I have a version 1 iPad. I would like to be able to use my LCD projector to display content to my students. I have the dongle to attach to the projector, but can't make it work. The process DOES work with my friend's iPad 2. Any advice? Thanks!

Expanding on what deggie said, with an iPad 1 the app you're using must support video out. Only the iPad 2 can mirror the screen. The apps included with the iPad that output to external monitors are given here:

You can try this: If you can't update or restore your iOS device
If he had not turned on Find My iPad then it will work, if he had you will run into Activation Lock. If you do run into it you can take a copy of the will (or probate finding if he died without one) and/or a Letter Testamentary and ask if they can look up where he purchased it. If they can, and you have the other documents, they can reset it for you.

(Macbook air mini) and ive been wanting to be able to use Icloud etc but I dont know how, being that my phone is hooked up to mine AND my moms computer. Not that i have anything to hide but Id rather not have my pictures from my phone be sent to her computer!! Also, when i buy music on my phone, and then go to plug it into my computer it doesnt work/synch! I want to use i cloud too because i dont even have enough storage in my phone to even take a picture! I would like to expand briefly on my submitted question. I developed a spread sheet to monitor profit and loss on stocks that I trade. My P & L column currently displays the negative value of my purchase(s). I created a formula that includes my exit price of the stock which is zero until I sell some shares. I would like my P & L column to show a correct value and then of course total the column. I was able to create a formula that is mathematically correct using a variable divided by itself to give me a correct display but Numbers wouldn't allow it because sometimes that variable is equal to zero until I sell some shares of the stock and then the sell price gets plugged in. If that variable is any number besides zero then obviously the formula will be multiplying by one (1) and that will show me a correct value in my P & L column. Any suggestions or ideas? 0 / 0 is not defined. It is NOT equal to zero. it is a special case which you should avoid. If you have questions about the details of dividing by zero refer to here:

you may want to perform the divide only if the dividend is not zero or maks the error using the function iferror()
something like:
=iferror(A1/B1, 0)
this will attempt to divide A1 by B1 and return the result. if there is an error then the function will return zero

I would like to be able to sync from another ID on the same computer that sync now works on.

I have a laptop running XP SP2.
Sync was setup on this machine on an administrator account, and works fine. I usually run this machine from another non-administrator account. The device I am syncing to is an iPod Touch.
I would like to be able to use my existing Sync account.
When I start to add this device and am typing my email address in it does not let me complete the field.
I am running FF4 beta.

It would help to know which one of the 9 different models of MacBook you have. To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier and post it back here.

Besides that, There's a display ratio problem if I publish the ipa in landscape mode. I can't interact with the program either. But it is not a problem if the ipa is published in portrait mode.

But I must point out that leaving the iPhoto Library on the external is worth considering. Your internal drive would be better off without having to carry the photos.
When you booted with the external connected and you were asked for the library, did you try navigating to the Library in on the external drive?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Your best method would be to connect via USB and transfer that way, since videos are not transferred using photostream.
However you can stop photos on your mac being added to photostream in the iPhoto preferences > photostream by unchecking the automatic upload box.

Apple can do nothing.
You cannot block it from being "registered".
If you did not set up find my ipad before it was lost, then there is nothing you can do but change your passwords.
