I have a iPhone 5 on orange and my iPhone keeps getting no service when it seems to get hot. How do I get my service back as I need to check my text messages and also people I know are trying to reach me

Every time it gets hot it seems my service goes and I really want to know why?

Your phone should not get hot.  Bring it in to Apple for evaluation.  You may have a defective battery.

  • My iPhone 4S won't turn on.  It was fully charged so I unplugged it, and five minutes later I went to check my text messages and it would not turn on.  I tried to hard reset, nothing happened.

I plugged it into my computer, and it said the  USB device was not recognized.  I tried a hard reset and nothing happened.  It did not come in contact with any water.  I can't figure this out?

    Hello ameownda,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3281
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on), reset your device.
If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
Let charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.
If the screen displays a red battery icon, continue charging the device until the battery is fully charged.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:
Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more aboutrestoring iOS software.
If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode, and then restore it.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.
    Best of luck,
    Mario

I have an iMac desk top, iPad, and two iPhones. Someone (a family relative) has somehow copied text messages, and possibly emails from our iPhones, and sent them to other people. He has had access to my wife's iPhone numerous times. Can I check our iPhones to detect any surveillance apps(bugs) on them?

Whose Apple ID are you using? It sounds like whoever co-opted the account may have changed the security questions as well.
    Follow the instructions here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5665
What should I do if I don't remember the answers to my Apple ID security questions?
Try answering them at least once to see if you can get them right, even if you are not sure you remember the answers to your security questions.
If you are confident you can't remember them, try one of the following:
If you have three security questions and a rescue email address
sign in to My Apple ID and select the Password and Security tab to send an email to your rescue email address to reset your security questions and answers.
If you have one security question and you know your Apple ID passwordsign in to My Apple ID and select the Password and Security tab to reset your security question.
If you have one security question, but don't remember your Apple ID password
contact Apple Support for assistance. Learn more about creating a temporary support PIN to help Apple confirm your identity when you contact Apple Support.
Note: If you have forgotten your password and answer your security questions incorrectly too many times in a row, you will be unable to try to answer your security questions for a period of time. During that time you will not be able to reset your password and will not have access to your account.

My iPhone 4S has replaced the names of my contacts in text messages and under my favorites- only their phone number shows. I updated today but this actually happened beforehand. I have tried restating the phone, and also *228. Neither have worked. Can someone help me??

My wife is having the same problems as a reciever. She works in a school as a teaching assistant and her teacher sends messages that are mixed with previous texts from ages ago.

  • IPhone 5 Glitch - Text Messages and E-mails

So basically when I have any application open that uses sound, such as a game for example, if I turn down the volume within the application, when I exit the application the volume of my text messages and e-mails are set to the same level as whatever I set the volume to in the application that I was just using previously.
For example, if I go into Temple Run and turn the volume almost all the way down to the lowest setting, when I am done playing the game if I receive a text message or e-mail I can barely hear the alert because the volume of those alerts will be set to the low volume from when I was playing Temple Run. I have to go back into Temple Run and turn the game volume all the way back up again to get text message an e-mail alert volumes back to normal.
I thought maybe this was an issue with the new iOS 6, but I had a few friends test it on their 4 and 4s iPhones and they did not experience this glitch. So I think maybe it's only a glitch on the iPhone 5. Can someone with an iPhone 5 check to see if it happens to you too? If not, maybe I just got a defective phone.
    Thanks,
    Jesse

I just updated my iPhone 4S to IOS 6 and I am now having the same problem. I play The Sims Freeplay, but keep that volume set at 2 or 3 bars, sometimes even on mute. When I left the game, my text tone was barely audible. I messed around with the volume settings for a while, but I couldn't get it louder. Then I finally went back into The Sims Freeplay, turned the volume up to about halfway, and then exited. What do you know? My text tone is now about as loud as it used to be. I went back and turned the game volume back down again to check, and that seems to be what it is basing the text tone volume off of. It is a bit ridiculous. I am really hoping that Apple fixes that bug very quickly, because I should not have to leave my games on blasting loud in order to hear my text messages or emails. Other people have been complaining about the low text tone (or none at all) on other forums, but yours is the only place I'd seen someone else discover the game volume as the way to fix it.

  • My iPad 2 won't receive text messages and is not sharing any data with my iPhone 4. Please help!

