I have 2 desktops. mine and my sons. His is controlled by parental controls, when firefox downloaded the latest version he is no longer able to get on firefox on his desktop. please help.
I have Cox Internet service, which allows me to control what content other users on my computer see and do. My son has parental controls which do not allow him to view certain websites, download programming, ext... With this last update to Firefox, I am still able to get on the internet, but when he tries to click on the Firefox icon on his desktop it tells him there has been an error and shuts down. He is forced to use Internet Explore. I do not want him using this web browser. Please help us get him back on Firefox.

Add-ons are the responsibility of their authors. McAfee does not even put their extension on http://addons.mozilla.org you had to install it from their site.
Disable "McAfee Site Advisor" extension which was just updated to 3.4.0, which probably took it out of the addons block list.
* "Ctrl+Shift+A" > find McAfee Site Advisor and use "Disable", and then restart Firefox.
* Do a Google Search no problem
* It seems that if you re-enable Site Advisor again, and restart Firefox you are okay. At least you know where to look if you get the error again or Google searches slow down.

If you have two displays attached, then the function to change from mirrored to extended Desktop will appear in System Prefs/Displays. -
When downloading the latest version of itunes the download freezes everytime but not always at the same percent. I have tried selecting the download only option and still didnt work. Please help!

You see this screen when you right-click on the ItunesSetup.exe in your Downloads folder.
downloads>ItunesSetup.exe (right-click)>yourself as admin & UNCHECK THAT BOX!> conntinue with new installation and even find your old playlists still intact!!
This is apparently a Windows XP fix alone. MSVCR80.dll is (probably) reinstalled by Itunes under a partnership aggreement with Microsoft.

Ever since I downloaded the latest version of Firefox a few days ago, whenever I open a web page the whole page is on the extreme right. I have to move the resizing tool at the bottom right of my window and then the page immediately pops back to the proper set up. My computer is iMac, 10.6.7.

HI! As I've written on the title, since I've downloaded the iTunes latest version, I'm not able to sync my iPhone5 anymore... it just doesn't sync. I've already checked the usb cable, and uninstalled the software and downloaded again... and it's just the same. I have a Window 8 and I'm not receiving a running error problem... so... Yes reinstalled itunes a couple of days ago but got it sorted now thanks, the problem was that when i wiped my computer last week and reinstalled everything using the discs the free McAfee anti virus that the computer came with was still in my all programmes list although i aren't using it. This morning i tried unistalling that (didn't think it would make any difference as the programme wasn't active) once uninstalled i pluged the ipod in and hey presto it is now recognised by itunes, THANK GOODNESS. So panick over for now, thank you very much.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

I was updating iTunes to version 11.1.4 and the installation failed. I follwed all the steps from the Apple Support website to uninstall iTunes. The Apple Mobile Device Support would not uninstall, but I proceeded based on info from the support community. I am now trying to download and install iTunes. I show that iTunes has downloaded, but I cannot get the installer program to open/run. Any suggestions for what I might try?

What version if the OS do you have? What version of iPhoto did you have, what version did you download (and from where), what version do you have currently installed and what is the exact error message you get?

When I try to download the latest version of iTunes from apple.com, I get the message "Content was blocked because it was not signed by a valid security certificate."When I open iTunes and try to download the latest version there, I get the message "iTunes has an invalid signature. The download has been removed." I have also gotten an Internet Script Error stating that an error has occured in Line 0, Char O and that "Access is denied to images.apple.com/global/scripts/lib/iepngfix.htc." This problem has never occurred with earlier versions of ITunes. Anyone know how to fix this problem?
Are you downloading iTunes form an Apple website or somewhere else? If the answer is somewhere else, try downloading it from Apple. Click on iTunes in the black menu bar above and go from there.

I downloaded the latest version of itunes. I am now getting the message that my ipod is in recovery and needs to be restored. When I click to restore, it says it does not recognize this device. Now my ipod is frozen with an image of a cord and an arrow pointing toward the itunes icon. All was working fine before the download!
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My internal hard drive isn't being recognized on my macbook pro but when I put the HD in my Mac Pro (desktop), the desktop computer recognizes the HD. When I insert the installer CD on my laptop, it also doesn't recognize my hard drive. Please help! Thank you!

I use a desktop version of Lightroom and am wanting to move to the Cloud version. What happens to my files, etc., on my desktop when I download the cloud version? I don't want to lose my metadata, etc. If anyone out there knows, please let me know.
I just installed LR CC and am having trouble opening catalogs where I followed the instructions to upgrade. Just posted a question about it.
Discovered a problem when I went looking for some images that were not included in the most recent catalog. After opening up a couple of older ones and upgrading, I went back to the most recent and couldn't opening. Message says it is not writable. And also says it may be due to incorrect permissions. If you have any suggestions for this, I would love to hear them. -

Uninstalling or reinstalling the iTunes application won't affect your music (data) -- but it's always a good idea to have a backup!

Jolly Giant gave good advice re. ITunes and unable to download the latest version on my older Mac Mini. I downloaded ITunes 9.2 as he suggested but came to a standstill at the place where we "agree" with terms. Couldn't open this without Iwork which I don't have. Help! Carolyn
Hello, no way you should need iWork to "Agree"!?
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
And if you're really at 10.4.2, then get this and apply it...

I have an iMac11.2 and am running Mac OS 10.6.8. I have not had a problem viewing videos until the past week or so. Now I cannot view videos on my news, facebook or in email messages at all. A message pops up in the window that says "Blocked plug-in". I have downloaded the latest version of Flash Player for which it asks and still no luck. Can anyone here help me with this? Thank you.
