I'd like to go back to a specific date in my messages? I know this has been asked billions of times.

(Specifically April 30 of 2013) but I text a lot so pressing "load earlier messages" isn't an option. Is there anyway I could load the messages on my computer, or is there an app that I could use to search by date? I could get them off my iphone or ipad.

The iPhone (iOS Device) and the Mac will only Sync from the day that both start using the same App ID or OS X 10.8.2 whichever is the earlier.
The "Sync" as Apple calls it was different before this time.
The "Sync" is only "Display on all Devices" and does not involve anything else (if you delete a message on one device it remains on the other)
The iMessages are "pushed" at the devices that have the Apple ID or iPhone number and when the iMessages has been sent that is it.
It will not re-sync if you remove the iMessage.
I really don't use iMessages on my iPhone enough to even try "Load earlier Messages".
If you have synced (Backup) the iPhone onto the Mac using iTunes it is apparently possible to extract the messages from the Backup.
However I don't sync this way and don't know the names of the apps involved.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

My phone was not backed up on icloud due to excess storage size for one month. Recently i lost some contacts by accident. and it was backed up on icloud again this morning .so I would like to reinstall from last month back up to get all contacts back. but when i connected to computer, I only have a choice to reinstall from last 5 months ago which was backed up on my computer manually. You cannot selectively restore from iCloud. You can only do a full device restore by resetting the device and choosing to restore from the iCloud backup during the setup process.

Basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

That was very nice of you to provide your friend with a new phone! I am sorry to say that the device will not be able to activate while in Dubai. For a device to activate it must connect to the VZW network to become active. I apologize for any inconvenience.

My Ipad has been asking me to backup my icloud data....for two weeks. now the reminder notification refuses to leave the screen and i can do nothing on my IPAD, including switching it off.....i hve tried to access my PC and go to icloud and back up data

We need to be clear here. Did you create a second ID, or just modify the single ID?

if you have no back up in icloud or itunes the best you can do is sync with your computer and get back what you can from there

Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

I am not happy with Adobes service. I have been charged TWICE and my Creative Cloud is NOT working. Still says I'm on a trail version and yet my trial is up??? I bought a new phone for my Daughter, set it up to my iTunes account as she is only 11 and all of my contacts synced to her phone, so we went in and deleted them all, problem was, they deleted off my phone over wifi apparently,,, not good I can't find a way to get them back

You did more than sync the new iPhone with iTunes since syncing with iTunes does not include text messages.
The first time a new iPhone is connected to iTunes that is used to sync with another iPhone or iOS device, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device or set up the device as a new iPhone.
The former replaces all data on the iPhone that is included with the selected backup for the other iPhone or iOS device. The latter does not.
If a backup for your new iPhone was not created with iCloud or if created and has been updated since the backup was transferred from the other iPhone or iOS device, the previous data on the new iPhone is gone.

HT1379 My computer I-mac is running super slow. If I zap the PRAM it goes back to running well , briefly... a few hours, then back to super slow. What is the resolution for this problem? I have a Time machine that does back up well.

My computer is running super slow. I can correct the problem briefly by zapping the PRAM but is resumes as a problem after a few hours. I have good time machine (capusle) backup daily. I have done a disk verify and there doesn't appear to be anything wrong there.
Help, this is wasting a lot of time to do simple functions.

32Gb iphone 4 upgrade to 4s hung on step 8 Syncing genius data. What do I do, it has been over an hour. The back up location file size is not getting larger

Just got my new 4S. Backing up my 4 via USB and it has been over an hour 20GB on phone. It seems stuck at Step 8 Syncing Genius Data to Steve;s iPhone. Waiting for items to copy. The phone has the circles going round and round at the top right.
Do I cancel?

I Steve, I was having this issue with my iPhone 4 for now reason it started 'waiting for date' forever after the genius. In the end i reset it back to factory and resored from the last back up and all is well again.
