I can't position an image correctly in epub.

Hello!
Even though I've asked a few questions here in this forum
without getting hardly any answers (one issue was answered a couple of times),
I still have hope, that I could find help for my working this way (somewhat dissapointed though).
So. My issue:
I've made an epub which is nearly ready. But in the last section when I attach a picture (place a jpg, also tried a vector graphic which I've rasterized with same result)
the logo itself jumps to the left side of the spread and in addition it makes an image of an earlier page.
In exporting the file InDesign gives me an announcement:
The file was exported but one or more problems were detected:
Custom Layout settings in Object Export Options have not been honored for group children and inline objects.
In the picture below I've even tried a not inlined anchoring. But still the same result.
I did find answers which concerned the case, but that didn't help. My object already is an above line anchored object.

I'd be very grateful if someone could help me with this.

  • Why can't Photoshop resize images correctly?

    This seems like a pretty basic function, but my copy of Photoshop can't do it right. Specifically, I'm using CS4, but I have a feeling that doesn't matter. I'd appreciate it if someone else would check to see if their copy of Photoshop works correctly either. Here's some quick step-by-step instructions to try it out:
    Step 1 - Create a new file that is 4 pixels wide by 4 pixels tall. (Use basic options: 72 pixels/inch, RGB Color, Square Pixels, etc.)
    Step 2 - Using the pencil tool, draw a red dot (1 pixel wide/tall) in each corner. So that the image looks like this:
    Step 3 - In the menu, go to "Image" > "Image Size..." and increase the width and height of the image to 400 pixels using "Nearest Neighbor".
    Now here's the image I end up with:
    So we started with a 4x4 image, and now we have a 400x400 image. The math here isn't too difficult: 4 x 100 = 400. So each of our red dots in the corners should now be 100x100 pixels each. Simple enough, right?
    Unfortunately, this was not the case for me. The red dot in the upper-left corner is now 97x97 pixels. The red dot in the upper-right corner is now 103x97 pixels. The red dot in the lower-left corner is now 97x103 pixels. And the red dot in the lower-right corner is now 103x103 pixels.
    I guess Photoshop seems to think that both of the following statements are simultaneously true:
    1 x 100 = 97
    1 x 100 = 103
    Am I alone in experiencing this buggy behavior? Or does everyone else get the same result? Is there some way to fix it?
    Thanks for giving it a try!

    I can confirm the problem here on Photoshop CS6 Extended x64 using Windows 7.
    Adobe has never placed too much emphasis on getting things pixel-perfect in Photoshop - it is more fuzzy and touchy-feely philosophically.  This is not only illustrated by the problem noted above, but also by things like a selection made by a selection tool is often off by a pixel this way or that, paths snapped to things still don't *quite* overlap, etc.
    They seem unwilling to change things that have been in the product a while, because apparently when they do so they inadvertently break other things.  And I can't say I blame them...  Given the apparent size of the code base and the extreme age of the software, I wonder what the development cost would be In order to fix something like this across the board, so that every operation really is pixel-perfect.  It might be the kind of thing that a complete redesign from the ground up is needed to fix.  Even then I guarantee you there would be problems.
    To Adobe's defense, having been through the development of graphics software myself, I can authoritatively state that actually getting everything pixel-perfect is quite challenging in a world where computing can be done with integers or floating point numbers of various precisions, where no one can quite agree whether a pixel's coordinate identifies its center or one of the corners, where coordinate systems change depending on what subsystem you're using, and where OpenGL documentation recommends you offset your pixels by (0.375, 0.375) in order to ensure they align properly (no kidding).

