I bought a macbook pro from a cash converters store. It was online and in the description didn't mention anything about this issue. I can't really explain it very well so here is a picture.

Thank you very much for your help.It's difficult to determine if your photograph shows a smudge on the exterior of the display, or if it is a display anomaly. Turn up the brightness. If the image changes it's a display problem.
You can clean the first one, but if it's the latter it is a hardware defect that will require parts, tools, labor or money to fix. -

You can find out your current system version by select About This Mac from the Apple menu. To make sure it is updated, select Software Update from the Apple menu. A Mac from Nov. 2011 is probably running "Lion," and the latest version of Lion is Mac OS X 10.7.4.
But that should not affect the connection of an external hard drive. There are no special updates for connecting standard external drives.
Does the external Toshiba drive connect by USB port? Is it the smaller type that gets power from the port (no conection except for the one cable), or is it larger (with its own power supply)? -
i have just bought a macbook pro and i want to use an ext hard drive with it which i previously used on a windows computer, but when i plug it in it doesn't show up on my macbook pro, I've wiped it and just need to format it but don't know how, any help would be much appreciated
Try the other USB port. If it still doesn't show up in Disk Utility then there may be something wrong with your Mac. Try something else in each USB port and see if it is seen. If the other thing, like a USB thumb drive, does show up in disk utiltiy then the USB ports are fine.
Power down the system and restart with the drive connected, go to DU and see it it is seen. -
I have just bought a Macbook Pro and sync data from my old version onto the new one...However when I tried opening the mail client...Message window does not appear. The old Macbook Pro I was using used Snow Leopard. Now with the new it is a Lion. Toruble now when I click onto new message window I have the spinning icon which show it is trying to load. I have recently bought a MacBook Pro, and downloaded my windows version of PSCS3 in Windows and am accessing it via Windows direscly or via paralells, BUT PS does not download my CR2 files, only the jpegs from my Canon 20D. PLease can someone help.

I bought my Macbook pro in 2010 and had Snow Leopard which I upgraded when Mountain Lion was available. Now it keeps saying Mavarick is available. Is that another update? Or is that something else?
Mavericks is an upgraded System in the same way that Mountain Lion was, the difference being that it's free. You can download the installer from the Mac App Store (the system requirements are the same as for Mountain Lion so you should be OK there). I've not got it: reports suggest that it is an improvement over Mountain Lion but it has some quirks that may or may not be an issue for you. It has its own forum, so you could look there for information.

I can't install my old logic 8 on my new macbook pro. It says it does not support powerpc applications anymore. what do i need to do?? this is ridiculous!!!
Logic 8 will probably run on your new machine but the installation program contains some older PPC code for pre Intel Macs. This was not a problem as all OSX versions contained the "Rosetta" PPC emulation, that is, up until Lion when all PPC emulation was dropped.
There are ways to do this however, try searching Google for: Installing Logic 8 under Lion or Mountain Lion. -

As far as I know, all the iPhones bought online or in the Apple Store ar unlocked.
Only carriers (e.g. T-mobile, Vodafone, O2) are able to lock a phone, Apple won't do that (afaik).
This would mean that you shouldn't need to unlock your iPhone.

yes it is very easy...
first of all your phone have to be all paided off.
if your phone is all paid off you can call your carrier (have someone who speaks korean to call) tell them that your moving/visiting your country and you would like your phone to be unlocked. somehow they do this over the phone and it takes three - four days for them to do this.
its real easy.
if your phone is not paid off you can just tell them that your visiting your country and you would like to use your phone there.
