Carphone warehouse does not sell unlocked phones. The phones they sell will only activate with a UK carrier and will lock to the UK carrier used to activate it. You can not use that phone on an Irish network. Return it and buy an unlocked phone directly from Apple or one intended for use on the network you intend to us in Ireland.

IPhone 5 not recognizing SIM card, I can't activate the phone.
Hi, everybody.
A couple of days ago, I bought an iPhone 5 from a friend. I have an iPhone 4 and, as you know, they both have different SIM card sizes (4 uses micro size and 5 uses nano size). When I got the iPhone 5, I restored it to factory settings, but couldn't activate it 'cause I didn't have the nano SIM card (or SIM nano card, anyhow it goes), so I just turned it off. Next morning, I went to my mobile carrier to buy a nano SIM card (they took like 28 hours long to activate it…anyway) but the iPhone is not recognizing it, so I cannot activate it.
I've gotten stuck in the white "Hello" screen for like 3 days already and I'm running desperate 'cause I wanna use my stupid iPhone 5…
Please, guys, any help?
EDIT: It cannot be restored via iTunes 'cause I get a screen saying that there's no SIM card in the iPhone I'm attempting to activate. The friend who sold me the phone showed me a way to restore it on the phone itself, without having to send the command through iTunes 'cause he said that from iPhone 4S onwards all phones have to be restored with a SIM card inserted. Thing is, I tried this two or three times on the iPhone 5 but the device still doesn't recognize the stupid SIM…EDIT 2: It cannot be restored via iTunes 'cause I get a screen message saying that there's no SIM card in the iPhone I'm attempting to activate. What are the benefits of buying an iPad 2 with wi-fi, or with 3G when I already have an iPhone 4 with 3G? My plan with was to go for wi-fi and connect to the internet through my iPhone 4. Am I missing out on anything by not getting 3G?

Yes. But make sure you buy it at an Apple Store. Other stores selling SIM free iPhones will sell those that will usually lock to the carrier whose SIM is used to first activate the phone. Then you will be stuck.

You can download both at the same time.
But you may wish to start off with one and use it full time, then download the other later, so you get the maximum possible time with both.

Sounds like the iPhone is locked to a wireless carrier in France.
You will have to contact that carrier to see if they offer unlocking
and if you qualify.

I got a sim-free iphone 4s and will travel to Russia soon, my question is can I use Russian local sim card in my phone? is that works?
The only thing I'm sure is Russian network carriers they use same technologies as the UK's, 3G(WCDMA) and 2G(EDGE). But I got several words from carphonewarehouse website, said "SIM free iPhones can only be used with a UK-network SIM card, and will not accept foreign SIM cards."

that is placed in the iPhone and then becomes locked to that carrier
They cannot therefore be used with any other carrier unless the UK carrier authorises unlocking

Quit the Safari app completely and reboot the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -

I contacted my e-mail courier and microsoft, they told me that is was a plugin from Mozilla Firefox. Since then I must go through Java to send or open an e-mail... this is NOT to my satisfaction, it takes too long for all of this to open and if it is not cleared , I am dropping Mozilla and going elsewhere. It might be helpful for us if we knew exactly which web-mail provider you are using. It seems strange to me that viewing or sending web-mail would actually "need" Java for operation, its more likely that some other item on the web page needs Java to run some advertising or other garbage that isn't a necessary part of the web-mail functionality you want to use. -

Well you can sync your iPod/iPhone to yur computer or laptop then take the photos off of your iPod like taking photos of of a SD card (from a normal camera) or off of a USB..! Good Luck. plz tick this saying This solved my question if it helps you.

Pages is not saving document correctly. After saving the changes either do not appear or you can not open the file. The error is "not a valid format" I am in Pages '09 4.1 (923). I also use Parallels. Anyone having similar issues?

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
