Hi,
I have a problem in creating a webservice usind NWDS.i have done a right click on session bean and selected webservice but no wizard is coming.But it is working fine for other session beans in other projects.will u pls help me out.

Hi
please try recreating the EJB , just check whether the home and remote interfaces and the business methods in the home and bean classes are defined properly .Also check whether the ejb editor is showing all the business methods

• Creating a Web service

Hi,
I have a web dynpro application that can access an external database via EJB. I also have a web module (JSP). In the web dynpro application there is a button that calls a webpage from my web module.
Supposedly, when I click the button, the values in webpage will be taken from my external database (e.g. the text values of my webpage will come from my database).
I have been told to create a web service using my EJB and have to import that web service to my web module using a java class. Can someone point me to a tutorial on how to do this?

• First time creating a web service ... help!

I work for a logistics company and I have been tasked with
creating a web service that will allow clients to feed in XML
packets and our server would then take the XML, confirm it's valid
and then process a quote and then return this quote back to the
client as an XML packet. Here is where my confusion arrises ...
what type of returntype is an XML packet? a "string"?

Basically yes, A long structured string. The cffunction tag
also
accepts a returnType of XML, I'm not sure which is best.

• Problem creating J2ME web service client

Hi,
I am using netbeans (5 and 5.5 beta 2). I have created a web service which works fine. I also created a regular web service client as a standalone application which also works fine and connects to my web service with no problem.
BUT, when I want to create a J2ME web service client (under a J2ME application) I have to locate my WSDL file. but the wizard shows me the error "WSDL file does not contain port information".
By looking at the WSDL file I can see that port is created - or maybe I'm wrong.
piece from WSDL file:
<service name="myServiceName">
<port name="myServiceSPort" binding="tns:TranslatorWSPortBinding">
<soap:address location="myURLLocation"/>
</port>
</service>
Please note that I have replaced the actual values in above piece
I tried to use wsgen manually but it didn't help.
Can anyone help me in generating the correct WSDL format as J2ME web service client expects?
Thanks a lot,
S.

well stubs are generated separately using WTK 2.5 stub generator but the problem is with the WSDL at this point.

• Creating a Web Service from EJB 3.0 - J2SE 5.0 Collection mapping problem

Hi,
Apologies if this is the wrong forum, I'm not quite sure where it fits in.
I have some Toplink JPA entity beans that I access through a session bean. I am then trying to create a web service based on the session bean by deploying it to a 10.1.3 application server. This is based on the documentation at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/core.1013/b28764/web_services002.htm#CHDJEDDH
The two entity beans are like:
public class Event {
private java.util.List<EventDetail> eventDetailList;
public Event() {
public void setEventDetails(java.util.List<EventDetail> eventDetailList) {
this.eventDetailList = eventDetailList;
public java.util.List<EventDetail> getEventDetails() {
return eventDetailList;
public void addEventDetail(EventDetail eventDetail) {
this.eventDetailList.add(eventDetail);
public class EventDetail {
public EventDetail() {
The session bean has a method like:
List<Event> listParents();
When this is deployed to the application server I expected a complex type like ListOfEventDetail to be generated in the WSDL, as shown in http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B32110_01/web.1013/b28975/apptypemapping.htm#sthref966, and the Event complex type would have an element of ListOfEventDetail. Instead the Event complex type looks like this:
<complexType name="Event">
<sequence>
<element name="eventDetails" type="ns1:list" nillable="true"/>
</sequence>
</complexType>
<complexType name="EventDetail">
<sequence/>
</complexType>
and ns1:list appears in a different schema:
<schema xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:wsdl="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:soap11-enc="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" xmlns:tns="http://www.oracle.com/webservices/internal/literal" targetNamespace="http://www.oracle.com/webservices/internal/literal" elementFormDefault="qualified">
<import namespace="http://wsdl/"/>
<complexType name="list">
<complexContent>
<extension base="tns:collection">
<sequence/>
</extension>
</complexContent>
</complexType>
<complexType name="collection">
<sequence>
<element name="item" type="anyType" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded"/>
</sequence>
</complexType>
</schema>
However, if I change the getters and setters for eventDetailList in Event to setDetails and getDetails like this:
public void setDetails(java.util.List<EventDetail> eventDetailList) {
this.eventDetailList = eventDetailList;
public java.util.List<EventDetail> getDetails() {
return eventDetailList;
the WSDL is generated as I expected:
<complexType name="EventDetail">
<sequence/>
</complexType>
<complexType name="Event">
<sequence>
<element name="details" type="tns:ListOfEventDetail" nillable="true"/>
</sequence>
</complexType>
<complexType name="ListOfEventDetail">
<sequence>
<element name="item" type="tns:EventDetail" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded"/>
</sequence>
</complexType>
After messing around with various combinations of things, it seems that if the getters and setters have more than just the initial capital letter the (eg getTheThings instead of getThings) the WSDL gets messed up. Does anyone have any ideas what is going on here?

