I have a 2008 macbook and everything is to date except Adobe Flash player which I can no longer download. When i try, it will not allow me to push "install." Is there another product I can use or is there a way to install this? I am using Firefox 4.0 btw.
For some reason my adobe flash player will not load or reinstall. I keep getting a screen from adobe that says quit or intall but there is no button for the install to push. Only the quit is useable. I want to be able to view video but can't. Does this have to do with Firefox 4? I have deleted multiple unable to be downloaded installs or misinstalls of adobe flash player. Help!

I am having microphone trouble on my Mac Book Pro during face time. Others cannot hear me. Microphone symbol has a line through it but will not allow me to change from muted to unmuted. "Mute" under Video tab is greyed out and internal microphone is selected. System Preferences show that internal microphone is working. I have tried to restart computer, no difference. When you have kernel panics, the pertinent information is in the panic report.
These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ System Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of reports. A panic report has a name that begins with "Kernel" and ends in ".panic". Select the most recent one. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a panic, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway. -

just got an Ipad and am working on setting it up. the one issue I am having with it is my screen will not rotate no matter what I do to the settings, I can't figure out if I have a setting wrong or if there really is something wrong with my Ipad. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a iMac version 10.6.8 and used to have adobe flash player my laptop requires me to download the latest version of the player but warns me that there is a "risk" downloading from the internet. Anyone else experienced this and may have some solutions
Install it directly from Adobe. Ensure that you use the uninstaller before installing.

No Flash for iPads, iPhones, or iPods
Here's why there's is no Flash available for iDevices or other mobile devices. Adobe was unable to provide a product that was suitable to the needs of battery powered mobile devices used for Internet browsing. Existing Flash technology used too much memory, ate battery life, and was buggy. Simply put Flash did not work well on mobile devices.
Apple's Steve Jobs led the escape from Flash dependency when Apple introduced the iPhone, and later introduced the iPad. There was a hue and cry over the omission. Time proved Jobs was right on target.
So this is why there is no Flash for your iPhone or iPad or iPod nor for most SmartPhones. Flash has been abandoned by many sites in favor of supported technologies such as HTML5 or by providing their own custom app.

Now, you are not necessarily out on a limb. There are some apps that can display some Flash, but don't count on there ability to display anything using Flash.

Also, note that many sites that use Flash provide their own app for accessing their material. So check with your favorite sites and find out if "there's an app for that." -
I have lost track of the number of websites which do not work properly on my iPad. They include retail sites, billing sites and most important of all job application sites. They all seem to require Adobe Flash Player which cannot be downloaded onto an iPad. Skyfire does not solve the problem. They all load without vital parts of the site such as tabs, links and correct formatting. Any suggestions?
Most such brower/service combinations have a difficult time working with Flash-based apps and often fail completely. Flash videos are usually the most successful content these browers can handle. You can try the others apps - Puffin, iSwifter, etc - but you may find that none of them work, in which case you will not be able to use your iPad with these sites other than by using one of the various remote control solutions to take over a computer running the full Flash Player.
IMHO, any developer that built a Flash application for a billing or job application site was an idiot, but I know that's out of the control of anyone but the relevant company.

Check your system preferences.
My copy of flash installed as a preferance pane.
If its there you will be able to check the current installed version and set preferences for flash and updating. -
How can I import a movie into iMovie 09 from a hard drive? The movie will open and play in idvd but breaks into separate files that can't be downloaded when I try to import. Can it be done? I am trying to create a disc of player highlights for a collegiate coach, and I am using movie files downloaded to my hard drive from a DVD created on a PC.
No unfortunately it won't open in quicktime either. It does the same thing that Imovie does, separates it into two file folders audio and video, and if i select video it opens to reveal 8 files that cannot be selected. VIDEO_TS.BUP, VIDEO_TS.IFO, VIDEO_TS.VOB,VTS_01_0.BUP, VTS_01_0.IFO, VTS_01_1.VOB, VTS_01_2.VB, VTS_01_3.VOB. All of which cannot be opened or selected.
Opening it in Idvd and folllowing your suggestion works and I get a format code of NTSC. Is that the same? Thank you for your time and response.

You are downloading the Flash installer, which I think itself downloads another installer, which may again download something else that has to run. Adobe's installer is one of the worst pieces of software on the PLANET.
That said, the problem is that you are not actually running the installer and letting it update Flash. Doing so will force you to quit Safari in the process.
Go look for whatever Adobe downloaded to your Downloads folder and run it. -

when using more than one tab, once I have opened a .pdf using firefox my laptop will not allow me to type or click in another tab unless I drag the .pdf into it's own window? not a major problem just irritating.
I found the cause but no solution, it's actually a plugin that does that: divx plus weblpayer (it gets installed when you install DivX on your system), if you disable it and restart firefox it all works again. But I want that plugin... so DivX need to fix this, unless it is a Firefox bug in its own core... anyway these two together creates the problem.
(I'm running Firefox 9.x on OSX Lion)

Purchased an IPAD mini 2 today. I am trying to transfer apps such as Angry Birds and not lose my progress. New IOS will not allow sharing of apps. Any ideas on how I can do this?
You can transfer the games but you will lose your game progress. now if you've played through game center you might keep something, but I'm not sure, I turn that off. But when I transferred my angry birds from my touch to my ipad i had to replay the levels over

I clicked on update and downloaded the update from Adobe and installed it.
Every time i get an error saying - "that this wasn't downloaded from App Store".
i can not find it in App Store.

After upgrading Foxfire 11 on my vista software, Adobe Flash Player - Ver 10.1. I downloaded and nothing is viewable. I have unchecked all security and my computer says it is updated and everything that I use in foxfire says the plugin are missing or to download the flash player.