  • I can't position this image - please help!

    http://aaronpenton.net/
    I want the "aaronpenton.net" (which is a background image within a div now) to be a link - so I attempted to add another div and place the image that will link to home in that div. However I can't get it to sit right.
    Here's the code I tried:
    @charset "UTF-8";
    /* CSS Document */
    #container {
        width: 755px;
        padding-left: 0px;
        padding-right: 0px;
        overflow: visible;
        height: 900px;
        float: none;
        margin-top: 0;
        margin-right: auto;
        margin-bottom: 0;
        margin-left: auto;
    #banner {
        background-image: url(images/banner.jpg);
        width: 717px;
        height: 38px;
        padding-left: 380px;
        padding-top: 22px;
        background-repeat: no-repeat;
        z-index: 1;
        float: none;
    #home {
        height: 60px;
        width: 300px;
        background-repeat: no-repeat;
        clear: none;
        margin: 0;
        float: left;
        padding: 0px;
    #design {
        height: 38px;
        width: 375px;
    #tunes {
        height: 38px;
        width: 375px;
        padding-left: 500px;
    #hand {
        background-image: url(images/hand1.jpg);
        height: 900px;
        width: 755px;
        background-repeat: no-repeat;
    #table {
        height: 800px;
        width: 639px;
        padding-left: 125px;
        padding-top: 30px;
    #player {
        height: 400px;
        width: 400px;
    #copy {
        padding: 0px;
    #flash {
    the div id = "home" is the one I want to float over top of the top left hand corner. Can someone help? Is the div in the wrong place? Should I not "float=left" the "home" div? As it sits with this code, everything gets pushed and moved around.
    What am I missing?
    Thank you

    Can negative B&W image be converted to positive, done this on elements previously by inverting but doesn't seem to work same way in lightroom ?

    You should be able to invert in Lightroom. But choose the point curve rather than the region curve. If the negative is film you might get better results from scanning.

    Reboot the TC.. Sometimes you need to reboot the whole network.
    This is what comes of Lion and then made worse in Mountain Lion of Apple not spending enough time to fix the bugs.

  • SpryTooltip not positioning tip window correctly with FireFox 3

    Using SpryTooltip 1.6.1 the following works correcting in IE 7 but not with FireFox 3. (version 3.0.8 or 3.0.15).  We do not have FireFox 2 installed so do not know if this exists in FireFox 2 also.
    Go to
    http://www.cyclegear.com/packagedeal_tmp.cfm
    There are 3 sets of thumbnail images.  The first set (pants) works fine, the tooltip shows the larger picture of the pants when you mouse over it in both IE and FireFox.
    Next scroll down to the 2nd set of thumbnails (the jersey).  If you mouse over the thumbnails in IE, it will show the large image correctly.  If you mouse over using FireFox, it will show the tooltip back up with the pants. Same goes for the third set of thumbnails (the gloves).
    Does anyone know how to control the position of the tooltip in FireFox so it shows near where the mouse is (not up with the first tooltip set), like it does with IE, which may be off the viewable page?
    Thanks!
    Don

    I have exactly the same issue with FIREFOX 3.6. If my trigger content is lower down in the page, the Tooltip can pop up much higher so that it goes off the top of the screen.
    IE 8 works just fine.
    I also discovered Tooltips do not work if you are using templates in Dreamweaver. PAIN! Am I supposed to disconnect all my files from their templates and then reattach them after putting in the Tooltips in? BOGUS! There are some workarounds in the forums, but they are just as painfull and rely on messing with the code.

  • How can I determine which image was clicked in 3D carousel?

    I have been modifying some 3D carousel code that I found in hopes that I can get it such that when image "resolv2.jpg" (or any of my other images) is clicked on at the front of my carousel, it goes to a specific webpage. By just replacing "moveBack(event.target) from the toggler section of the code with "navigateToURL:(newURLRequest('http://google.com'), the target DOES sucessfully go to google when clicked on. However, I want to modify this code by altering the else statement to say something to the effect of "else if event.target (clicked on object) is 'resolv2.jpg' THEN go to google". So essentially, my question is how can I determine which image was clicked? Here is the entire code with the area I was altering bolded:

    Your answer may be correct, but I am very much a beginner to actionscript, and I was wondering moreso if it is possible to determine the root/url (i.e. images/resolv2.jpg)? Or even if InteractiveScene3DEvent calls a variable that holds this url? However, specifically, I'm just wondering if the actionscript itself could determine the url in a line of code such as "if object == BitmapFileMaterial("/images/resolv2.jpg"); "? Also, here's a copy of InteractiveScene3DEvent in more detail if you think that will help:

  • How can I move an image/file around inside a document with text already in it?