Using <autotype> and <source2wsdd> to generate what I need. Now WL seems happy.

• I have a problem in creating a Process Chain(PC).

Hi GURU's
I have a problem in creating a Process Chain(PC). The PC should run on first 3 business days of the month for six times i,e 6am, 7am,8am, 9am,10am,11am.
For this i have created 3 PC like BD1, BD2, BD3, and i selected the Factory calender provided workday 1, 2 , 3 and time for three chains.
Now should i schedule it for 6times in a day.
I tried creating a new job for one of PC's but i have to change the timings for every month (this is not the proper solution).
Please help me.
Regds
Lajwanth

Hi Friend,
For the days part, you can create a new factory calendar with first 3 business days of each month only as working days.
Then in the scheduling -> Restrictions; you can mention that Factory Calendar id and select radio button for "Move job to next working day". Schedule the chain as Periodic "Hourly".
Then for the Time part -> You can insert process type "Decision between multiple alternatives" after the start variant.
After you insert this process type you can create a formula in it to check for system time. In the if condition check for system time i.e., whether it is between 6 - 11. If only the system time is between 6 AM to 11 AM only then the decision step would turn to green and go to the successor step in the process chain.
Process chain would be like:
Start variant -> Decision Step -> Rest of the chain.
So in short the factory calendar will take care of which days the chain will run and decision step will take care of the timings.

• 2004S MiniSAP ABAP: SAPGUI crashes when creating a Web Service

I have installed the NW2004S ABAP Preview System from SDN on a VMWare Image (Windows XP, 1.7 GB Mem).
No problems during the install. Also I was able to run the sample Web Dynpro Quiz Application.
However when try to create a Web Service the SAP GUi crashes with the Windows Error Message "dispwork.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close." Interestingly enough the "dispwork.exe" process in the MMC continues to be green and I can reconnect.
Here are the detailed steps if you want to try to re-produce:
1) Select Package SAPBC_IBF_SCUSTOMER
2) Select Function Module "BAPI_FLCUST_GetList"
3) Right mouse click and Create -> Web Service
4) Web Service Wizard opens, type in name for Web Service (Z_...) and continue with the default settings
5) Creat as Local Object
Result: After about 5 minutes of compiling the SAP GUI crashes. The Web Service is not created (checked in WSADMIN)
Any help is greatly appreciated. Will reward points for hints which lead to a resolution.

