Another solution, though not particularly convinient, would be to create a Snow Leopard boot drive on a external drive that you can switch to when you want to run Quicken.

New MBP with OS X lion and found out I can't use dial up. It appears I can't use an external modem. What are my options? Satelitte, mobile hot spot with Verizon, ??? I live in a very rural area in North Idaho so no cable or broadband. I currently have iphone5 with Att but at my home it's on extended network so I don't think having a moble hot spot with them would work? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hi babowa, OS X Lion is not compatable with Apple USB external modem as sated on other threads and on Apple support. My land line company is Frontier and they do not offer DSL service. Believe me I have been checking with them every 2 months for the last 2 years and I keep hearing its not slated for your area yet.
I do have an ethernet port on my MB but only a standard phone jack on my wall so a ethernet cable wouldn't do me any good.
When I bought my MBP a couple of weeks ago I said I only had dial up internet connection and the store personell said I needed a "56k to USB adapter" which they didn't sell but I could pick up at Best Buy. They had one for $50 (I forgot the brand) but I didn't want to shell out the money until I knew for sure thats what I needed and because of their return policy. like I said I'm a novice so maybe I'm confused on the terminalogy. Is the "56k USB adapter" the same as an external modem?

I had this problem. Performance of Keynote 5.1 under Lion was unacceptable; it freezed for several seconds with spinning beachball every time I made a change to a slide. There are many blog discussions about the problem, which might be related to Lion's implementation of autosave/Versions. I used the solution described in this discussion (page 22) for downgrading Keynote from version 5.1 to version 5.05 (which doesn't support the Lion Versions implementation):

This completely restored normal responsiveness to Keynote. Note that you need your original iWork '09 install DVD, and the script recommended to remove iWork takes several minutes to run. You also need to be careful not to let Software Update reinstall the 5.1 update.
It seems clear that Apple needs to release an update to Keynote to address this problem, hopefully soon.

The answer would be in your software license agreement for Aperture. However if you cannot locate it you can ask in the Aperture forum, the link for that is:

However I believe you can have Aperture installed on two machines however only one may be using it at a time.
On the new iMac launch the Mac App Store - Purchased - look for Aperture and download to your new machine.

Can I use Fusion on Lion with Snow Leopard as guest?

Basically, this is what I'm thinking of doing as a workaround for the lack of Rosetta support in Lion....only need it for a couple pieces of software (mostly older children's software that I can't get an updated version for.) But I would like to make use of iCloud, and thus need Lion. So, can I use Fusion on Lion, but then load Snow Leopard as a guest virtual machine? If so, do I just use the SL discs I got when I upgraded from Leopard?

No. Snow Leopard cannot be installed as a VM in Fusion or Parallels. If you need to run Leopard or Snow Leopard then I suggest you create another partition on your hard drive and install either on that partition. You can then boot the older system when you need to use applications requiring Rosetta.

How can I use LCCS with ActionScript 3 and Flash CS4?

Using Stratus I was able to create an an application using Action Script 3 and Flash CS4. The sample code on the Adobe site was quite straight forward and easy to understand. I now want to switch over to LCCS but can't find anything any where on how to use Action Script 3 and Flash CS4 with LCCS. Do I need to know Flex to be able to use LCCS? Everything was quite simple and easy to understand with Stratus and makes complete sense. But LCCS is really confusing. Is there any sample code on how to establish a connection in Action Script 3 and then stream from a webcam to a client. There is nothing in the LCCS SDK that covers Flash and Action Script 3. Please help! I found the link below on some forum but it takes me nowhere.

Please refer to the SDK's sampleApps folder. There would be an app called FlashUserList. The app demonstrates how LCCS can be used with Flash CS4. Its a pretty basic app, but should help you moving.

The problem is that you are using application-identity. When you
specify an objectid-class, we treat is automatically as application
identity. To resolve this, I would recommend removing both the
objectid-class and identity-type atributes from your class. With
"objectid-class" in place, we asssume that you wil take care of identity.

To use ClassSequenceFactory must the identity-type of my entities be

The last question is related to my architecture: one VM with the EJBs
(entity and session) and another VM with the web classes and JSPs,
