Contact Apple and ask for a "Replacement Serial Number".

Ok, this is somewhat of a better work around I've found:
Starting in the Australian iTunes store, I go through the process of signing into the UK iTunes store up until the point it asks for my credit card information.
I then click the 'X' in the top left of iTunes to exit the store.
Now when I click on my Apps Updates button it shows me what UK Apps I have that are available to update.
You can't download these as at this point I've changed the store I'm viewing, but haven't officially switched accounts. Not to worry.
I write down the names of the UK Apps to update.
Then, use the 'search store' field in the top right of iTunes to search for one of the Apps.
Once you've found it, click to buy it / download it.
iTunes recognises that the App is already in your account and downloads it again for free….
… now I'm HOPING that that App is now fully within my Australian account… unfortunately only time will tell once there is a new update for it.

Trying to hook up my time capsule. Plugged in the eithnet from the extreme over to the time capsule--then plugged in the time capsule--still in amber blinking light--went back to extreme and works fine--reset the cable modem in between but that did not f

Hoping someone can help with setting up my new time capsule. I am just switching from my extreme to the time capsule. I can not get the time capsule to go anywhere but to amber blinkiing. I can go back to the extreme and interenet works fine.
Here is what I did:
plugged in the ethernet cable from the cable modem
plugged in the time capsule power
Just cycles to amber blinking -- no internet connection
Tried pulling up the airport utility but it just shows my old extreme configuration and says that it is not supported anymore. Do not see how to display info on the flashing light.
I have gone back to the extreme three times and it seems to work fine.
I also repowered the modem in between trying to get the time capsule to work

Is this a cable modem? It has to be off for at least 20min and sometimes much longer before it will give up the old settings. You might even need to power down the cable modem overnight.
Tell us exactly what broadband you have with what ISP and exact model of modem..
The new TC cannot be setup without using the latest airport utility 6.3.1 or 6.3.2 and you need Lion - Mavericks to use it.
The computer also needs to have ipv6 setup to local link on whatever you are connecting with, wireless or ethernet.

There is an Applescript, File Name to Title, provided by user léonie that will put the file name of any selected photos into the Title field for that photo. If there already is a title in that field under the thumbnail it will not replace it with the file name.

Copy the script above, open Applescript Editor and past it into the open window. Compile and save as an Applescript application. Put the app in the Applications folder and drag into the Dock. Now you can select images in Photos and launch the app from the Dock and it will do it's thing. It is a bit slow so can take some time for a large number of images depending on the speed of your Mac.
Just to be on the safe side create an album with a few titled and untitled photos and run it on them.

I have sent a file to the trash bin. When I come to empty the trash bin everything goes out except this one particular file and I get a note saying the file is 'in use' but it is not. How can I delete this file from trash?

When I empty the trash this one particular file remains and I get a message that this file is still in use. I have tried returning the file to my documents, opening it, closing it and then sending it to trash and again I try to empty trash but the same message comes up - Q - How can I trash this file permanently?

First just try logging out and back in. Whatever is holding on to it may not be running after the logout thus freeing it so you can trash it after logging back in.
You might also try Trash It!

The "restore disk" is built into the Mac. See About Recovery.
Need more specifics about what error messages you got while installing Adobe Flash.
However, you can almost avoid Flash altogether by setting YouTube to play the HTML5 version instead.

hello there thank u so much for ur reply!! ok i uninstalled mackeeper now and the put back option is still in grey im so confused...i tried restarting my computer like u said and put back still in grey??!! the files that are in my trash are everything from Accounts,address book plug-ins,address book,adobe,aim.........then stuff like apple,Audio,....to caches color pickers,colors,com.apple.TCC,to DVD player to facebook,google to ilifemedia browser to itunes to keychains to movie effects,preferences printers to skype...my Native instruments files BUT not all of them my garage band but not all of it...it seriously looks like my whole library is in the trash i tried to put things back where i THINK they belong and it just added the item or folder under where i thought it went and didnt restore functionality to for instance google chrome and all my book marks are there....they seem to be only certain things from my library that would have added some functionality to apps and programmes like my garageband is missing stuff photobooth wont work so on.......kinda looks a bit like this thats only the half of it!! If neither of the above and you don't have the CD and can't find your tracks on the computer then they you're stuck. A file recovery utility will cost $100, plus another $100 for an external drive to which to resue the files, and may not even work. You can buy a lot of CDs for $200.

I finally just resolved this after not being able to enable location services since upagrading to iOS 7. Posting the solution here 'cause I couldn't find it anywhere else.
I enabled Restrictions under Settings > General > Restrictions and created a passcode (I'm not sure if this was part of the solution, but it wasn't enabled for me by default.)
In Restrictions, under Privacy, Location Services was set to "Allow Changes" (This still didn't solve the issue of the greyed-out Location Services switch though - I still couldn't turn it on.)
Also in Restrictions, I also switched "Find My Friends" to "Allow Changes"
Once I did step 3, the switch under Settings > Privacy > Location Services was no longer greyed out and could be switched on.

As I understand it, Apple gets your location from the wi-fi router to which your iPod is connected. Location Services identifies the router and then checks for its location in Apple's database. If the router has been recently relocated or if there is a glitch in Apple's database, you will get an incorrect location. I don't think that there is anything you can do about it. You could send Apple a message about the error, but I doubt if they would do anything about it.

You won't be able to change your rescue email address until you can answer your questions, you will have to contact Support in the country where you and your iTunes account to get the questions reset.

If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar
