I found an ipod and it has a password on it and im trying to get into the ipod to possibly find out who it belongs to. can anyone help me?

so  found this ipod today on the ground near my grandmothers friends house. It has a password on it and i am not sure how to get into it to possibly see if i can find out who it belongs to. any ideas how to even get passed the password?

Call the police. Give them the device's serial number which is etched on the back. If it's been reported lost with a serial number they can then return it to the owner. If not then you are the proud new owner of an iPod Touch.
