I can't work out what apps use the internet. Please help

I cna't work out what uses the internet and what doesn't on my iphone4 please help????

Settings>WiFi>Off...then Settings>General>Network>Cellular Data>Off...then start launching your apps, those that require a data connection either won't work or will generate an error message. You could also accomplish the same thing by putting your phone in Airplane Mode.

    Do you use push email?  Do you have accounts that have synchronized calendars associated with them?  Those features will still use cellular data in the background as the receive mail and send or receive calendar updates.
    Some notifications, like push notifications from Facebook and other social networking sites may use cellular data in the background.  Basically, any automated data task like those may use cellular data when the phone is in standby (note that wifi would be used if available when the phone is active, but wifi turns off in standby and all data goes through the cellular data connection).

    Very frustrated that I have just spent over 900 dollars on my new iPad and I can't view more than half of the web sites due too my iPad not being compatible with flash. Common sites like herald sun or afl.com.au. Can't view any flash videos at all. A warning label should be placed on the box that ipads aren't internet compatible for at least half the sites on the net. I feel ripped off and cheated is their anyway I can use this thing to view everyday websites. Any help would be appreciated.

    The iPad is not a desktop or laptop replacement.
    It is an intermediate device for when a desktop / laptop is not needed or convenient.
    Apple is not stopping you from looking at anything you want on your iPad.
    Flash and other adobe junk is available for OS X on apple computers.
    Adobe had no modern mobile flash player available when the original iPhone or the iPad came out, they had abandoned development of it.
    All they had to offer was an old piece of software based on flashplayer 6(we are at 10 now). It was garbage.
    Adobe just now is releasing there mobile flashplayer as a non-beta.
    From what I am hearing it is not very good.
    Apple will not accept it until it is not garbage, by then HTML 5 will be dominate and adobe will be out of luck.

    Acrobat XI is not distributed with Designer. Designer is now a separate product. You can create forms in Acrobat as an AcroForm or using Forms Central (an online forms program). You can print the form to a new PDF and then recreate the fields in Acrobat using the recognize form fields. You will likely have to fix the form fields, but that would be the process. Generally, once a form is taken to Designer, you can't bring it back without such steps.
    Designer is available with AA8 - AAX, but since is a separate product as I indicated.

    I don't believe that there is a way to do that.  I would sugest using automatic downloads to keep your apps synced across both phones.  You might also want to note that just about any app you have ever download will be available for free download via icloud.

    Thank you for reaching out to us. We certainly know the importance of being able to know what options are available with your device. With apps on devices, thoses are specific to the phone itself, so there is no open forum to view what apps are downloaded. The only option would be to physically review from the phone, or if you have the same Apple ID you can log into it and view from there. Please let us know if you need anymore assistance.

    Ok, that didn't work and only closed out this window in discussions. After it closed this one I tried again doing the same but nothing. Makes sense though because if it closed this one out it would close everything else out on my desktop too. This is like a giant screen saver. All my other .jpg icons are still on my desktop over the top of this big pic. Is it possible this is what it is, just a screensaver? I did the same with another pic from the same website and it didn't do this. I clicked on my mouse to save a pic to the desktop and this monstrous thing appeared.  My dock is still there and the top bar that has the apple, Safari, edit, etc., but not anything else that you would normally click on to close a window.

    Not exactly.
    You can open the App Store app > Purchased > Not on this iPad and you will see a list of apps you own that are not installed on the iPad. I believe the newest ones are listed first.

It doesn't sound like any of my regular applications. Maybe it is the lock noise but I can't tell for sure.  More movement makes more beeps.  Even walking with my phone in my pocket creates beeps.  The IOS is 7.0.4 (11B554a).  Anyone else have this crazy problem?

    Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset...
    Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
    Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.

    Thanks for your help Brij011 - much appreciated. Apologies as I'm a newbie but I've looked at the info for synching and I appear to have all the switches flicked on my iPad. Does the iPad and iBooks only sync in iCloud for purchases as I appear to be doing something wrong. I could sync ok when books was in iTunes but since migrating to Mavericks I think I'm doing something wrong!!

    To make sure that this is not software related, set it back to factory settings, without using any backup data afterwards. Set up the rest of the personal settings manually and test the phone. If it still does not work, this is a hardware issue and the phone has to be serviced by Apple or an Authorized Apple Service Provider:

    Thanks for replying. The plan you have it would be an additional charge to add the hotspot feature. It's not free with the Nationwide plan. You would need to add the feature online at www.verizonwireless.com/myverizon

    The details you're providing are very helpful, Maj_Dad. With airplane mode enabled,
    there would be no message because that disables celluar data. I would recommend
    tying that mode with WiFi to see if it still happens. It sounds like this issue
    has something to do with one of the applications on the device.
