I can't seem to drag and drop my ringtones from my tones library to the tones section on my iphone 5. Does anyone know why or what I can do?

I created some ringtones and managed to get them into the tones section of my library on itunes. I can see and play them. However, when I try to drag and drop them into the tones library on my iphone it will let me drag them but not drop them in. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks for any help

Email it to yourself, then save the file and then see if you can convert it to MP3.

Is this a particular sender, or all of your attchments? Google winmail.dat and you will see a number of returns that can explain this, but in short, this is the way some e mail providers deal with attachments. If all of your e mail is coming that way, you need to change a setting on your isp set up. Perhaps stary here...

These are user-to-user forums, you are not talking to Apple here.
Audiobooks (and ringtones) are currently a one-time only download. I believe that they are all supplied to Apple by audible.com, so I assume that it's them who are requiring the one-time only download restriction. To get it onto your other devices you will need to sync it via a computer. Depending upon what country that you are in, Audible.com have their own app (Audiobooks from Audible) so you might be able to buy direct from them, though I don't know whether you can buy within their app or download audiobooks directly from them within the app e.g. whether they need to be copied via a computer.

I have purchased an audio book from iTunes with my iMac.
Now I wanted to listen to it on my iPhone so I proceeded to transfer the purchase and looked for the book in the purchased section of the store in the iTunes on my iPhone but it did not show up.

Can you find the audio book by using the Search feature on the iPod?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync the audio book to the iPod?

Note you have to check the boxes in Books pane for the iPod in iTunes to sync books in general and another box to sync Audio Books.

I just recently got the Ipad and am having trouble with the location services when ever i am on the verizon wireless router the apps cannot seam to locate me does anyone know why this would happen verizon does not?

I have the new IPad and am using it with the verizon mifi2200 wireless and when i am using apps the location services cannot find me wifi is working and location services is on this does not happen when i am using a wifi that is at my office or in hotels does anyone know anything about this because verizon dosn't?

Got an Iphone 4s,firstly i would like Siri to be a female voive but that is only available for the Americans, secondly i am finding that the phone is ready for the US market but not for the UK market. Does anyone agree ? is there anything else on phone which is amazing?

I live in the US and would prefer a female voice with British accent, but Apple did not ask me.
Different countries have different laws, regulations and suppliers of stuff. It takes time to work out the necessary contracts, etc.
Apple is an American company, most of their customers are in the US, as well as the data centers they use for iCloud and Siri-they have to roll out servers in other places.
Siri is in beta, meaning it's still cooking-they have to work out voice recognition in several languages, different accents before adding non-crucial stuff like different voices.

Yeah, I know I can find the file in finder, but I used to be able to organize all my files in the iTunes interface and easily drag them to my project in AE CS3... so much more convenient.
I tried .aif and .wav files, all formats that AE accepts. Like I mentioned, I used to do this with AE CS3 and my Windows OS... I was just wondering if this was a Mac bug or something. Not the end of the world, but it's little things like this I waste half a day on trying to figure out!! lol.

Hi i have avi files saved in iphoto that i used to be able to play through quicktime. However in the last few weeks i cannot play many of these files. What do you mean by what audio/video formats are involved? These are all files from several digital cameras.
As previously stated, AVI is a file container. It is somewhat old and its originator, Microsoft, dropped official support of it over a decade ago. However, it remains popular with PC users since almost any valid audio and/or video compression format can be stuffed to the file which synchronizes the content by interleaving the individual audio and video frames. The compression format is the specific manner in which the audio and video data are encoded as it is placed in the AVI container. You can find the compression format by inspecting the file in the Finder "Info" window, or in the "Inspector" window of the QT player (or other media player) if the file can be opened.
For instance, one popular compression combination would be to place DivX encoded video and MP3 audio in an AVI file container. However, neither DivX nor MP3 is natively supported by the QT player. (Although iTunes will natively support the MP3 audio.) Therefore, people who wish to play such files in the QT 7 Player would normally install either the DivX component or Perian but not both. Either installation will independently play such files in the QT Player, but if both are installed, the file will usually stop working since these two codecs can create a playback conflict.
However, the AVI container could just as easily contain DV along with DV audio. In this case, the file should play correctly in QT since this compression format is natively supported by the basic component configuration that comes in every current OS installation. Therefore, if such files suddenly stopped playing, this could be an indication that a component has been moved or deleted or that your system or QT embedded structure has become corrupted.

Nothing is going to stop you from dragging it in multiple times, but what exactly are you trying to do? Are you trying to get iTunes to look through the folder and pick up newly added song files?

You have to assign the favicon yourself to the desktop shortcut (right-click the shortcut: Properties) after you have dragged the link to the desktop.
You can usually find the favicon in Tools >Page Info > Media and save the icon there.
Otherwise use the main domain of the website and add favicon.ico (e.g. mozilla.com/favicon.ico ) to display the favicon in a tab and save that image to a folder.

It appears that iTunes 11 does not allow for the "dragging" and "dropping" of music from a library onto a manually managed device.. is that true? I am trying to drag a playlist onto my iPhone. I've done it many times before on previous versions of iTunes but now that the menu is up in the heading, I can't drag the playlist onto the icon for my iPhone.

No.
Sync you are not syncing, the ONLY way to get items onto a manually managed device is to drag and drop.
However, I feel a much simpler way is to create a playlist and add/remove songs from this playlist and autosync this playlist (or multiple playlists). I use about 6 or 7 playlists
You can still also drag & drop songs while autosycning.

GarageBand for iPad is a pretty closed system.
The Song File
You can only open GarageBand for iPad Song Files with the extension .band. Please note that those files look the same as the ones form GarageBand 11. However, they are only upwards compatible but not downward compatible. GarageBand iOS -> GarageBand OSX -> Logic.
Audio Files
You can import a wide variety of Audio Files into GarageBand (via iTunes File Sharing) to use in your Song. But any material from another app has to be mixed down first. Either as a single stereo mix or you mix each track separately and then import those separate files ("stems") into GarageBand. This is a typical procedure to move material to a different app,for example for mixing.

It might just be Microsoft not using standards? I remember having a similar situation - I had an application that could have a zip entry fron 7-zip drag-and-dropped into it (came over as plain text, or maybe an InputStream, can't remember), but when you drill into a zip file with Windows (Vista at least), and try to drag-and-drop a zip entry from Windows Explorer, Java shows no dataflavors available. I just assumed Microsoft wasn't exporting the zip entry in any standard format (such as plain text).
