can open the PDF from my iCloud drive on that laptop. I can see the file in Finder on my iMac (running OS X Yosemite 10.10) in the iCloud Drive folder (PDFs) containing the file. I can even see a preview of the file in Finder. However, when I try to open it by double-clicking it,  I get "The file "<filename>.pdf" couldn't be opened". If I launch Preview and try to open the file from my iCloud drive, I get the same result. I've tried logging out/logging back in to iCloud on both the Windows 7 laptop and the iMac to no avail.
