I have an excess balance on my verizon pay as you go plan. If I cancel my plan, what happens to my remaining balance?

I was looking at switching to a 2yr contract with Verizon instead of my pay as you go. I went into the local corporate store and was told that my balance would not carry over if I switched because my number was ported from a different company and their computer program specifically stated that my balance would not transfer due to this. Since this is the case, If I cancel my pay as you go and switch to a contract, what happens to my money? There is over $100 that is an excess balance on my account and I don't want to lose that. Will I get a check returned to me since it wont transfer?

We are glad to hear that you are thinking of switching to our contract pricing. If you were to switch from our Pre-Pay and still have a balance the balance would not be able to be transferred. We are unable to refund the balance. We encourage you to use the balance up before you transfer.

I have an iPhone 4 and I'm paying my bills through the Pay As You Go $50 Monthly Plan. Lately, I couldn't send pictures messages or have wireless access to anyone on my phone. I'm able to send text messages and make calls but can't send picture messages or unable to have wireless internet unless it's under a Wi-Fi. If I'm under a GoPhone plan, what plan should I purchase in order to send pictures and have wireless access to my phone? Should I switch over to the the $65 Monthly Plan? Purchase the Feature Packages? Please help

My verizon wireless broke and I don't have insurance and I'm six months before I can qualify to renew a contract, so I'm stocked in trying to get a second hand phone, but I saw the same model of my broken phone selling in flea bay from the verizon pay as you go. My question is, can I use one of those phones to be activated on my verizon? I would hate to buy the phone and later find out that verizon won't activate it.

Pay as you go is the same as contract phone as far as the text package. If the other person does not have a message package then they would be charged but you would not be charged.

Of course if you are both connected to the same iCloud account you have the same contacts - what did you expect?. The contacts live on the server and are read from there by the devices; so as you've both managed to sync your contacts up to iCloud they are now inextricably mixed. You can only delete your contacts by deleting individual ones, and doing that will delete them from your phone as well.
You can only unravel this by
1. In the iCloud contacts page at http://icloud.com, select all the contacts, click on the cogwheel icon at bottom left and choose 'Export vCard'.
2. Sign out of System Preferences>iCloud
3. Create a new Apple ID and open a new iCloud account with it for your own use.
4. Import the vCard back into the iCloud contacts page.
5. Go to http://icloud.com and sign in with the original ID. This is now his ID. Work through the contacts individually deleting the ones you don't want him to have. When done sign out and advise him to change his password.
6. Go to the new iCloud account and delete his contacts individually.
Of course if you have also been syncing calendars and using the same email address there are problems with doing this.

AND keep 50-100 GB of free space on a startup drive to allow proper function of virtual memory in all OS X versions from 10.5x to current versions.
10.4x can get by with 20 GB of free space on the boot drive, but more is always better.
I try and keep all boot drives between 50 and 60% of capacity.
Beyond 60% and up to 90% capacity, seek times increase almost exponentially; performance suffers.

I got it working with the help of Live Chat tech support. There was some sort of error happening with my graphics driver... something that was not a problem with my previous version of Photoshop was now a problem with the new version. I updated the graphic card driver and software via the manufacturer's website and that helped me get through.
After updating the driver... at first it felt like I was going backward a bit... I got an expired trial period error again on opening Photoshop the first time, but then I tried again logging out and logging back in to CC as noted previously ( http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/cc-applications-crash-immediately- launch.html ) ... and this time that helped fix the trial error and this time that was not followed by crashing (thanks to the graphics driver update).
I have an ATI Radeon HD 5670 graphics card. The previous version of the driver I was running did not work with Photoshop CC. I have now updated the driver to version 12.104.0.0 and everything is working now.

It depends how long the Sim has been disconnected for. If it is less than 3 months it may be possible to re-activate.

MMS turned on? Settings>Messages>SMS/MMS>MMS Messaging>On. If MMS is turned on, can you send/receive SMS's? If so, contact your carrier. 99.9% of the time, if MMS is turned on & you can send/receive SMS's, the problem rests with your carrier. Either MMS is not provisioned properly on your account, or not provisioned at all.