I'm glad to see it wasn't just me having this problem. I installed the SPS8 version of the 2004s ABAP trial a couple weeks ago and immediately tried to apply SPS9 and kernel patches, etc. (with a lot of help from your blog 3930, even though some things have changed since then).
I ran into this same problem you describe but since there had been some other problems along the way too, I decided to uninstall the whole server and start over. Uninstallation and getting a clean installation again was a mess (maybe the new cleanup utility would have helped some) but I got past that.
The second time through, I made a lot of improvements, which I'll list here since they may help others, but still ran into this problem in the XPRA_EXECUTION phase.
Improvements to process:
1) Backup database first, just in case
2) Share the c:\SAP directory as Sapmnt so that SPAM can find the packages
3) Add at least one extra batch process, since the default installation only gives one and more are needed for the support package installation (the easy way is to increase rdisp/wp_no_btc in the NSP* profile in C:\SAP\NSP\SYS\profile)
4) While in the profile, change ztta/cua_area = 250000 to avoid some errors logged in trace files for having that too low
5) Also in the profile, put the slash between the directory and file name in ssf/ssfapi_lib and sec/libsapsecu
6) Also in the profile, add "dynpro/generate_in_separate_luw = N", as per note 949737
7) Request and install a new license key before applying the support packages.
All of the above were changes I made after finding errors or problems and these solve the problems. Some errors also led me to upgrade MAXDB from 7.60 build 32 to 33 (pretty painless if note 735598 is followed carefully) but I'm not sure that really solved anything.
I tried hard to debug the WEBI_AFTER_IMPORT problem and narrowed it down to when it's trying to create a transformation for a function and XSLT_MAINTENANCE is called and then inside the Activate method and the Check method it calls. I ended up not able to solve this problem but also hoping that SPS10 would do so, as per note 973675. I just removed the AFTER_IMP method for WEBI from table OBJM temporarily while letting SPAM continue.
I too will be waiting to see if SPS10 helps or if someone comes up with a solution. Ideally, a new version of the trial could be posted which incorporates the above improvements and includes SPS9 or SPS10 so that those installing it fresh don't have to go through so many issues...

• Errors creating a Web Service Proxy using Microsoft WSDL.exe tool

I have deployed a BPEL process using JDeveloper. This process can be invoked from the BPEL console and completes as expected. I am trying to create a Web Service Proxy using the Microsoft WSDL.exe tool so that the process can be invoked from a Microsoft Word document. This process is based on the AutoLoan example in the Developer's Guide for Microsoft Office Interoperability B25781-01.
WSDL.exe returns the following error message
Error: There was an error processing 'http://erp.template.co.uk:8889/orabpel/default/HonorariumSmartDoc/1.0/HonorariumSmartDoc?wsdl'.

Thanks,
Roy.

Guys,
You are asking about an issue that was a pain in the nick for me few months ago. The problem is that you won't find mych help here as I figured out that Apex geeks here either did not do much webservices or ended up hating it as i do :) . This is an error that can be due many different reason, let me ask you this:
1- Does your the other system you are trying to call through webservices using HTTPS ?
2- If yes, did you create a valid oracle wallet for that https connection ?
3- Make sure you are using the correct URL ( am sure you do, just double check )
4- If using a proxy, then you have to define that in the web service reference creation page
provide more info and I hope I can help you with this,
Sam
Please reward good answers by marking them correct or helpful!

• Problem while Introspecting a Web-Service in OBPM 10GR3 studio

I get the following problem while Introspecting a Web-Service in OBPM 10GR3 studio:-
Introspecting...
downloading /test-ws/testc?wsdl [Error] Instrospection exception: Web Service WSDL parse exception: HTTPS hostname wrong: should be <test-01.test.net>...
Any idea why?
It runs well in a browser, eclipse and SOAP UI?

have you create the destination?
do you use the wizard to generate code?
usually there is catch clause for this line of code
wdContext.currentRequest_SERVICE_MDM_LOOKUPElement().modelObject().execute();

• Please Help! Unable to create a web service.

Hi all,
I have created a deployable proxy, a EJB with a stateless session bean, and a enterprise application project with the above ejb added. I add the deployable proxy into ejb, so that i can utilize the interface(web service) provided by the external party. After i implement the code to call the web service from external party in stateless session bean, i should create a web service by right click on session bean>New>Web Service. However, nothing was happened while a pop up window of web service creation wizard should appear. NWDS showed "End Point Doesn't Exist" when i tried to create the web service by File>New>Others>Web Service>Web Service (New VI and WSD).
Anybody have any idea of it? Your help will be apperciated.
Warmest Regards,
Jane

Gerhard,
Then, I can think of only one possibility. Your WSDL is a RPC/Encoded one.
Try using a WSDL of type Doc/Literal. This should help in identifying the easter egg. I believe that there might be some unsupported tags in your current WSDL.