My iPad 2 won't receive text messages and is not sharing any data with my iPhone 4. Please help!

The iPad receives Text Messages through Apple's iMessage feature. Make sure this is turned on on your phone. Also, text messages received at your phone number are not shared with the iPad. Make sure that iMessage texts are being sent to your EMAIL ADDRESS

  • IPhone text messages and apps

When I check the text messages on my teens phone there is an app that is updating constantly and overrides me being able to see her text messages. Can anyone tell me what that is?and this is when I log onto AT&T to check our bill. It is using up data by updating and sending updates all night long.

If text messages are sent via iMessage, a free texting service that apple created in iOS 5, they will not show up on an AT&T bill.  As for the excessive data usage, it would make since that social networking would be responsible.  In terms of overriding the texting list, this would most likely be an error within AT&T's network.  I have an iPhone 5 using AT&T and do not have this problem with the detailed billing plan.  You should contact AT&T to cancel your detailed billing plan to save you $10 a month.  If you want to view your teen's text messages, you can link your two apple id's together so you can view any text between your teen's phone and another via your phone.  For more help on this matter, you can contact Apple or reserve a Genius Bar Appointment by using the Apple Store app or www.apple.com.
If you have any more details that you would like to share, I can for sure try and find a different solution.  If there is anything else you would like my help on, let me know.
    Cheers,
    Allen

  • Where do I find the code on my Mac to allow iPhone text messages to also be sent and received on iMac?

where I can find the code that is supposed to be shown on my Mac to allow iphone text messages to also be sent and received on iMac?

    Hi,
    Long Answer.
Enable the iPhone for Messages.  Make sure it Verifies and that your can Send from the iPhone Number.
To do that you can Enable the iMessages account in Messages on the Mac using and Apple ID.
The iPhone can then send from the iPhone Number to the Apple ID (Mac).
Then add the Apple ID to the iPhone.
The Mac will then get a pop up saying that the iPhone is using the Apple ID and the iPhone number.
Accept this Pop up to enable the Mac to "sync" the iPhone Number iMessages.
(Sync in this case is only "Display on All Devices").
Now you can enable Text Forwarding on the iPhone.
IF the Apple ID and iPhone Number are already linked this will launch the app if it is Quit and display the Code number you need.
The number then need to be entered back on the iPhone to complete the process.
The Text Forwarding option on the iPhone should then show the device(s)  that are linked this way.

Help! I have an iPhone 4s, I accidentally deleted a text message and my phone is not synced. How do I retrieve it?

You can not retrieve a deleted message that was not synced.
There are data recovery services that "may" be able to retrieve the message.
These recovery services can cost $1000 or more though.

  • Hi, I have a contract with Orange on my iPhone 4s and I have bought a sim free iPhone 5, how do I transfer the sim accross?

Hi, I have a contract with Orange on my iPhone 4s and I have bought a sim free iPhone 5, how do I transfer the sim accross?
Will I need to ask Orange to provide me with a free nano sim and then ask them to transfer the number to that new sim?
    Thanks!

If you buy the phone unlocked / SIM free from Apple it will not come with a SIM.
You will need to contact Orange (how is up to you), to get a nano-SIM and then get them to transfer your phone account and number from the old SIM to the new.
With O2, you can do this in an O2 Store, over the telephone, over the internet or via text message. Perhaps it is the same with Orange. No matter what though, you'll have to contact Orange to get a nano SIM so ask them the process at the same time.

    No.

  • Text messages and phone calls from March 2012 to date are missing after activating iphone5

text messages and phone calls from March 2012 to date are missing after activating iphone5. I backed up my 4 before activating my 5. Can i retrieve them somehow?

i would not want to bet on nokia ever releasing a patch or update in the software to allow this function on this particular phone.
if you look at nokia phones over the years, they have added functionality like this across a wide range all at once, take for example timed profiles on symbian phones. these have only just been phased in.
i do not think it is a development cop out, more along the lines that nokia is a huge company and as such would have a huge effor in market research. if they didnt pick this out through their market researc, why spend the money adding it?
the comment on annoyance is entirely personal to me, as it is important to you - you may want to consider moving to a symbian (series 60) based handset as these give you a lot of expansion for this sort of need.