    I'm learning In Design on the job, and it's a real challenge.  One big problem I'm having is, after I've placed an image inside a document with text in it, how do I place it precisely where I want it?  Sometimes I need the image flush to the left, and sometimes I need to center it.  When I place it, it doesn't land where I need it to be.  Things I've tried work sometimes but not other times.  I've tried going to Paragraph and reducing the setting to zero to move an image flush to the left of the text frame/column (I'm working with a three-column page).  Sometimes that works, and sometimes it does not.  When it doesn't, I've tried using the Selection tool to drag the image, but it doesn't respond.  Could someone give me an idea of what I'm overlooking?  I'm finding that InDesign has many settings, and all it takes is for one setting to be what it shouldn't be for things to go badly wrong.  I'm having other issues too, but in this discussion I'll stick to this.

    Sounds like you are anchoring the images in the text flow. That's fine if you need them to move along with text during editing, but is usually not required and often counter productive. If you place your images as separate objects in their own independent frames they can be positioned anywhere and moved at will. If they need to be anchored, consider using Custom Positioned instead of inline.

  • How Can I Move the Image in the Workspace to Align with 0 on the Ruler (CS5)?

    I am completely new to Photoshop (CS5) so I don't know all the correct terms to explain my problem but I'll try.  I'm working on a computer with Windows 7.
    I open a RAW image and edit it to my satisfaction, and then I "Open Image" in CS5 to do a little more with it, mainly crop it.  I have adjusted the rulers so zero is near the upper left corner.  I want the image's upper left corner to snap to the 0/0 ruler point on the screen.  I can't get the image to move at all.  I've tried Move, Hand. Select and Move, Snap To Guides, and everything else I can think of.  The reason I want to do this is so I can see the image when I have an Image Adjustment window open (Sharpen, Levels, etc.) -- all those "working" windows cover up the image and/or my panel on the right side of the screen.  An odd thing is that the horizontal ruler goes clear over to the right side of my screen, above the panel, and this places my image smack in the center of the screen instead of the center of the workspace (the screen minus the panel and the list of Tools).
    Any suggestions would really be appreciated!   This is a very frustrating problem!

    Sounds like what you want is Window > Arrange > Float in Window. This puts the image into a seperate, normal window, rather than the tabbed interface that Adobe has foisted on us (Float in Window used to be the default).
    When viewed as normal windows, if you ALT + CTRL + plus or ALT + CTRL + minus, it will zoom in and out, expanding and contracting the window to fit.
    For the Toolbar, if you drag it to the left of your screen, you can dock it to the left edge. When the toolbar is docked, other windows won't open underneath it.
    Another handy shortcut when you find all your panels distracting is the H key, to show/hide the "Extras". Be sure to set it back to "Show" when you're done; it's all too easy to be wondering, "Why isn't my paintbrush working?", only to realize you have and active selection hidden.

  • Re: How can I post an image?

    Merging the hints, how does this look?
    Showing an image in Apple Discussions requires two things.
    1. The image has to exist and be accessible from a working server somewhere.
    2. Then the image can be referenced in html and will appear in your post.
    1. To achieve the first you need to register on one of the many free web photo hosting sites. An example of one would be Flicker. (If you have your own web site you can of course host your picture there.)
    Having taken a snapshot of the thing in question (the image), perhaps by using the Grab application on your Mac, you upload the image to your photo hosting site.
    You'll then need to get its URL from the site. It might be easy to see or you might have to read the site's FAQ for those details, as there are differences between sites.
    Easier still, if you are using Safari or Firefox right clicking (or Control click with a one button mouse) on the uploaded image will copy the link for you.
    It will have a form like this:
    http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2186/24541163585b68ff68b8s.jpg
    When you find it, open a new tab in your browser and paste it into it, to check that it displays and is therefore the correct URL for the image.
    2. To add this image to your post here on Apple Discussions, place an exclamation point before and after the link, illustrated as,
    !http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2186/24541163585b68ff68b8s.jpg&#033;
    which produces the image in the post.
    !http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2186/24541163585b68ff68b8s.jpg!
    An alternate html format is;
    <img src="http://source.address.of.image.jpg"/>

  • How can I add an image to my pop up text box built in Fireworks?