• Creating a web service for F4 help

Hi All,
I want to create a web service that I can consume using JavaScript and thus can integrate with normal HTML web site. I want to achieve this by two ways
Pass table name and field name to the service and it will return the default search help
In some cases search helps are collective search helps and they have search criteria to filter data
How can I tackle with the 2nd point. First one looks straight. Pass table-field and the system will pick default DDIC search help and return values in table. However in case of collective help, I need to cater for the search parameters and I am not aware of any FM that will allow me to do it.
Any help appreciated .
Regards
Abhi

Hi Marcin and everyone,
Thanks for the precious explanations.
I created a client and I have an exception.
1) I made a portal service from wsdl - client side.
2) I created a DynPage.
3) Here is the code :
IMyBAPI4Service client = (IMyBAPI4Service) PortalRuntime.getRuntimeResources().getService(
IMyBAPI4Service.KEY);
IMyBAPI4Service securedClient = (IMyBAPI4Service) client.getSecurisedServiceConnection(                 request.getUser());
//this is null.
if (securedClient.getURLEndPoint().getURL() == null) {
securedClient.setURLEndPoint(new URLEndpoint("http://<server>:<port>/irj/servlet/prt/soap/com.sap.portal.prt.soap.MyBAPI4Service?style=doc_lit"));
Bapi_Companycode_Getdetail_Input importParams =     new Bapi_Companycode_Getdetail_Input();
importParams.setCompanycodeid("0500");
Bapi_Companycode_Getdetail_Output exportParams = null;
securedClient.execute_BAPI_COMPANYCODE_GETDETAIL(importParams);
Do I have to use a secured client ? What is it ?
The exception is :
Problem at execution: SOAP Fault Error (java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError) : java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
Thanks Marcin....

• Frustating errors while creating java web-service

Hey All
Me getting a frustating problem while making the webservice using Eclipse, jdk1.6.0_03,and Tomcat-5.0.
The overall scenario is like this.There is a class “WsEpp” of which I have to make webservice.”WsEpp” class is using the object of another class “EppService”, and if certain conditions will be fullfill then “EppService” class will use the object of another class “PrintClass”,which is allready using the object of class “PrintLib”.
“PrintLib” class is a long file and its using many classes which are in supported jar files.
Here is the some part of “PrintLib” where I am facing the problem,
Scenario-1
public epp_Command command_data = new epp_Command();
public PrintLib()
System.out.println("CONSTRUCTOR 1");
this.command_data = new epp_Command();
System.out.println("CONSTRUCTOR 2");
Here I am using the constructor of the “PrintLib” and “epp_Command” is included into jar files.When “WsEpp” is running as web service then
<faultcode>soapenv:Server.userException</faultcode>
<faultstring>java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException</faultstring>
occurs as the response of webservice.
Scenario-2
//public epp_Command command_data = new epp_Command();
public PrintLib()
System.out.println("CONSTRUCTOR 1");
// this.command_data = new epp_Command();
System.out.println("CONSTRUCTOR 2");
When I am commenting the lines as shown in scenarion-2,then the service is running well and printing CONSTRUCTOR 1 and CONSTRUCTOR 2 as given in println command.
And response of webservice gives the desired result.
Scenario-3
public epp_Command command_data = null;
public PrintLib()
System.out.println("CONSTRUCTOR 1");
this.command_data = new epp_Command();
System.out.println("CONSTRUCTOR 2");
By using scenarion-3 the service is running and printing only CONSTRUCTOR 1 as given in println command.And also
<faultcode>soapenv:Server.userException</faultcode>
<faultstring>java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException</faultstring>
occurs as the response of webservice.
I am suffering with this problem from last 2 weeks.Kindally help me and provide me the some suggestions and tips.In case of any more requirement I can provid ethe whole codes.

Hi,
Can anybody tell me please, is it possible to create
a Web Service from java class where the input from
user is required ?Yes, the parameters of your method will be mapped in WSDL.
But i've some considerations about your code.
I suggest you change the name of isPrime do Prime, its a good code convention to put the name of class starting with Upper case. and isn't good the name of class equals to name of method.
I suggest you to change the "static boolean isPrime (int n)" to "public boolean isPrime(int n)" to publish a method as a WebService method it's must be public and not static. After this change try to generate your Web Service.
Regards.
