I can't play some songs I recently downloaded because when I try to I get the message that I need to authorise my computer but when I try to do this it says I've already authorised this computer.

I downloaded 4 songs at the same time. The first and the last songs in the list play fine. If I try to play the second or third I get the message that I need to authorise this computer. I enter my id and password and it will say I've already authorised 2 out of my 5 computers (I don't know what other one I've authorised) then it will just start playing the last song out of those four.

Delete and redownload them if doing so is free in your country.

Did you unzip the entire contents of the download zip file onto your hard drive before running the installer? You need to do that.

What blue bubble are you trying to turn on? If you mean that the Send button will not work, go to Settings>Messages>Show Subject Field>Off. Make sure that is set to off.
If you send an iMessage, the texts between the devices appear in a blue bubble.
iMessages only work between iOS devices and they are different than the standard text messages that any cell phone can send to another cell phone.

Easy maybe, but a lot of users are used to playing the movies in iTunes on their computers so that is the first place they turn to on the iPad.

Check the calendar/clock on your computer, to be sure that the date/time are correct. My phone was working fine. Today it became de-activated. I am getting the message that it needs to be activated and when I try to it says the server is busy, try again. I still have my wallpaper and it accepts my password and is on our wifi. What do I do.

You have a bit of a mess on your hands, but you can try doing this:
Download the iOS 6 update (ipsw) file to your computer from here: http://osxdaily.com/2012/09/19/ios-6-ipsw-direct-download-links/, being careful to download the version for your model.
Put your phone in DFU mode, as explained here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2648467?threadID=2648467&tstart=0
Restore you phone in iTunes using the ipsw file you downloaded in step 1, as described here: http://osxdaily.com/2010/11/23/how-to-use-ipsw-files/.
If you get a 1014, 1013, 1638 or 3194 error, you access to Apple's servers is being blocked by your Hosts file. You'll have to edit your Hosts file to remove this block, then try restoring again. You can use Google to find out how to do this.

When I use TextEdit, I get the message that the doc can't be saved....

Hi-I have had this issue for awhile now-when I open TextEdit and either type in or paste in something, I get the error message: "This document could not be autosaved because you don't have write access privileges to the folder that it's in. Your changes will be lost if this computer malfunctions or loses power before you save them."
What gives? I am in Admin mode. I don't know what folder the message is referring to. If I Get Info on TextEdit, under Sharing and Permissions, it says that I have custom access-System is Read & Write, wheel is Read only as is everyone.

It's worth looking there. You can add options to show flags, ACLs, and extended attributes:
ls -leO@ /path/to/file
However the error message was:
"This document could not be autosaved because you don't have write access privileges *to the folder that it's in*. Your changes will be lost if this computer malfunctions or loses power before you save them."
That seems to point to the folder that is being saved to, not to the app or to the document itself. I tried locking my own Desktop folder, opening a text document that was on the desktop, and then modifying the text. After a short time I got the identical error message as the one above.
So I was little surprised that the GetInfo information on the Desktop folder seemed OK, especially the Locked checkbox. I am interested in seeing whether the issue is specific both for the Desktop and for this particular app. I'd also like to know more details about the Desktop folder, particularly whether there are any flags or unusual ACLs that might not show up in GetInfo. I think this command would show those things:
ls -ldeO@ ~/Desktop

You might try a forced shutdown to begin with, hold down the top and home buttons together until the device shuts down, then restart it.

Some of my songs in iTunes show up but they won't play. I get the message that my computer isn't authorized to play them when I only have one computer.

I recently did the update for iTunes and after I did that I got the error message: MSVCR80.dll file not found. I followed the suggestions from someone in this community to fix it and now some of my songs aren't playing. And they are the ones that I purchased from iTunes not CDs that I have and ripped to my iTunes library. I can see the songs listed in my iTunes library as well as on my iPod but yet they won't play. On my computer I get the message that this computer is unauthorized to play them and to authorize it. I only have one computer, so I have no idea why I'm getting this message. And does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get all of the iTunes songs to play again?

It sounds like you have some songs in your library that are not playing, and when you try to play them you are being told the computer is not authorized to play them. I would start by verifying that your computer is still authorized, and take note of the Apple ID that you sign in with:
To authorize a computer, follow these steps:
Open iTunes.
Choose Store > Authorize This Computer from the menu bar.
You may need to show the menu bar to see this option in Windows. In earlier versions of iTunes, you can access this option from the Advanced menu.
Enter your Apple ID and click Authorize.
If your Apple ID uses an expired MobileMe account, you can still authorize your computer.

If the issue persists, next I would use the following article to double check that these songs were purchased under the same Apple ID you used to authorize the computer:

Open iTunes
Highlight one of the items you have purchased (You can find your purchases in your Purchases playlist).
Choose File > Get Info.
Click the Summary tab.
The Account Name area will list the account used to purchase the item. Unless you have changed accounts, this is your iTunes Store account name.
If it is the same Apple ID then I would next delete the song, and re download it from your purchased history, with this article named:

I have the same problem. It is only with tv shows and only with programs I have downloaded after the software update.
Apple support sent me the above link too....but it doesn't solve the problem...my computer is authorized and the content is in my library and will play on my Mac air, but it will not sync the tv shows, it keeps saying my computer isn't authorized for it.

Iphone 4 iOS 7.1.1 can't play some songs

All of a sudden I can't play some songs on my Iphone 4. I have iOS 7.1.1. Some of the songs are grayed out and have the download progress square within the circle icon next to them. Tried syncing with ITunes on my pc but get an error "!" next to the same songs. ITunes defines this icon to mean that the song could not be found as it may have been deleted or moved. Anyone have any ideas?

Do you happen to have more than one Apple ID? If you've authorised your computer using the one you're signed into then the most likely cause is that the iTunes purchases were made on another Apple ID.
To check you bought them on the Apple ID you're signed into, you can go into iTunes, click on Store and View My Account. From there you should have a Purchase History option where you can check the songs were bought on that account.
If you have another Apple ID then try to sign into that one (sign out of current one and into new one under Store in iTunes), then Transfer Purchases again and you should have no issues.

What if you take this same topic of an external hard drive with music but instead of directly attached to the computer the music is on a Network Attached hard drive(NAS)? Will I be able to add music to my ipod without any problem? Step that up a notch, will the two computers on my network be able to recognize the music on the NAS? Will the two users be able to create their own playlists and update their ipods independently? Now step up that up one more notch, will I be able to do this with one PC running XP and my macbook with OS X?
Before I run out and buy a NAS I want to be certain. I also would like to convert my DVD library in the future and put it on the network available to an AppleTV or other UpNp media player in the future, because I love having power at my finger tips.
