Welcome to the Support Communities! The article below will explain what steps to take when you give your iPhone to someone else. Your carrier can help you transfer your husband's cell phone number to the iPhone 4S.
If your husband does not already have an Apple ID, you will need to create a new one for him, so that your contacts, calendars, notes, etc. in iCloud are separate from his. Once he has his own Apple ID and telephone number, these will be linked on the iPhone 4S and he will no longer receive your telephone calls.

I have tried deleting the account and it deletes all my contacts. I have verizon and even using back up assistant, it says the contacts are there but they aren't. The only way i can find a contact is if I start to type a name in and new text but once i sent the new text, the name disappears and it just shows the number. Siri nor the address book don't recognize any contacts at all.

My partner and I both have iPhone 5s and an iPad. We registered all three products with the same iTunes account as we download music and movies together. I have noticed when my partner sends me a message it also appears on my phone that I have sent it AND recieved it. The same goes for when I text him. To stop this, don't use the same Apple ID on both phones for iMessage and FaceTime. (You can continue to use the same ID for iTunes; it doesn't need to be the same as the ID used for iMessage or FaceTime.)
On one of the phones, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with a different ID. Then do the same thing in Settings>FaceTime.

Have him sync his phone to iTunes on his own computer/account, and it should put everything back for him.

Also, if you are sharing an Apple ID, you will get his iMessages.

I am very happy to report that my server connection tech, which I called via landline, informed me to : 1. Open Tools 2. Scan down to Clear Recent History 3. Delete All. That was it! Unbelievable! Six hours of searching through the Windows catagories. I checked the results on an internet site, and viola! It was gone! Mozilla Firefox seems to remember the usernames and passwords irregardless of the option window that asks if you if want it to remember the user and password. I finally got in touch with my friend and he said he did not answer yes to the window, even though he was aware of it. No damage. I surely do appreciate everyones' concern in this, now what seems to be, a very simple solution. Cudos to Firefox! Thank-you! P.S. I now have to enter my information at the beginning of any password protected sites...no harm done! My friend is now condemned to the 'user account' site! lol...

You'll have to set up his mail account again. To change the name, follow this article: iTunes: How to rename your device
After that right click on it in the device list and choose backup. A manual backup will be made, no sync process is included. When the backup is finished you should find it listed in iTunes/Edit/Preferences/Devices

When I plug my phone into my PC with the USB cable an advertisement starts playing on my PC. The advertisement is for an add-on product called Backup Assistant Plus. How can I stop this?
I read of a work-around to stop this, but it does not meet my needs. The work-around is to change your USB connection option from "mass storage device" to the one of the options about uploading pictures. This would not work for me because I'm connecting the cable so I can access the phone's memory as a mass storage device!
This is a seriously obnoxious problem affecting millions of people. It's a common conversation in bars, and all the iPhone fans are saying--yea, I told you so, stuff from Motorola is junk. I'd recommend that it be fixed as soon as possible!

Yes, you can stop it. When you plug in the phone, down in the lower right of your screen, click and pull up the Motorola Device Manager. Do as you please with it.

When I first got an iPhone, I didnt have my own iTunes account. So in turn i used my Dads. Well being unaware of what i was doing, I synced my iPhone to his account. Well a couple of months ago, i started using my moms apple ID to buy things in the app store, and i started recieving her text messages. How can i unsync my husbands iphone 5s with my iphone 4s which was previously his phone

My husband recently upgraded his 4s to a new 5s. I was desperate for a new phone & wasn't due an upgrade at the time, so he very kindly gave me his 4s as apposed too ebaying. This is my first ever iPhone, however, I have an iTunes account for my 8GB ipod nano & my 16GB ipad2, so over time I've spent a lot of money on a huge collection of music, ibooks & various apps. I thought it would be a nice touch to repay my hubby the favour for giving me his 4s, by syncing his new 5s up with my iTunes account, allowing him too have access to all the music we both enjoy. However, it's become apparent that he actually has access to a lot more than just my music, we share pretty much all data that is added & stored on one another's phone, i.e. contacts, photos, imessages, etc etc! speaking from us both, even though we don't have anything sinister or disloyal to hide from one another, we both feel it's kind of slightly weird that we can view & read all info that we store on our phones, & that it's kind of an infringement on each others privacy & rights too personal space, as individuals & with our friends & family. Could someone please, please advise us & HELP us sort this mess? We're so not up there on modern technology many thanks

If what you want to do is share your purchases with one Apple ID and have other stuff separate, that's pretty easy.
Check out the section "Use one Apple ID for iCloud and a different Apple ID for Store purchases" in this article.

Basically he would use your Apple ID for the Stores (iTunes, Apps, iBooks) and his Apple ID for everything else (Mail, Contacts, Calendars, FaceTime, Messages etc).
Now if he has been purchasing stuff on his own account then you would have to make some choices on the purchase accounts.
You may also want to check out Family Sharing, which allows people to share purchases within a familly, each having their own IDs.

Iphone 4 automatically sending nuisance/ viral e-mail messages from my yahoo account to members of my phone/ e-mail/ facebook contact list. What can I do to stop this?

This has occurred on 2 different occassions. In both cases, I can not identify a viral email that I would have opened that could have started this as we are very cautious about opening unknown emails, and definately NEVER double click on links that come through in nuisance/ spam type e-mails.
This morning was the second time that it appears my iphone was somehow involved in automatically sending out a mass nuisance message to all my contacts (phone contacts/ facebook contacts/ yahoo contacts). The email contained no message - except for a single link to an unknown destination of course since I refuse to dbl click on it to see what I have sent out to my friends.
This is the second time it has happened. I have posted on facebook to all my friends to not open the message. I have deleted ALL my contacts from both my phone and from yahoo contact list. I even deleted facebook and all it's info. from my phone to remove their contact lists. I don't want this to keep happening to my friends. The only thing I haven't deleted is my phone contacts (phone numbers) but I am assuming it may very well happen again since the automatic message was also sent to my phone contacts. (Not sure how that even happens - an auto email to a phone number?)
I have been reading on this site that it is nearly impossible to get a virus on your iphone - however, what other explanation is there? I don't have a PC - I don't have any Windows products in my home. We own 1 ipad and 2 iphones at the moment. I never access my yahoo account from anywhere but my MAC products. if it's a message coming from your yahoo account, it means that your account has been compromised, not your phone itself. i would suggest changing the password for your email account

Iphoto is deleting photos off my camera and phone etc. when I download them to my mac. It asks if I want to keep or save them and even if I say keep its deleting them off the media card etc. What can I do to stop this. It has only just started doing this.

An update was requested in my iphone settings to sync my iphone with itunes. In my attempt to do this, I chose to sync with my old phone and lost all recent photos and apps. Is there any way to reverse this mess and retrieve what I had?

So, what i need to is
1. Check my iphone backup first if avaiable
2. Do ' restore ' my iphone at itunes
Is it correct?
After i do all of this, what is the next step? Is it
1. Just plug in back my iphone and itunes will automatically sync asking to use a backup ipnone?
Or need to do manually?
