It was about 300 dollars to get it serviced last week. if it adds up to much past 600 dollars I will just get a new one. THANKS FOR ANY HELP!
P.S During classes today it began beeping in my bag. Like three kind of long steady beeps then a short pause, and when I opened it I couldn't see anything but it was on so I turned it off and back on.
Depends on what options your Apple store offers - if they can do a depot repair (where they send it out), that's around $300 for all parts & labor.
If the store doesn't have that option, a logicboard is around $600, battery $80-$100, from what I've seen.
If they JUST replaced the logicboard, you absolutely should NOT have to pay for another replacement - the replacement is covered by a warranty. If they want you to pay for it, make sure you have a copy of the receipt for the work that was recently completed so you can show it to them. They have no reason to charge you for another logicboard.

Try, in preferences, resetting 64 bit to 32 bits. Should work fine. the older vidoes, etc will not work with 64 bit. Had the same problem/scare. Let us know if this helps and works!

I got my Macbook Pro 17inch (early 2011) back from Apple (they had to replace the logic board) 3 days ago, I had a terrible experience as the genious who gave me my solid state disk for safekeeping lost my disk's brackets thus I had to wait 2 more hours until they find one after 10 days of waiting for the repair. I noticed some weird sounds, like somehting is moving with the mac 1-2 times, even if I have no mechanical parts other than the fans, but my real issue at the moment is that my microphone is not working. I can see the mic in the System Info however and in Audio Midi Setup. In the Audio Midi Setup I see that the master chanel is turned off and I can't turn in on. Ch 1 and 2 are on full. I also noticed the first seconds after the comp. boots the blue bar goes to the middle in the System Preferences -> Sound -> Input. Any ideas what to do or try? I do not want to go back to the apple store as it is 50 minutes away from here and I need my laptop as a computer science student. Everything else is working perfectly.
You need to call both the store that did the repair and Apple directly, warranty service or Apple care, and report this problem with both of them and get a ticket number of some kind (some kind of verification number) that the unit just came back from major service with this problem and that you want it fixed when you can lose the use of it, which is not right now.
Without doing something like that they could easily say it is damage not covered under the normal warranty.
God knows what the repair center did and did not do to it while it was there.
And depending on when you actually bought it the warranty could run out in the mean time. -

Ever since I upgraded to Mountain Lion my Mid 2010 Macbook Pro has been randomly restarting itself and showing a grey sceen with the text "Your computer was restarted because of a problem."

1. I ran software update and am up to date. Does this mean that my yet to be activated Boot Camp ap is also up to date?
There are 4 confusing pages of updates listed at Apples website for Boot Camp. I am having a hard time understanding what I need and don't need. For example, what version of Boot Camp do I have? I have Boot Camp Assistant version 3.0.4. Does this mean I have Boot Camp ver 3?
2. The printed Boot Camp instructions do not explain the process of using downloaded Windows drivers; the instuctions only refer to drivers on the original disks. I have the original install disks from around mid 2010 but I am sure many things have been updated by now. Wouldn't the best idea be to download and install? You have Mac OS X Snow Leopard, so you are going to use Boot Camp 3 on Windows. After installing Windows 7 on your MacBook, insert the Snow Leopard DVD and install the Boot Camp drivers from here. Then, as the Boot Camp drivers that your Snow Leopard disc contain are outdated, open Apple Software Update on Windows to install the most recent Boot Camp drivers.

On Snow Leopard, you can only download the Boot Camp drivers for the Late 2010 MacBook Air. On Lion and Mountain Lion, you have to download the Boot Camp drivers for all the computers. If you try to download the Boot Camp drivers on Snow Leopard with your computer, you will get a message telling that there aren't any drivers to download for your MacBook Pro -

Color changes when switching to discrete video card and back to integrated ML 2010 macbook pro
Anyone experiencing this? It's driving me crazy! When ever the gt330 is activted the color becomes cool. When the intergrated graphics go then its back to a warm tint.
Still getting this issue. Happens with Photoshop and chrome.

No. Go to an Apple store, and it will have a schedule of training seminars. If you have a quick question, you can make an appointment with a Genius. Finally, actually the first thing you should have done, you should familiarize yourself with the online documentation and videos.

How did you create the account ? Unless you followed, exactly, the instructions on the HT2534 page that you posted from when creating an account then credit card details will need to be entered before the account can be used to download any item from the store.

No, you should not. There are problems trying to go the other way, but updating a newer iOS release from a backup of an older iOS release has always been supported and is the basic means of setting up a new device from a previous one.
