In previous versions you could select organize bookmarks. In this version it is gone. I would imagine that since FF now can sync across multiple devices, the ability to organize from any of those becomes more important. Selecting one bookmark at a time to delete or move is too tedious for people with hundreds or thousands of bookmarks.
The way bookmarks are managed has not changed. You now access to the Library window by selecting Bookmarks > Show all bookmarks from the Firefox menu.

I am getting the 'invalid personalization information' error when I start my photoshop cs8. I cannot find my original disk to re-install, but do have the serial number. Can I download a trial version and then enter my serial number?

My MBA is full, and cannot find out where the unidentified photos are.
"About this Mac" says I have 89GB of photos saved. When I check my iPhoto, it only has 36GB of photos. My SSD is full, so I need to find out where the rest of 53GB of photos are. Can someone help?
First, empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. Then reboot. That will temporarily free up some space.
To locate large files, you can use Spotlight as described here. That method may not find large folders that contain a lot of small files.
You can also use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) to explore your volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one.
Proceed further only if the problem hasn't been solved.
ODS can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
Back up all data now.
Install ODS in the Applications folder as usual.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):sudo /Applications/OmniDiskSweeper.app/Contents/MacOS/OmniDiskSweeper
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything while running ODS as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means.
When you're done with ODS, quit it and also quit Terminal. -

PlasticPsyche_kIf you do not have an active data plan on your iPad, it is in Airplane Mode, or it is turned off, iCloud will not be able to locate it if it is not in a WiFi area. However, if someone turns it on or connects it to WiFi, you should be able to locate it.

One Mac Book Air was stoilen frm me, I can still see it on Find my Iphone and can see that it has been renamed. The computer was offline for longer than 24 hours, so I am wondering if there is any way how I can find out it's last online location?
No, you cannot find out where the computer has been. Find My Mac only shows you were the computer is right now if it is online.
I strongly recommend you change all your internet passwords immediately, notify the police (do not try to recover your MBA yourself), and your insurance company so you can get reimbursed and buy a new Mac. Once you have done all this go back to Find My Mac and click the "Erase" button. -

I have had email notification that my ipad that was stolen was turned on and connected to the internet however no other info was avail about where the unit was turned on to help me find a location of where it is. It is now off again. The site has no info on how to find data on where it was turned on. I've received emails saying it's now locked and message displayed. There myt be a way to find out where it was turned on!
Any ideas!Unless the device has power and an internet connection there is no way to locate it.

How do I find out where iTunes thinks missing files are?
I have several hundred "missing" files in my iTunes library but they are all actually on the computer. But I don't remember where the were previously. I add dozens of songs at a time to my library all the time and there is no Earthly way for me to constantly remember where they were before. I don't just want to reimport the files because I have several hundred playlists with these files and it would be completely stupid to edit them all one at a time when all I need to do is to move them back to where iTunes thinks they should be. So where is that? The Windows media player has a column that displays file location. Why doesn't iTunes? (This is so stupid. It makes things -not just this- so much easier when you have the file location in the music list in your music player.)

The exclamation mark means ITunes doesn't think they are anywhere.
If you right click - get info on a song then view the Info tab, you will see where iTunes last used it from.
I'm not a newbie. I know quite a lot about iTunes. You sound like you don't though because if you did you would know that this is not true. If you "right click - get info on a song" (pressing cancel to the Locate popup) "then view the SUMMARY (not info) tab" you will see "Not Available" where the file location usually is. I wouldn't have asked this question if I hadn't gone through the steps already.

When I install a new hard drive. Yes. I generally keep everything organized and I let iTunes keep the folder organized but several years ago I used windows media player to organize my media.
Frankly I don't know HOW the recent songs/videos/etc. go missing. But some do. Maybe I accidentally move a folder without realizing it. Mistakes happen. Then I need to move it back but since I didn't know I did it in the first place I can't possibly be expected to remember where I moved it from.
Do you have iTunes prefs -> Advanced Keep ITunes music folder organized ticked and Copy files to iTunes ... ticked?

I don't mean to sound rude but you sound like an Apple fanboy. Are you trying to tell me how I should use my own program? The answer to the question is I am a salsa instructor/DJ and I am constantly adding songs and videos to my library. Every month I have various salsa events, classes and performances that I do. I use my iPhone for the music. I need to maintain the playlists because students/teachers/studios/clubs/bars/churches/etc. call me back and want a repeat of the great salsa night I gave them a year ago. Naturally my playlists are highly organized into folders. So, I still have them and I need them.
Apple has its own ideas about how people should use its stuff but everyone is unique and our needs therefore are unique too. Apple doesn't realize this and still wants us to do things "the Apple way" even though "the Apple way" only works well for people who want their hand held through everything. This is why I say you sound like a fanboy. You don't know my situation and question if I need hundreds of playlists. I do.

How to find out where my code is running
Our software can run in EJB or Web Container. Based on its environment it does things differently, For example connection pooling, Transaction Management, etc. Problem is that I cannot figure out a way to make my software smart enough to find out where it is running. Its caller has to pass it a parameter telling it where it is running. I don't like it at all. Can someone please help me to understand what I can do give this functionality to my software i.e to figure out by itself if it is running in WEB container or EJB Container.

I have downloaded the latest pages update on my iPad, but my iMac still has Pages version 4.3, and I cannot find out how to update it on my desktop. When I try to send something from my iPad pages via email to be opened on my desktop in Pages, it won't open in Pages. I get a message that it can't be opened because the version is too old. I sent the document as a PDF and it worked. But I want to be able to use Pages back and forth. HOw do I update the Pages version on my desktop iMac?
The file format used by the iOS versions of the iWork apps can only be read by the new iWork apps on your Mac - i.e. Keynote 6, Pages 5 & Numbers 3. Those versions for the Mac require Mavericks, OS X 10.9. The "too old" error on a Mac comes if you are trying to open an iWork '08 or earlier file in the newest apps. If you do have the newest apps you can open the files from your iPad.
If you can't or don't want to upgrade to Mavericks & the newest iWork apps your best option would be to export/share the files from the iPad to a type an older version of iWork can read such as Word, text, Excel, etc.
Or contact AppleCare. They made this mess, let them fix it. -
