I have a BB Curve 4310 and use a MAC. I received the info to download the new 4.5 Device Software but could not find the way to download direct to phone and using safari did not get a download button when connected.
Help?

Hello Question95204 and welcome to the forums!
In order to load the 4.5 software on your device you will simply need to get to a PC running Windows XP or Vista and go to the web-based software loader page at the following link:
http://na.blackberry.com/eng/update/
There is currently no way to complete this task using PocketMac on the Mac. The software loader will back up your device by default but I would certainly make sure that you have everything you need in another place before proceeding.

My guess would be it has created an entirely new backup of your drive when you upgraded to Mavericks.

You need to power off the modem for 15-30 seconds, then power back up and then connect. The modem is remembering the last connection (your friend).

Looking at the same photo before flattening, what is being shown is only the top layer.
How do I correct this?

The top layer is indeed the one that is visible, unless there is/are area(s) of translucency on that layer, so that you can visualize a portion of the subjacent layer.
