I can't shut my iPod off!
Yesterday, I was cleaning and accidentally dropped my iPod in a basin of water. It was probably only in there for fifteen or so seconds, and when I took it out, I patted it with a towel and shook it. Everything seems to work perfectly fine, except it won't shut off. When I try to turn it off, the screen goes black for a minute and then lights back up. Does anyone know what I can do?
I've always heard from successful people, that if you drop electronics in water/soda/etc, it needs to dry out well. One of the best ways is putting the electronic item in a bowl of dry uncooked rice. Its a natural dessicant and absorbs all the moisture in no time. I'd let it sit in there for a full day and then wait for some hopeful good news.
Please let me know if this works!

after making a call I put my phone in my pocket and when I bring it out to make a call the player is on killing battery life. How can I shut the player off or prevent this from happening?
Try to position your iphone that the screen is facing away from your skin.
Make sure that the back part of your phone will be the one that will contact your skin inside your pocket
Thats what i do:) -
In iMovie when I adjust the duration of a photo clip or transaction, iMovie automatically changes the duration of another clip; how can I shut this feature off?
Ok, well you won't get a "speed scale" indicator when editing a title clip. You can only adjust duration. Now, is there music attached to the title clip? Are you adjusting the TITLE TEXT box ONLY? Try adjusting the clip BELOW Title Text box 1st, then Title Text clip. Is the Title attached to your own video OR is it one of iMovie's default Titles??

For the last week or so my iPod won't turn off, which is a bit of a twist on the regular "I can't turn my iPod on" posts.
Until now it would turn itself off after about five minutes unused, or I could turn it off by holding down play/pause, but now it just stays on 24/7 whether it's playing or not.
This is a bit of a pain as I need to make sure it's plugged in overnight or the battery gets run down.
Any ideas?
Oh, and yes I have checked the "hold" switch isn't on.I just tried the enter button and play button together - that turned it off, but as soon as I let go of the buttons it comes back on again!!
On the third or fourth attempt it turned off and stayed off so maybe I'll just have to think of it as an extra game - test your skill, can you turn the iPod off in less than three goes! -

Can you shut Apple TV off with the remote?
I don't know if there is a shortcut using the remote, but you could put the AppleTV in sleep manueally by going in the Setting menu.
Besides, there is no real need to do this since you can setup your AppleTV to go in sleep after a specified time and it will then go in sleep automatically. -
My iphone 4s screen is frozen, i can not shut the phone off, can not answer the phone or texts,
Reset, hold both home and power buttons until the iPhone begins to start. Usually takes about 10 seconds. Just keep holding both buttons.

the ipod was connected to the computer when it shut down. Now the "do not disconnect" sign is showing constantly. I can't reset the ipod. Don't know what else to do. Can't get anything to work.
I have the latest ipod. It is 30 gb.I am having the same issue guys What's up with this. I tried to powerdown my ipod this morning and when I hold the play/pause button nothing happens. I can still play and stop songs, video etc. but the play/pause will no longer turn my ipod off. I ever rolled back an update to see if that could be the issues (Oct 10) and still no dice. If anyone has any suggestions I too would be much appreciative.

I can't power my ipod off .
I am unable to power my iPod OFF..I can only turn it on once I plug it in. It won't let me use the sleep/wake button at all. What should I do?
- Try a reset. but it may not work.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
- Next restore the iPod from backup via iTunes.
- Last, restore to factory defaults/new iPod. -

That suggests that another application has stashed old QuickTime componentry in your system files.
So just in case we'll go looking for older QuickTime componentry in the most common locations for it to be stashed.
First we'll need to change some view settings.
In your Start menu, open Computer.
In your Organise menu, select Folder Options.
In the View tab, make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is selected, and Hide extensions for known file types is unchecked.
Click OK.
Now in Computer, open your C:\ drive (or whichever drive you have your operating system installed on).
Open the "Windows" folder.
If you have a 32-bit version of Windows, open the "System32" folder.
If you have a 64-bit version of Windows, open the "SysWOW64" folder.
What files and folders can you see in there with QuickTime in the title? (In a standard installation of Quicktime you should be seeing precisely two files... QuickTime.qts and QuickTimeVR.qtx ... and no QuickTime folders whatsoever.) -

What To Do If Your iDevice Is Lost Or Stolen
If you activated Find My Phone before it was lost or stolen, you can track it only if Wi-Fi is enabled on the device. What you cannot do is track your device using a serial number or other identifying number. You cannot expect Apple or anyone else to find your device for you. You cannot recover your loss unless you insure your device for such loss. It is not covered by your warranty.
If your iPhone, iPod, iPod Touch, or iPad is lost or stolen what do you do? There are things you should have done in advance - before you lost it or it was stolen - and some things to do after the fact. Here are some suggestions:
