I cannot sign in into icloud on my macbook pro

i have been using the same apple id over all my ios devices but everytime i try signing in on my macbook it says apple id or password unrecognised (settings>icloud). the same id works fine on my ipad and also pushes data. simultaneously when i open safari and log in on icloud.com it shows my account but somehow wont sign in via settings.

Well, disregard. After an hour of attempting to log in, changing password on desktop, and still having problems logging in to phone, it now lets me log in. Thanks.

I did not do my research before changing my Apple ID from an outdated email address to a current one. I just changed and verified and though I was all set. WRONG! Now I cannot sign in to iCloud because it will not let me enter the new Apple ID. I read the 10/30/13 randers4 post to just change your Apple ID back then sign in and change it to the new email address again and then you can sign in, but I cannot change back to the prior email address Apple ID because that is no longer an active email account (or at least not mine). Any thoughts on how to get signed into iCloud when it does not allow me to type in the new Apple ID and the old Apple ID no longer exists.
I see that many people have asked, but no one has come up with a solution that I found.
Thanks for any help!

This did not work for me. My old email account for iCloud still pops up on my screen every time I open my macbook. I've deleted it, reset it, every thing I can think of and it still shows up. I think six months of this is more than enough time to wait.

What is that mean?

You'll get that message if your device has already been used to create 3 different iCloud accounts on the device itself. You have to create the new account on your computer, then set it up on your phone. There is no other way around this limitation.

Not sure what you've tried so far to connect. But, make sure you have an Internet connection and log into iCloud with your Apple ID/password from System Preferences/iCloud.
If the OS X you're running is prior to 10.7, you won't be able to use iCloud as this feature was added to OS X beginning with OS X Lion (10.7).

At first, my macbook couldn't start up. It only displayed apple logo with a spinning wheel on grey screen for hours and hours. Then I decided to reinstall the OS. I tried so many times to install but the installing time said thousands of hours remaining to complete . I left the computer for days but it didn't install OS. I tried that connecting the Ethernet cable as well but it didn't work. Then I took out all my important files by connecting it to another macbook and formatted the hard drive. Then tried to install OS again. But still didn't work. I checked on you tube and changed the hard drive cable as well. Still didn't work. I cannot install OS X Lion on my MacBook Pro. How can I access iCloud with my Macbook Pro with 2.16 GHz Intel Core Duo?

I would like to know how to use iCloud on my MacBook Pro as I have other Apple products that are newer than this laptop and I would like to synch with the iCloud between all products. I can synch with the iCloud with my iphone 5 and my iMac.

You must be able to upgrade it to 10.7.2 or later for iCloud:
Upgrade Paths to Snow Leopard, Lion, and/or Mountain Lion
You can upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for $19.99. To access the App Store you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later installed.
Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You must purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.

Welcome to the Apple community.
iCloud is not an application you can download and install independently. It is part of the OS X 10.7.2 operating system. So in essence no you cannot use iCloud with OS X 10.6.8 on your Mac.
