I have a question on paths and templates

I have a question on how I should structure my site
At my root directory on my server I have this set up.
index.html
/pages
     page1.html (all of these were created from my own template)
     page2.html
     page3.html
     and so on....
/webReadyGraphics
/css
/library
/templates
     genericTemplate.dwt
Each folder has their own respective files in it.
The problem I'm bumping into is relative and absolute paths in my DW templates/assest. I will do my best to explain.
I've create a menu with text that links to various pages. An example would be a home button which always returns you to the index.html. I turned that home button into an asset. I've placed that asset into my genericTemplate.dwt. The link attached to the home button is a relative path and looks something like ../index.html.
I have used my genericTemplate to create all my pages, even index.html. So on my index page is my home button which tries to link to a parent directory ../index.html. I decided to use absolute paths instead which is great on my local machine but when I go to upload to my server won't this be a problem? As browsers will be looking for a local absolute path?
How should I structure my website? I've been thinking about putting all my pages at the root directory but that just gets mess looking.
I hope I explained that well. My understanding of web theory is a bit novice.

How do I do that? The pages which have the asset (button) have different paths to get to the index.html... some paths would be ../index others would be ../../index.html
I don't know how to explain this. I have 1 button. that button is on 15 webpages. Those pages are located at various directories from within my website. So all their paths would be different but I only have 1 button. So how do I put a relative path in there?
I can put all the pages in 1 location so the button path would be the same. That's not a problem BUT! I also have that button on my index.html page which is at the root of my site.
All of my pages would be located at root/pages/______.html. The button would have a relative path of ../index.html
The index is located at root/index.html and that SAME button would have an incorrect path of ../index.html and return an error saying page not found.
I want to keep the button an asset since I will likely be changing it's destination in the future or may want it to link a different page. So I made the button an asset so that I when I do want to change it I only have to do it once and it updates across all my pages.
Does that make sense? Should I just put all my pages at the root? Is that normal to do? My root would start to look pretty mess with 15-20+ html pages.

Hi All, I have a question re Registration Quote templates. I am doing a site that is using the eCommerce module. The products are mainly for mining companies so will never be sold online as they are huge. We would like to use the eCommerce module for quoting though. We would like the initial quote submission from the user to have the price fields empty, at present they are filled with $0.00 but the quotes sent from the CMS to be filled with the price. I can do this with some JS but was wondering is it possible to have two quote templates. The first one filled in by the customer with the order and a message like "Thanks we’ll be in touch" and the actual quote sent from the CMS to be the items listed and quoted price.

To Simplify, all I need to be able to do is:
Check from Shopping Cart via "Get Quote" button.
Fill in Quote Registration form.
On Submit send user the autoresponder email (currently it seems to send a copy of the cart with $0 written everywhere) Not the autoresponder I have set up
Send cart details to CRM.
If I could get the System to send the autoresponder in the first instance instead of the cart results I would be happy.
Anyone have any idea on how this might be achieved.

Best Practice Question - Data Def and Template setup

EBS provides reports and templates. As expected the template did not fit our needs and the data objects did not include all the elements required. I've built custom objects for both (thanks to help from the forum).
Should the templates and data definitions be setup under their corresponding application or under the custom application (ie PO vs XX )?
In my case if I setup the data definition and template under the XX application then all the EBS OAF web pages dont show my new reports. I'd have to also build OAF extensions to show custom reports (seems stupid).
Is there any negative impacts of registering custom data definition and templates under their corresponding applications (like Purchasing, Inventory)? Or is there a better way that I'm missing?

not really. I would make it work by anymeans neccessary. The problem you are experience I've had issues with too.
The concurrent program and has to be the same as template application, same for for the data definition.

I have a question about downloading and itunes on TWO computers.

Where I work I have really fast internet, perfect for downloading movies, etc. At home, in the sticks, I have slow internet. Is there any way to rent/buy media on my work computer itunes (Win) to take home (say on my iPhone) and sync with my Mac iTunes?

I have my library cloned to a small 1Tb USB drive which I can take between home & work. At either location I use SyncToy 2.1 to update the local copy with the external drive. Mac users should be able to find similar tools. I can open either of the local libraries or the one on the external drive and update the media content of my iPhone. The slight exception is Photos which normally connects to a specific folder on a specific machine, although that can easily be remapped to the current library if you create a "Photos" folder inside the iTunes Media folder so that syncing the iTunes folders keeps this up to date as well. I periodically sweep my library for new files & orphans with iTunes Folder Watch just in case I make changes at one location but then overwrite the library with a newer copy from the other. Again Mac users should be able to find similar tools.
As long as your media is organised within an iTunes Music or Tunes Media folder, in turn held inside the main iTunes folder that has your library files (whether or not you let iTunes keep the media folder organised) each library can access items at the same relative path from the library folder so the library can be at different drives/paths on different machines. This solution ensures I always have adequate backups of my library and I can update my devices whenever I can connect to the same build of iTunes.

I have a question about fields and NTSC 24fps.

