I cannot delete my emails

Any hints on how to delete messages in email...I have spent the last 2 hours deleting the emails
keep popping back in..

Back up all data.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership, permissions, and access controls to the default. If you've intentionally set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it, but you do need to follow the instructions below.
Step 1
If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:
sudo find ~ $TMPDIR.. -exec chflags nouchg,nouappnd {} + -exec chown $UID {} + -exec chmod +rw {} + 2>&-
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command may take several minutes to run, depending on how many files you have. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear, then quit Terminal.
Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1, if you prefer not to take it, or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open. In that window, type this:
res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not  going to reset a password.
Select your startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
Select
 ▹ Restart
from the menu bar.

My wife receive email on her iPhone with no subject. When she tapped it, she received another identical email. She cannot delete these emails. How do we delete them?

Try closing out the Mail app. Double click home button, press and hold an app until they jiggle, then hit the red button next to the Mail app.
Load back into it, and see if they are still there and if you can delete them.
If you can't delete inside the email try from the inbox. by hitting the Edit button in the upper right, then tapping the email and hitting the delete button.

    Okay, try this:
Open a Messages folder, press the BB menu button and select View Folders.  This will bring up a list of all available folders on the device where these messages might be hiding.  Have a look and see if you can find them there!

Your bad charger probably damaged something inside as well.  Your hard drive directory may be damaged too.

  • Curve 9330 Cannot Delete Internet Email

I stupidly upgraded my BB last night and subsequently lost all of the unique Internet e-mail folders I had created.  When I attempted to go into Settings > Email Accounts > Internet Mail Account the system begins checking for updates.  I then see each of the e-mails that I previously set up.  I try to enter the current password and verify/activate but BB never does it successfully.  I cannot delete the accounts nor can I set up the account as new.  I am stuck.  I cannot wait to get rid of my BB but until then I need some assistance on how to get rid of the old instances and recreate.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello lhatchell,
We suggest that you contact your wireless service provider to verify your service plan regarding the issue you are experiencing with accessing your Internet email on your BlackBerry® Curve™ 9330 smartphone.
    Thank you.

  • I cannot delete any emails

    Greetings to all,
Some how I deleted my earthlink trash. I tried to set up a new trash to earthlink again but now when I try to delete an email it will not let me. It comes back and says...
"The destination mailbox "deleted Messages-Earthlink" does not allow messages to be moved to it."
Is there a way to reset my mail program without loosing my emails?
    Thank you
    Marco

I have several mailboxes for different POP mail accounts and I had one that would not let me delete messages ("move messages to the deleted folder"). What I discovered was the folder for deleted messages for that account no longer had the mbox extension. i.e. /Users/(your user name)/Library/Mail/(your account name)/Deleted Messages.
I added the mbox extension and now it behaves correctly.

  • I cannot delete my emails en masse.

I have about 35,000 in my inbox, so I selected them all and then tried delete.  They vanished but when I returned to mail, they were back.  I tried it again, except I moved them to trash.  They appeared in the trash, and I emptied it, but they then reappeared in my inbox.  I have been waiting some time, assuming that there is an issue regarding the sync between my Mail client on my computer and the server, and it my internet connection does seem very slow, which would suggest something is happening, but iCloud in System Preferences is showing the same amount of usage.  Am only deleting these emails because I got the message that my iCloud storage was going to be reduced to 5GB as of September.
    Help!

    anyone know of this situation?

  • Cannot delete incoming email

    Unable to delete incoming email.

Ok. I found a solution. It makes your current trash inaccessible, but allows you to move forward with trashing messages
    go to Home > Mail > POP-xxxxx(your-email-addy)xxx >
and move the file named "Deleted Messages.mbox: out of the folder.
    Restart computer.
The old subject lines are still in your trash, but they will not open.
But now you can delete your current messages.
BEFORE YOU DO THIS..... You might try (in Mail) moving all your trash to a new folder named 2010Trash (or something) -- that might give you access to your old TRASHED messages. I can live without mine, so I didn't do this...

  • I cannot delete multiple emails in GMAIL with Firefox 4.

I have upgraded to FF 4. I'm not able to move or delete emails by selected multiple mails. It allows to select multiple mails but cannot do any action on it.

(repost) I tried a bunch of google hidden settings, re-install ff4, looked at ff error console, tried for hours looking for an answer on google, and this the only thing that worked for me: create a new firefox profile. I didn't even know that I had one to begin with. I had to re-install add-ons, import favorites, and re-sign to websites with passwords, which took me about 25 min. to get the bulk of it done.
    http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Profiles
Now all things google work great (gmail, enter keys on search results, drop-down google header items, etc.), so it was completely worth the time to do it. Although it would have been nicer not to have to do it in the first place, but whatever, technology, sheesh, cry, moan, whine.....just don't leave me.

  • Cannot delete aol email

When I try to do so I get a msg that it cannot be done...but no explanation as to how I can overcome this...

If the AOL account is grey out that means you are using that account as the primary account on the phone; when you setup the phone for the first time it asks for an email address, this is the primary account and cannot be deleted without do a hard reset.  To do a hard reset go to setting tap about and tap reset your phone.
I would recommend using an Outlook/Live account instead and then use the AOL as an email account only.
No need to shutdown apps the phone does great app management but if you need to and if you are running Windows Phone 8 just hit the back arrow till you get to the start screen.  This means that all open apps are closed.  If you are running Windows Phone 8.1 tap and hold the back arrow and you will see all the apps running and you can hit the (X) to close them.

  • Cannot delete one email

For some reason I have an email that cannot be deleted. I press the delete key and it move to the trash, and delete the trash as many ways as I know how and when I return to my INBOX, it is there again.
I have rebuilt all of my mailboxes and still no dice - any suggestions?

What type of account is this (POP, IMAP, .Mac)?
You may be able to get rid of that message in Mail doing Edit > Cut (⌘X), but you may need to remove it from the server first in order to completely fix the problem. Does this account allow web access?

  • Cannot delete old email accounts

I am in a pickle.  I gave my husband 2 email accounts as a 'sub account ' on my iCloud account, as he is dyslexic when it comes to using computers etc. I discovered that, to help him out, his Manager at work had allowed my husbands emails to be sent to HIS, the Managers,  own account, so that my husband would have instant access to his emails at work.  When I discovered this I asked that it was deleted from the managers account - which he assured me it was - and I changed my husbands emails.
However, on my iCloud account and showing on my phone still, are the two accounts under Advanced Mail and Allow Sending From,  and these two emails are still shown, and although not green highlighted, it says underneath that " you will still receive mail at all of the addresses above"
I am so worried about this.  Can anyone please tell me how to permanently delete these two accounts so NO ONE can access them?
    Thank you

ok, additional information usually helps clear things up!
Options > Advanced > Service Books.
Find the email address service books (there should be two, [cical] and [cimime] and delete them.
