I dowloaded garageband it askedd for my password to make changes and it rejected my pw I use this pw daily to access any suggestions please?

The password you are being prompted for when installing content on your Mac is your computer's administrator password. It might be the same as your login password, but it could be different. If you need to reset your administrator password please follow the instructions in the link below.

Sorry, I don't know what other details I should provide. My friend has a program installed which lets him know out loud what is happening as he navigates, but it's been quite a process for him to attach files; he often requires help and it would certainly be easier with a hotkey.
I did check the hotkeys list on this site and discovered a whole lot of hotkeys I never knew existed, but none for attaching a file to an email. Any ideas that might be helpful are welcome, however I should say up front that I'm not nearly at the technical level most people on here obviously are. Something keeps trying to download on my mac and I don't know what it is. It is not in the apple store and just comes out nowhere and request for my password to download something and I don't know what it is. How to make this stop? It pops up every single day.

I can, with 99.99% certainty, tell you that you are absolutely right in not wanting to download or install this "Helper," whatever it is (but we can be equally certain it would not "help" anything).
I cannot comment as to Oglethorpe's recommendation of 'adwaremedic'; I am unfamiliar with it. His links to the Apple discussion and support pages warrant your time and attention.
It might be really simple -- Trying looking in your Downloads folder, trash anything that you don't know with certainty is something you want to keep, and then Secure Empty your Trash. Then remove the AdBlock extension, LastPass, and Web of Trust extensions to Safari and re-boot. If the issue goes away, still be extraordinarily careful in the future.
Unfortunately, it's probably not going to be that simple to get rid of, in which case I'd then try the line by line editing in HT203987.
I have no further suggestions (other than a complete wipe and re-install...but that's a pain because trying to restore from Time Machine would simply ... restore the Mal).
For the rest of us, please post when you find a solution.

my nephew lend me his iPad and I have wi-fi service @ home, I get the wi-fi icon on top of iPad, it's activated but when I open Safari to go online it ask me for the password which I have and type in. It tells me I have typed incorrect pw. What's wrong? I even called my internet server and they cant help! They're saying my nephew must have a block. I asked my nephew and he said "what r they talking about, I have no block" Can anyone help ME PLZ.
When you go to Settings > WiFi and see your network name does it have a padlock icon to the right of the network name? If so it is a secured network with a password.
How did you connect to your network from the iPad? From Settings > Wifi? Was a network password requested? Was it accepted?
If you touch the ">" to the right of your network name what do you see for IP Address, Subnet Mask, Router, and DNS? -
I cannot get scrabble to work on my ipod touch. It only works on my macbook. I've uploaded, deleted, reloaded and nothing seems to work. It asks for a password but will not let me in. Anyone else have this problem?

My computer is asking for my password to make any changes to the root directory, system and Library folders, and and sub folders within those. I dont recall it doing this in the past. I am logged in as the Administrator.

I had no problem connecting to my network and now all of a sudden I can't connect my iPad. Instead of prompting me for a password it comes back and says unable to join the network ("name") and then the option is Dismiss. Anyone else have that problem? I've gone thru all my settings and can't seem to find a way to log into my network. Don't get the option to put in my password. It just give me the name of my network and option of dismiss instead of password.

I just bought a used Macbook Pro. How do I make the changes to make it personal. Example the iTunes comes up as the old user and I have to have his password to make changes on the laptop. Can you make any suggestions?
Also I cant make a right click on the pad. Is that normal?Your first going to have to remove all your personal data off the machine to a external storage drive, do not use TimeMachine when it asks as this will copy the entire drive and is unnecessary at this time (also takes too long).
You need to drag and drop copy your personal data folders (Music, Pictures, Movies etc) to a external storage drive, once done, unmount and disconnect this drive.

Next your going to follow the Zero Erase and install method for your OS X version, either 10.6 or 10.7, here
How to reinstall just OS X or erase/install OS X
10.7 requires your AppleID and password to install, so make sure to have that ready.
Once you reboot your into the real setup of OS X, which will require your name etc, so it's now your machine.
Install your programs, iLife package is only free for the owner of the machine.
If you have the 10.6 machine specific disks, then it's on there.
If your using 10.7, then you'll have to purchase it from the App Store.
Last, return your files from the storage drive, consider setting up a TimeMachine or clone on the external drive. -
