I changed my sim card and contact names are gone in messages app.
When I changed my sim card to a Spanish one in messages app's contact names are gone. My contacts are in iphone not in sim card i can see them in contacts but the problem is number are showing in messages not the names.
The SIM is not involved. The iPhone does not save contacts to the SIM. Most likely when you restored the phone as a step in unlocking the phone you did not restore your most recent backup.

The salesperson for my iphone 4 said on Christmas morning we could go to our online account, select my number, select to change my SIM card, and enter the ICCID number so that I'd be able to use my iphone 4 today instead of my old phone (not an iphone). I have not seen any such steps. Help?
I suspect the salesperson that told you that meant your online account with your carrier...have you tried logging into your carrier account online? To do this will require the sim number on your sim card, as well as the phone's IMEI number...you get the sim number off the sim card & the IMEI number, for the phone, is printed on the box.

I changed my sim card and i can't unlocked the iphone (the password reamains the same)
I changed my Sim card and after insert it into the old iPhone (5) I can't unlocked it anymore. I'm using the same 4 number password.
What is the exact error you're getting? Are you sure it's not asking you to unlock the SIM?

after i update my mobile sim card its not working i got message from apple to change the sim card and i cant change it please i want fix the problem
Yes, the message is self-explanatory. You need a carrier who supports Apple's activation policy for an iPhone.

My grandson played with my 4th generation iPod touch and the phone icon and contacts icon are gone. I have gone to settings and done the "reset all settings" and "reset home screen layout" with no success. I also did a hard reset. No luck. I can get to my apps through the search screen but no icons.Help?
Try doing a Spotlight search for the Contacts app.
Read this for doing a search:

Iphone 5 - SIM card and contacts
Are new contacts stored on the SIM card and how do you see what is on the SIM card? Also, why does an old contact name and number (one that is no longer in my contacts app) appear when i start to enter the name of the person i am sending the text to? And lastly, in the same "new message" app when i am trying to compose a new text message and i click on the + symbol to add a new contact, my contacts are displayed in order by last name instead of first name (i have already gone to settings, contacts, sort order and display order and set it to first, last?
Iphone stores NOTHING on the SIM card.

I changed my sim card and now my contact names are gone in iMessage?
So i just unlocked my iPhone and switched the sim card from ATT to another carrier (optus) and wanted to change numbers just because this is a temporary switch.
Now when i go to messages my contacts all appear as phone numbers instead of their names. I still have them in my phone if i go look at the contact/address book but they don't appear in messages.
I want to switch it to names not numbers.
(I still have the original sim and have it backed up to my computer if that helps)The SIM is not involved. The iPhone does not save contacts to the SIM. Most likely when you restored the phone as a step in unlocking the phone you did not restore your most recent backup.

Do I have to have an unlock code to change my SIM card and use my iPad in France
My iPad 2 has an Orange SIM card which is quite expensive to use roaming, during a trip to France at Easter with our camper found it very difficult to find a good WiFi connection (couldn't find anything usable to Skype). I understand that we could now get a Pay as you go SIM from 3 that can be used in Europe, can anyone tell me whether I need an unlock code to swap this over?
Thank youDepends on whether you bought your iPad from Orange on a contract with the SIM already in there or whether you bought the iPad unlocked directly from Apple and then bought a SIM from Orange separately.
If you got it unlocked from Apple then you can put any SIM in there. If you didn't and are still under contract to Orange then I doubt they would allow you to put a Three SIM in there (i.e. unlock it). -
I created an icloud account but my 2 kids shared the same itunes account. I had the kids delete their icloud accounts from their phones. My contacts and my daughter's contacts merged on my phone, when she deleted her icloud account her contacts no longer show names... only phone numbers. How can we fix this?
The only possible way that you could get it back is if the app is still in your iTunes library. If you don't sync with iTunes and it is not in your iTunes library, unfortunately, your version of the app is gone now.

When I try to call, the call always failed.
From a different phone, call your cellular carrier. They need to get involved.

HT3406 What if I do not have the original SIM card and am no longer have an activated iphone?
What if I do not have the original SIM card and am no longer have an activated iphone?
Is the phone locked to a carrier? If it is not locked you should be able to activate it with any SIM and not necessarily an active sim.
USING AN IPHONE AS AN IPOD
Restore your phone as new. Place a SIM card into the phone and connect it your computer with iTunes open and follow the activation assistant to activate the iphone. Once the iphone have been activated remove the SIM card and turn on imessage in settings/messages. Only your Apple ID should appear in the “You can be reached by imessage at” and “Start new conversation from” fields. Read the following article for help http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3406 -
How can I set up two iPhones with the same contact, photos, music etc... but a different sim card and phone number. They will both be my phones, but one will be for use in other countries.
Phone A = phone with information you want duplicated
Phone B = phone that you want to copy from A
Backup Phone A.
Wipe Phone B using these instructions. What to do before selling or giving away your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Phone B should be on the 'Hello' screen. Do not swipe it. Launch iTunes. Plug in Phone B.
When iTunes asks if you want to set up as new phone or restore from backup, choose restore from backup of Phone A.
After this setup, any changes to one phone (i.e. adding a contact, downloading an app) will have to be manually duplicated on the second phone, if that is your desire). Making changes to one phone will not affect the other after setup. -
My iphone 5 broke so had to get a sim card and put it in my husbands old iphone 4. i can not figure out how to get my imformation on this his old phone; contacts, apps ect. i have switched my icloud account and apple id on the phone but nothing has changed. please HELP!
You do a restore as new to wipe the iPhone then at the end of restore you will be asked to restore from backup. Choose your iPhone backup.
Note you cannot restore an IOS newer than the IOS on iPhone, you need to update iPhone first.