I shoot in DV (30fps), edit with final cut, export using compressor to DVD studio pro. The end product is a DVD that get's played on a TV in the U.S. I have always used the sequence preset DV NTSC 48kz. Which is 29.97 fps. It works fine and that's the same preset I capture with.
Today while playing around with the presets I noticed a DV NTSC 24. Which is 24 fps and has a field dominance set to none.
Can someone explain this too me?
1. Why would someone use 24fps sequence preset on footage that is captured at 24 fps on the camera?
2. Why would someone set a field dominance to none. What does that give you? I am assuming it deinterlaces the orginal video footage and makes the footage progressive?
Can anyone help me out or point me to a good website that would explain some of this stuff.

Because if they shot 24P or 24PA, then they'd want to edit in a 24p timeline. (which runs at 23.98)

24P...P stands for PROGRESSIVE. No interlacing, therefore no fields...therefore no field dominance.

This is most likely because you are using the same iCloud account on both iPhones. To use iCloud you both require your own Apple ID.
Unless you have a recent backup of your iPhone, then the contacts are lost.

Hi all!
I recently got ahold of Logic Pro, and I'm loving how it works, but I have a question about the Orchestra template.
I used to use an application for making music that was done using normal music sheets, and to input notes, you would type in the letter on your keyboard corrosponding to the music scale of A, B, C, D, E, F, and G, with the ability to use arrow keys to move it up and down. Is there a way to do that in Logic Pro?

I forget to say you cannot open the PDF in AL11 and for that you need some configuration, i think it can be done using content server,not sure completely please wait for some more suggestions.

Question regarding roaming and data usage

I am currently out of my main country of service, and as such I have a question regarding roaming and data usage.
I am told that the airplane mode is sufficient from keeping the phone off from roaming, but does this apply to any background data usage for applications and such?
If the phone is in airplane mode, are all use of the phone including wifi and application use through the wifi outside of all extra charges from roaming?

Just to elaborate here, Ann154 is referring to access charges for wifi, which is nothing to do with Verizon, so if you are using it in a plane, hotel, an internet cafe etc that charges for Wifi rather than being free . Verizon does not charge you (or indeed know about!) wifi usage, or any other usage that is not on their cellular network (such as using a foreign SIM for example in global phones) So these charges, if any, will not show up on the verizon bill app. Having it in airplane mode prevents all cellular data traffic so you should be fine

No, they are not the same. The movement type transaction (OMJJ) links the account key and account modifier to a specific movement types. Transaction code (OBYC) contains the account assignments for all material document postings, whether they are movement type dependent or not. Account key BSX is not movement type dependent. Instead, BSX is dependent on the valuation class of the material, so it won't show in OMJJ.

You can have them on at the same time, but they will not be used at the same time for data. The order of preference for data is WiFi > 3G > EDGE > GPRS. You're getting the pop up, most likely, because you have Settings > Wi-Fi > Ask to Join Networks set to ON. You can set that to OFF, and the iPhone will still join known (i.e. previously used) WiFi networks automatically.

Create logical file path and read it in main program

Hello Experts,
My requirement is, I have to read files from application server.
File path/ Directory is different in different system (systid). i have to read all files starting with (xyz*) from mentioned directory.
This path i must define in logical path.
Following are the steps i followed.
1) In FILE (TCODE) i have created a logical path and assigned a physical path to it.
2) I have created logical file ( I am not sure about this, as i dont have to create logical file, i just need to read file from above path starting with xyz*, but FM FILE_GET_NAME requires logical file name so i have created it).
3) I will pass logical file name to FM FILE_GET_NAME and recieve physical file path(with file name which i can ignore).
these all steps i found on SDN. but its not working.
FM FILE_GET_NAME is always returning same file path ( Not even close to what i have defined ).
I can not read data from Table path as it will return physical path as it is, but i need it replaced with system id.
Any suggestion will be really helpful.

Hi Amar,
one difficulty defining physical path name is to know the right Syntax group.
For example if you habe OS Linux, you need Syntax Group UNIX here. In Table OPSYSTEM you can see, which OS (OPSYS) needs which FILESYS (Syntax Group).
If you always get a wrong physical path, this may be caused ba a wrong choice of the Syntax Group. Only the correct one will lead to the correct path.

Physical path and Logical name in File adapter

Hi All-
I am using a file adapter, in which i need to specify the physical path or logical path.
In dev environment my file adapter's input path is /c01/interface/dev/input, but in my test environment it is /u01/interface/test/input.
So everytime I have to change the path and deploy it in two different environment.
I am using unix environment, is there any way i can use some environmental variable $INPUT_DIR and use it in logical name so that in logical name i can use as $INPUT_DIR/input, where in dev $INPUT_DIR will be /c01/interface/dev and in test environment it is /u01/interface/test.
I have tried this but there is still some probelm, I want to know is the approach I am using is correct? or is there any other solution for it?

2. logical name: use a LogicalDirectory like "InputFileDir" and rewrite this inside the bpel.xml