    Hello all,
    I have already built my page (a map) with all the pop up text boxes in Fireworks and imported them into my Dreamweaver page, but I would like to add an image in that same pop up box as well as the text. I tried going back to Fireworks and editing the pop up box, but there is no option for adding an image alongside the text. Is there a way I can go into the code and add the image? This is a line of code for one of the pop up boxes:
    <td rowspan="4"><a href="javascript:;" onmouseout="MM_swapImgRestore();MM_menuStartTimeout(0)" onmouseover="MM_menuShowMenu('MMMenuContainer1016121037_0', 'MMMenu1016121037_0',25,23,'Plaza_map_r11_c6');MM_swapImage('Plaza_map_r11_c6','','Plaza_ map_r11_c6_f2.jpg',1);"><img name="Plaza_map_r11_c6" src="Plaza_map_r11_c6.jpg" width="30" height="28" border="0" id="Plaza_map_r11_c6" alt="" /></a></td>
    I'm trying to avoid rebuilding the whole thing in another program! Thanks very much in advance.
    Pam

    If you have more than one of these, then I would add a class rule to your css style sheet
    .fltleft     {
         float:left;
    }.fltright     {
         float:right;
    Then add this rule to your image.
    <img name="Plaza_map_r11_c6" src="Plaza_map_r11_c6.jpg" class="fltleft" width="30" height="28" border="0" id="Plaza_map_r11_c6" alt="" (add new image here) ?>
    This will position your image to the left in the container. You can then add the fltright in the same way.

    It still prints well for me from Chrome on Win XP. Are you able to print out Russian text from apps other than FormsCentral, such as MS Word, other web sites in Chrome or other browsers?
    Thanks,

  • Lightroom 3 Can't Find My Images

    I use several external hard drives for my images and they occasionally get moved either to another folder or to another hard drive.  When this happens, Lightroom can't find the image so I go to the image in its new location and Lightroom finds it and all its neighbors.  That worked great in Lightroom 2 but does not work at all in Lightroom 3.  I can't change the original file folder structure at all.  Lightroom can't find the image even though I'm clicking on it.  Then I try to click a bit harder and eventually start pounding on the keyboard and shouting at Lightroom, "It's right here!"  Any suggestions or bug knowledge regarding this?
    Thanks,
    Richard

    This should definitely work! What is happening if you do that, and what are your detailed steps?
    ... Also, if you right click on an image thumbnail and choose Show in Finder, then reset your image path from the dialogue box, this will not work either.
    As noted here, this seems to be a bug.

    Edit:
    If you move an entire folder from outside LR, you should get a "?" right next to the folder, and the option "Update Folder Location" is not availble, but "Find missing Folder". If you only move some images from one folder to another, "Update Folder Location" is not the correct way to go.

  • HT3704 change position of image in table

    How can I fine tune the position of an image in a table?
    I've got two documents. In one I can go to the inspector mode and presicely set the x and y value.
    Then I've got the other document, same image, and in the inspector mode, I can't set the x and y value.
    What's the difference?
    Thanx for your help

    Hi Rene,
    From the title of this thread, you have an image in a Table Cell. Select the Table Cell, not the image, and then Inspector > Metrics will allow you to resize the Cell and/or change X,Y of the Cell (and the image will resize and/or move with the Cell).
    (Frill-necked lizard in my backyard).
    You can also move the image within the Cell using the alignment buttons on the Toolbar:
