I keep being asked to download a new version of adobe flash player which i have done so several times but i still can't see videos i.e. face book because it still asks me to download the latest version any ideas ?

when i click on a video say on Facebook i am asked to download the latest version of adobe flash player which i have but it still keeps asking me any ideas ?

You are downloading the Flash installer, which I think itself downloads another installer, which may again download something else that has to run. Adobe's installer is one of the worst pieces of software on the PLANET.
That said, the problem is that you are not actually running the installer and letting it update Flash. Doing so will force you to quit Safari in the process.
Go look for whatever Adobe downloaded to your Downloads folder and run it.

  • My computer keeps telling me to authorize it, I have done so several times but it keeps telling me to

I am trying to transfer movies I've purchased through iTunes from my Macbook Pro to my iPad. iTunes keeps telling me I need to authorize my computer to download the movies onto my iPad. I have "authorized" it several times, but each time I sync it, it continues to tell me to authorize my computer. How do I fix this problem?

It may not be the computer that needs authorizing, but the iPad. Is your iPad using the same Apple ID as the computer on which you purchased the movies? On the iPad, go to Settings -> iTunes & App Stores and check the Apple ID shown there. If it's not the same Apple ID as the one used to purchase the movies, tap that Apple ID button on the iPad to sign out and then sign in with the correct Apple ID.

  • Why do I keep getting a notice to install Flash Player.  I have done it 3 times now.

Why do I keep getting notifications to install Flash Player.  I have installed it 3 times now.

You are getting notifications to install Flash Player due to the fact that it is out of date. Unfortunately, Adobe has discontinued Flash Player since version 10.1 for PowerPC Macs. However that will not stop you from taking advantage of Flash on Facebook and other sites like YouTube.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3599648
Follow that link down to the post by Texas Mac Man. Download the attached file and follow the instructions. You will then be able to use Facebook and YouTube fully. It is still Flash 10.1 but it will show to your Mac as 11.
I hope this will be able to help you.

  • OS X 10.6.8 and missing plugin for videos despite latest version of Adobe flash player. Any suggestions please?

I have OS X 10.6.8. Despite downloaded latest version of Adobe flash player and VLC 2.0.4 I`m in trouble with `missing plugin` for videos. Any suggestion please?

Uninstall old Flash plugins then reinstall new ...
Uninstall > Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
Very important uninstall the old one first.
    Then reinstall >  http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/?promoid=JZEFT

Assuming Allan's advice is not correct, and you do run the installer, I think I've heard of that problem and it involves removing the old Flash plug-ins, then install the new version. I don't use it so I don't know what they are called, but will be the /Library/Internet Plug-ins folder.
You can go here and enable HTML5 in YouTube so you don't have to use Flash: http://www.youtube.com/html5
Most(?) of the content is HTML5, but you may run into videos where you still need Flash.

  • In eBay & YouTube, I get the message to install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player; I have gone through the download and installation procedure several times, but still get the same message - why can't I install the latest version on Firefox?

In eBay, I was trying to upload pictures when I got this message: "You need the latest version of Adobe Flash Player to use the standard picture uploader.
Download and install the latest version from Adobe before continuing."
In YouTube, when trying to watch a video, I got this message: "You need to upgrade your Adobe Flash Player to watch this video."
I have gone through the procedure for downloading and installing the latest version of Adobe Flash Player, but still get the same messages when I reopen Firefox and revisit these sites.
There does not seem to be the same problem with Safari, which runs the latest version of Adobe Flash Player with no trouble.
I am using an iMac running Mac OS X Version 10.6.7.

You can find the latest Flash player for Firefox on this page.
For Firefox on 64 bit Windows, you need the 32 bit Flash version version because Firefox is a 32 bit application.

You haven't actually asked a question, but as stated you should only download Flash Player directy from Adobe.
Nor have you said what version of OS X and Safari you are running.
You can check here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/  to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. Note that version 10,1,102,64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users*. The latest version,10.3 or later, is for Intel Macs only, as Adobe no longer support the PPC platform. Version 11.0.1.152 is for Lion.
    * Unhelpfully, if you want the last version for PPC Macs, you need to go here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html  and scroll down to 'Archived Versions/Older Archives'. Flash Player 10.1.102.64 is the one you download. More information here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/838/cpsid_83808.html
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.

    Hi..
Assuming you are using Safari ...
    Quit Safari.
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Storage tab. Click: Delete All
Now uninstall the Flash plugin then reinstall new >  Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
Make sure to uninstall the currently installed Flash plugin first.
Launch Safari From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache
    Now try a video.
BTW... if you have the ClickToFlash extension installed, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. It can also be installed as a plugin in /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.
And check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to:  Open in 32 bit mode  is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari.

If you are talking about Safari on the iPad, there is no version of Adobe Flash for iOS and there never has been. Clear Safari, close the app and reset the iPad.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History and Website Data
In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If you are talking about Safari on your Mac, you are in the wrong forum. But I would still clear the cache, quit Safari and restart the Mac.

  • After I downloaded the new version of Adobe Flash Player 11.3.300.262, I can't seem to play games with my friends on Yahoo Messenger.

It could be a coincidence but when I upgraded to the latest version of Adobe Flash Player 11.3.300.262 I can't seem to play any games on Yahoo Messenger with my friends. I know when I updated for some reason I had to try 3 times before it took it. It shows it's updated. I'm wondering if I have to un-install and re-install it. Also, I never use Internet Explorer 8 but when I went in there to check I found a plug in check link there and it showed over there that Adobe Flash Player needed updating but it was an older version and not the one Foxfire had me update too. Now I'm really confused if this is causing a problem. I have never had to check Internet Explorer for plug ins before. Have always just updated in Foxfire since that's what I use. The Adobe Flash Player seems to play videos okay so not really sure if that's the issue or not. My Java plug-ins have been fine and have been updated awhile ago, so I know it's not that. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Well, after hours of trying to figure it out I gave up and un-installed and re-installed that last verion of Adobe Flash Player and now it seems I can play games again in Messenger. Everything else had been fine just that. I can only figure it was because it was having a hard time updating the first time and took me 3 tries. So even though it said it was installed, apparently it wasn't done correctly.
Though when I couldn't figure out what was wrong at first I looked and checked to see all the things were enabled that were supposed to be and they were.
I even tried to go to the Adobe site and download the last version I had and couldn't find it. Kept coming up with the new version. Others said if you download a particular older version it may not have all the security features in it.
This really gets to be a bit much, especially when you're by yourself and have only a smattering of knowledge of technical things.
Thanks fore responding to my question.
