I have a MacPro with 10.7.2 installed. I want to create a new partition and install 10.5. When I put in the install DVD and restart the computer, it does not restart. What can I do?
I just purchased a MacPro with 10.7.2 installed. I want to install 10.5 on a separate partition.
I created the partition with no issues, now when I put in the 10.5 install DVD and restart the computer, it does not restart.
All I get is a grey screen. no icons, no nothing. I have to shut the computer down.
I really need to do this. I plan on upgrading to FCP X, but I still need to finish some old projects that were done with FCP 7. I need the different boot drives

This is a brand new machine that I just purchased from Apple. It was delivered yesterday
The old computer is an old PowerMac G5, but my OS X install disc is a retail version of 10.5.
I also tried the OS X 10.5 install disc that came with my MacBook Pro (2.6 Ghz Intel Core 2 Dual).
Same issue - nothing but a grey screen when the system tries to boot from the DVD

Command + R keys are for Macbooks running Lion and Mountian Lion only. ( i could be wrong on this)
you have a couple of options:
Do a clean install of Snow Leopard via Install DVD.
Clone your old hard drive to your new hard drive via Carbon Copy Cloner

hi my bluetooth cannot see the other bluetooth devices. When it is picked up by a different device tries to pair with it but the pairing does not occur. what can I do apart from throwing this **** thing in the bin?
It isn't supposed to pair with the MacBook. You can use WiFi to connect but not Bluetooth. You can setup a personal HotSpot on the iPhone and connect the MacBook, or setup the MacBook AirPort to create a network and attach the iPhone, and use the USB cable to connect the iPhone to the MacBook for syncing and backup purposes.
The communications are rather limited. -

Try a reset:
Hold the home and power buttons at the same time until the Apple boot logo appears. No data will be lost.
If the reset doesn't work, you probably have a hardware issue. If you have warranty on the iPod, the replacement will be free. If no warranty, you'll have to pay.

I thank you for your help, it can help to humanizeYou are right, but how could i send it to Apple? when the phone company first replaced my iphone they had in stock alots of iphones and they just sent mine back to Apple and gave me a new one, so all i did is to give them my phone, but now how could i sent it to Apple? and i cant send it by myself, and the store wont do that, its a lost for them.. so sending it to Apple wasnt an option from the begining.
and for the record, i dont think the store where i bought it is an authorized shop.. its just a store who boughts phone's from Apple in a low price and sells it in much more money.. -
I have a windows 8 computer and I installed the newest version of itunes because I used to have an ipod and I have a few purchases that I wanted to listen to. When I try to play them it says it's playing but I can't hear anything. It does not even says it's played the whole way. It just stays at the beginning. It won't let me pause. I checked my computer sound and there is nothing wrong with it. So there must be some software problem but idk what it is. If anyone can help I would appreciated. Thank-you

It sounds like there is an issue burning CD's in iTunes. Is the playback issue only occurring on a specific device and does the disc show up correctly in iTunes? Rso2 replication does not work, what can one check

created a data source in rso2. tried to replicate it to the bi system - but - when going to the bi system and looking under "datasources", there is nothing there. the datasource does not replicate.

First activate the datasource through RSA5 in R/3 system.Then check in RSA6 it should present there then run RSA3 weather its extracting any data or not.These steps you have to follow in ECC side.
Now go to BI system side:
Go to source system ,right click and press replicate the datasources...sometimes you have to replicate the whole datasources then try and check your datasource weather it comes or not.
Try to do these steps and let me know if it solves your problem or not.

I inherited an Ipad 2 from a company that I had worked for in the UK but had closed down.
It was an IPAD2 locked to the Vodafone UK network by a Vodafone SIM Card.
No account details were or are available for the original account.
So I removed the Vodafone SIM Card and then factory reset wirelessly using my wireless at home.
I updated the system to IOS 7.0.2.
I was then sold under a contract from EE another UK carrier a SIM card for the Ipad and when inserted the Ipad says Sim not applicable.
I checked with Vodafone and EE shop and they said they cant unlock it, I checked with Apple who said the same!
So I have an IPad I can use wirelessly at home, a sim card from EE which is an u
locked Vodafone carrier mode and all 3 multinational companies say they cannot unlock it from Vodafone to enable me to use the EE sim.
What can I do to sort this mess out? Please help!

That's what the moderator in several older threads in Vodaphone's forum said was all that is necessary. Carriers often won't unlock for anyone but the original account holder, so if you don't have the details of the company's account, that might be the barrier in which case there will not be any way to get the iPad officially unlocked.

IPod is stuck in recovery mode and retoring does not fix - What can?
I've installed a new computer and transfered itunes just fine but when I connected my sons iPod it stated "itunes has detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore this iPod before it can be used with iTunes." I've now restored it more times than I care to remember (it appears restored back to factory settings) but the same message ".... detected an iPod in recovery mode. You must restore..." persists and thus will not download music library. What else can be done?
Dell precision 390 Windows XPThis repetitive "ipod found in recovery mode" message is most likely caused by drive letter confusion on your computer.
In that case, you'll need to try assigning your iPod a different drive letter.
Log off of any other users on your computer.
Then, put your iPod into Disk Mode and see these steps:
1 - Don't plug in your iPod yet.
2 - Go to "START -> Control Panel -> Admin Tools (if you don't see this, click on "classic view" button on the left panel) -> Computer Management."
3 - Click on the "Disk Management" button in the left panel area.
4 - Now, with "Computer Management" and Control Panel windows opened, connect your iPod to the computer.
5 - Right-click on your iPod's listing there (after a few moments when it gets recognized in this drive window), and click on "Change Drive letter and Paths". Then the "Change..." button.
Here's what it should look like:
Assign your iPod the letter "M" "N", "O" or the like (further along in the alphabet).

what can i do?1- Do you have it set as "Manually manage music and video"? If so, it will not sync to iTunes in manual mode.
2- If you have it set to auto-sync (opposite of #1), do you have it set to automatically launch iTunes when you connect it? If not, the auto-sync will not automatically start if iTunes is already running, you'd have to click the Sync button to get the auto-sync to commence.
3- Do you have iTunes set to not auto-sync devices? Go to Edit/ Preferences and click on the Devices tab to see if this option has been set. If so, then you must manually initiate the auto-sync (which is not the same as manually managing the device). Or, simply de-select this iTunes option.
