I got a wrong tracefile path

Hi,
In initPostgreSQL.ora file,I set ODBCINI=/etc/odbc.ini.
In odbc.ini file,I set the tracefile path on /tmp/odbc.log.
When I got some error in sqlplus,I will got some log in the trace file.
but it always wrote log on /tmp/sql.log.
I don't have set path on /tmp/sql.log .
I don' t know why it wrote on wrong file?

the sql.log file is the ODBC trace. When ODBC tracing is enabled, then every tool using ODBC will create the trace file.
When using DG4ODBC you can trace the gateway it self. common trace levels are on, debug and 255. When gateway tracing is turned on, you get the trace wiles written into $OH/hs/log.The gateway trace contains the gateway calls as well as SQL statements sent to the foreign database.
The other option is to enable ODBC tracing. This sort of trace contains only the ODBC API calls and some statements. With UnicODBC it is turned on using the odbcinst.ini file by adding to a generic [ODBC] section the parameters provided earlier.
who created the sql.log file ? => every application that uses ODBC (like isql, gateway etc.)
Is it created by Gateway? => it can be created by the gateway when you have turned on ODBC tracing and start a gateway process - but also isql will create a sql.log file when ODBC tracing is turned on.
Is it a default path and file? => the default depends from the driver manager and its version, but most commonly in /tmp and called sql.log.
