I cant play HDV with my imovie 08, quicktime or imovie HD 06.

i just bought an imac, installed the leopard and made some upgrades for quicktime, i movie, quicktime and others. I have a bunch of HDV files storaged in my desktop and external Hd but when i try to play it thru quicktime only the music plays and the screen is just plain white. The same happens when i try it out with imovie 08 or imovie HD 06. Can anyone help me with this??

If you are having issues with your iPhone being unable to play video with the Videos application, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
Force an app to close in iOS
Next, I would try restarting and if needed resetting the iPhone -
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups

It all depends a bit on how & what you backed up, and how you restored it. Select an affected track. Press CTRL-I to Get Info. Click Cancel when asked to locate the file. Look at the location given on the summary tab. Now look through your computer for file in question. What are the two paths? iTunes could be using the wrong layout (pre or post iTunes 9) in error. Or your library could have been split on the previous system, and not restored to preciesly the same path. Posting back the two paths should make things clearer.

Cant play games with EAX enab

Hello, I was hoping someone might have some advice for me. I recently installed an Audigy 2 ZS and have been unable to play any games with EAX enabled since (including the ones that came in my Gamer bundle). About 30 seconds after starting up the game i start getting horrible high pitched noises from my speakers and the game will act visually like its a skipping DVD(lagging hard?). The noises and skipping come in waves begginning about 0 seconds apart and progessi'vely getting worse so that 2 minutes later its just all lag and sounds like someone chiseling at a chalkboard. All problems seem to go away once i have disabled EAX in the game consoles. I have run the creative updater and gotten all the newest drivers, i have tried physically moving the card to the PCI slots at either end of the stack, i've tried seemingly every combination of settings within the MediaSource panels, just for fun i even tried different speakers. i've run out of ideas and dont know what to do.

ok, nevermind that last post. Ive managed to get unique IRQs assigned for all devices (took some re-arranging and the discarding of a few non-essential PCI cards) but the problem remains. Also, this was probably totally unnecessary because apparently part of complying with the PCI 2. protocol (which this card says it does) is being able to share ICQs.
Also, I have tried as many of the options in that knowledge base article as i could (some of the BIOS options mentioned are not present on my system, etc) but the problem still persists.

You must mean files you download from the Internet and are now stored on your computer.
Single click to highlight one of these files. Use the Finder's "Get Info" window to change the default "Open with..." application.
You can also control-click (right-click) to open this menu and choose a different application.

N81 Cant play video with actv key

I received a content DVD from Nokia with my N81 which contains videos and songs. I transferred the videos to the video folder and then received activation keys in sms.. the activation valid and the video file's "View Detail" also shows valid activation key.
I dont understand why the clips shouldnt play.. Any help would be appreciated!!

Ok I managed to get a CD ROM for N81 and can't find any video files or music files or whatever.
Somehow I don't have this DVD...
DRM protected content should be .DCF not .3GP so there must be something funny happening.

Cant play mov with sounds, and partition problem

Hi!
I can play my mov files on kaffeine but I don't have sound. Every others filetypes have sounds so what am I suppose to understand?
My partitions from fstab are always mounted for root only I'm always obligated to do a umount in root, and mount in my user shell to access my data from my partitions.
Here's my fstab:

1. Make sure you have all codec packs installed in the Arch repo. No sound is because of a missing codec.
2. Since FAT doesn't have user permissions, the mounted partition is owned by the user who mounted the partition. Change your vfat lines to

I suspect you are attempting to burn an HD DVD, which will not play on a DVD player...
But if you provide more details such as the settings you are applying in Compressor, then we would be able to provide you more accurate information.
How are you adding the files to Compressor?
In FCP, what are your footage properties (command-9) and sequence settings (command-0)

I also have Jolly's problem. I found the iMovie 9.0.9 folder and tried to launch the older version of iMove. It would not launch. I removed all of the iMovie preferences from the Preferences folder, removed iMove 10 from the applications folder, and restarted my Mac. iMove 9.0.9 still won't launch and I can't access my videos created with the older version of iMovie. Is there a way to uninstall iMovie 10 and reinstall iMovie 9.0.9?

Firefox now always stores the old session, and you can access it by going to the History menu and selecting "Restore Previous Session"
If you want Firefox to display the message to save the session, it can be turned back on by changing some preferences.

Hi, haven't used iMovie in years. I shot some video with my cell phone camera (Samsung Galaxy S2). When I tried to make a movie, the clips I downloaded played back sideways on iMovie. Is there any way I an flip the video from horizontal to vertical?

In earlier versions of iMovie you can also do this using Quicktime Pro 7:
Open MOV file in QT Pro (QT 7.6.6)
Window -> Show Movie Properties
select "Video Track"
select "Visual Settings" from lower window
check "Preserve Aspect Ratio"
Click on appropriate rotation icon (MOV rotates!)
Click back on the open MOV in Player Window
FILE -> Save
