I get a "URL is invalid and cannot be loaded" message, and will not load any web pages
I use Firefox to get onto the internet but when the Firefox page comes up I get a small pop up on the screen that says "URL is not valid and cannot be loaded". I try to type what I am searching for in the google or yahoo search bar and this same pop up still occurs. I cannot go on any websites at all. Help!
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
* Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
* Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
In Firefox 4 you can use one of these to start in <u>[[Safe mode]]</u>:
* Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
* Hold down the Shift key while double clicking the Firefox desktop shortcut (Windows)

Ralph..........Did as you suggested and I am still getting the message "Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding". I am not able to connect with anything on the Internet. Frustrating since I am able to connect with my laptop. Thanks for the suggestion.

Help! My iTunes is getting stuck on the backup and will not go any further
I have just bought a new iPhone 4S and would like it to have everything that my iPhone 4 had on it but it is proving very difficult. I have tried multiple times to back up my old phone without success - I did think that with the cloud and all the new **** that I wouldn't need to plug my iPhones in ever again but this does not seem to be the case at all. I have managed to back up my old phone on my laptop and have since put my apps, contacts, calendars, messages etc onto my new phone but now I would like my music which is on my PC. This is where the problem is - iTunes on my PC will not back up my old phone and it will now not sync with my new phone either... Is there a way around this or will I have to suffer with having no music on my new phone?? It seems that everytime I upgrade my phone I always have some sort of issue with iTunes - I just thought this time would be different with the new software etc...?
If anyone has any advice on the subject it would be very very greatly appreciated.Go to iTunes/Edit/Preferences/Devices and delete your latest backup. iTunes has to be able to read your backup in order to replace it, if it can't be read, iTunes will stop at step one, which is backing up the device.

Since the last update to Snow Leopard- My computer seems to perform fine, but when I restart the computer or shut it down and then turn it back on- it gets hung. SOmetimes I get the You need to restart screen. But, most times, it goes to the blue screen. The mouse shows up and the dissappears. It shows back up and the dissappears again. Then the system working spiral comes on and off every few seconds. But- it never gets to the sign in screen. ANyone know how to fix? What am I doing wrong?
Does your iMac fail to boot every time or only some of the time? Here are some things to try:
- Boot into "safe mode", which will run the equivalent of Disk Utility's "repair disk" operation.
- Boot from the system install disc that came with that Mac with the "D" key held down to run the diagnostics. Run them several times to see if any hardware problems are reported.
- If you can't identify the problem or fix it any other way, download and install the OS X 10.6.7 "combo" updater.
- If that still doesn't help, try reinstalling OS X 10.6 over the top of what's on the disk. -
I have a new computer that will not have any web browser installed when I acquire it. So, I cannot download Firefox, say, using Internet Explorer. Can I get a copy of Firefox on a CD and use that instead.

JMake sure that your date and time settings and time zone are accurate (Settings - General - Date and Time). Reset your phone to 'Set Automatically' and then try signing in again - this worked for me. My date/time settings were not automatic (candy crush cheats!!).

My MacBook Pro won't load any web page I have restarted and safe booted still nothing
My MacBook Pro will not load any web pages. Safari opens but when I click on top sites or type in a website it will start but not get past half of the address before stopping and going no further. I have restarted and restarted in safe boot and still no change. I'm am connected to the internet wirelessly and my iPad mini is connecting to the internet wirelessly fine, so I think the internet is fine. What can I try next?

It sounds like you are unable to re install iTunes because the Apple Mobile Device service failed to start. Try restarting it with the following article:

Close iTunes and disconnect the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

After the Apple Mobile Device service has started again, open iTunes and connect the device.

Remove and reinstall iTunes and AMDS
If the issue continues after restarting AMDS, then you'll need to remove and reinstall AMDS and iTunes.

Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
3. Click the First Aid tab.
4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
