I forgot my passcode to my ipad. I recovered it on my laptop w/ iTunes, but i need wifi and it won't connect wifi to the locked ipad. What should i do?
I knew I needed to restore my ipad, since the password was locked. I held the device's home button down, and connected to itunes on my mac. it connected, and said it needed to like do some factory settings, so i did, and it took about 15 minutes while also updating.when it finished it said i needed wifi on my ipad. i dont know why i had no wifi on it. i have fine wifi and i put the ipad in the most avalible wifi room in the house. but i havent used the ipad in weeks so maybe thats why.
What should i do?

Connect the iPod to your computer and restore via iTunes. If iTunes asks for the passcode and you can't enter the passcode, place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore. For recovery mode:

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

Try it and good luck. You have nothing more to lose if it doesn't work for you.

I forgot my passcode for my iPad. How do I retrieve it?
Try and force iPad into Recovery Mode:
1. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
2. Connect USB cable to computer, leave the other end alone
3. Press and hold the Home button down and connect the docking end of cable to iPad
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect To iTune" screen
5. Release the Home button
6. Open iTune
7. You should see "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode"
8. Use iTune to restore iPad
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad -

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

So my iPad 2 that I just recently got has a very noticeable dent on the bottom of it going up(almost in half) in landscape mode. The dent won't let third party hard cases slide on it, and the screen is bleeding extra, and there is a white dot on the screen in the general area of the dent on the back.
What should I do, that isnt too expensive.
I do think this dent was caused by me but I am not sure, I have never really looked from the side of it before...
Thanks.Take it to an apple store for repair. It will cost you but it will be cheaper than buying a new one.

I just purchased a second hand iPad in carboot.i didn't realised that the old accnt is still linked to the device, now I icant activate my account .I don't know where and how to contact the original owner.what should I do activate my accnt?is there any other option?
Apple cannot help you locate the original owner. If you have no way to contact him/her, and you purchased directly from the seller rather than through a site that offers buyer protection, then the iPad is useless to you and you have wasted your money. The iPad is quite probably stolen and you should turn it in to the police.
This is why it's very risky and usually unwise to purchase out of a car boot from someone you don't know.
