To migrate your data to a new iCloud account go to Settings>iCloud and turn off all synced data (contacts, calendars, etc.), when prompted choose to keep the data on your phone. After everything is set to off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. Next, create the new iCloud account on your phone and turn on syncing for contacts, calendars, etc again. If prompted, choose Merge. This will upload your data to the new iCloud account.

HT201412 my apple ipad will turn on but i only get the apple sign and cannot get past that

I can turn on my ipad but only the apple sign will appear. the secreen is black with only the apple sign showing. I push the start buttron on and off and it will not do anything but show the apple icon. I also pudsh to top right hand button and hold the button for 5 second and it will not do anything. This has never happened to me before. It is fully charged. Can someone tell help get past this and tell me how to reset? I do not know what operating system i have.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer

Thank you Roger, your solution gave me the courage to sign out of Systems Preferences. The pop up told me it was going to delete my contact and other information from my mac, so I was hesitant to do that. Well I did as you directed and I was able to sign in with my new apple id and I did not lose the information the pop up threatened I was going to. So again thank you. It is the little things that make a big difference sometimes.

I had the same thing happen to me. It's a bug in iPhoto 9.4.2.
The first time you run iPhoto after upgrading to iPhoto 9.4.2, it "updates the iPhoto library". This sometimes tickles a bug where iTunes can see all your iPhoto albums, but iTunes thinks they are empty. Since iTunes thinks all your albums are empty, it dutifully deletes any photos from your synced iOS devices.
It's easy to tell if this is the problem you are seeing. Open iTunes and go to the photos sync panel for one of your iOS devices. If you have multiple albums checked, but iTunes shows a total of 0 photos, then you have the problem.
I spent an hour with an Apple Genius. he couldn't find any mention of this problem in their internal support system. His recomendation was to reinstall the operating the system. I suspect that this won't solve it.
The only solution I have found is to restore iPhoto 9.4.1 and the corresponding iPhoto library from your backups.
I would refrain from upgrading to iPhoto 9.4.2 until Apple has a fix for this issue.

Thanks but I had already read this, and it was no help at all. Under the Summary tab, "Options", there is no check-box to manually manage my stuff. I suspect this is because it is a 2nd gen iPod, with ONLY manual management. The only way to delete my stuff seems to be to reset the entire device.
I like to listen to podcasts. What is particularly frustrating is that the 4th gen shuffle CANNOT play podcasts, but ONLY music, which I discovered after a lot of research and multiple visits to an Apple store. You have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use. If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPad on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iPad when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

If you see that pop up you enabled icloud. Whether you want or do not want now to use it irrelevant until you actually disable activation lock.
In order to do that you have to change your apple id back to do that just long enough to sign in and back out. System will ask you to verify, don't.
Just sign in on the prompt you getting and then logout. Once done, change apple id to what you have now and verify. Then decide if you want to
use icloud (who does not want to be able to track their phone if lost or stolen).

One possibility is that you may need to "Upgrade" your Cable /DSL Modem if you have an older unit. ISP's that provide your Internet service in recent years have been switching over from DOCSIS 2.1 version Modems to DOCSIS 3.0 version Modems, which handle the new higher data streaming speeds the ISP's are offering. I would suggest you call your ISP's Technical Support and inquire about this possibility.

As I told you, you have to do some steps before upgrading to OS X Mountain Lion.
First of all, make a backup of your files using Time Machine and/or Carbon Copy Cloner. If you make both, good, but if you only make one, it's OK, too.
OS X Lion and OS X Mountain Lion aren't compatible with PowerPC applications, so you have to check if your applications are compatible > http://www.roaringapps.com If you have to update an application, do it before upgrading, because the Mountain Lion installer moves unsupported applications to a separate folder.
After doing that, open Disk Utility, select "Macintosh HD" in the sidebar and repair permissions. Then, verify the disk to check if it's OK. If everything is right, just open the App Store and purchase OS X Mountain Lion

Purchase an external hard drive and use the backup software that comes with it to backup files from your computer.
Buy TouchCopy and install it on your new computer, connect your old iPod and transfer your songs to your computer.