Do i have to buy a phone from verizon to use the edge plan? can i buy a used verizon phone and still recive the $25 per month discount with 10 gigs of data?

Don't do it... That verizon Edge will literally bring you over the edge should you try to leave, be sure to read the complete contract which they don't advertise correctly...
Verizon Wireless is basically a criminal who misleads their customers. My contract was almost up. I sign up for the Edge program, and the way it was explained to me, was "oh this way you can upgrade when you want (really once a year) and you aren't in a contract". Well that was a lie. I decide to go elsewhere so I call and ask what I need to do. They say "well, you are in a contract", (ok that wasn't told to me but fine) I ask what my termination fee is, they say "To get out of your edge program, you have to pay the $500 remaining fee for your phone ( Galaxy S5 which I was paying monthly, $25) and a termination fee for your service of $150."
HOLD up, so basically you are telling me that you guys came up with a way to charge two **** termination fees????? If I decided to take my phone with me, I could almost understand that, but If I give the phone back, why would I be paying for something that is no longer in my possession??? They say" That is how the Edge program works" WHAT COMPANY RUNS GAME LIKE THAT ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY ARE GOING TO TAKE THAT PHONE AND RESELL IT??? iTunes remembers the location of each file in the database. If you right-click on a missing file, click Get Info, cancel when it asks you to try to find it, then look on the summary tab it will show you the last known location in the form file://localhost/<some path>. If you put the files back where they are expected to be, close iTunes and reopen, then iTunes will find them again. If not my script can attempt the task. When the script asks for a media folder you should respond with Z:\ since that seems to be where the artist folders are located.

Verizon You where doing so well... What happened

Ok.. it was going soooo well for a couple of weeks... new functionality....stable serever... I knew it was to good to be true... Unable since yesterday, 7/4 , starting at 2 to view any recordings already on the my screen.. Plus i received a multitude of notifications that cameras where recording but no sign of them on the server.... this is very dissapointing to say the least. It was looking so promiising having it work the way it was meant to work.. Did the server have a 4th of july bar b q to go to? You are still hawking your products with smiling happy people on the add page....false adverstising ... not many smiling faces when it comes to Home Control...... I am ready to send it all back.

I see you are as satisfied as I am as a Verizon Home Control customer. As of 10 am today I am able to view recordings prior to 2:00 pm yesterday July 4 - but it seems they are just going to forget about the recordings that took place after that????? It is extremely important that I am able to view recordings after 2 on July 4 - the main reason I bought the system is to view activity when I am NOT at my home.
I really would expect these recordings to be pushed to our accounts.

MY wife and I share and Apple ID . We both have iPads, iPods, and iphones
all our purchases in iTunes , apps and iCloud are on this . If we create a new ID for one of us do we lose any of the data and purchased material or do we still share?

I would suggest that one of you retain the existing AppleID and use it for the iTunes Store, iCloud, and Messages on their iOS device and/or Mac accounts.
Then, the other one of you can create a new AppleID.
You then have two choices for how to share your existing store purchases:
1) You can try the new "Family Sharing" feature: http://www.apple.com/ios/whats-new/family-sharing/
2) Or you can simply continue to use the original AppleID as your "iTunes Store" login on all of your devices (yours and your wife's), yet use a different AppleID to login to iCloud and Messages.
Family Sharing is supposed to be the solution to the problem and does indeed have some interesting shared features. However, just using the same iTunes Store login has worked reliable for years.
The important this to realize is that in iOS and Mac OS, the logins for the Apple Store, Messages, and iCloud are all completely separate and can be independently configured. So, you can each use your own AppleID for login to each of those services. Just make sure to both login to the iTunes Store service using the same original AppleID.

How do I make use of a "Pay-As-You-Go" credit balance from a Verizon basic phone account??

I have replaced a Verizon basic phone with a Verizon smart phone. My basic phone is on a "Pay-As-You-Go" plan with over a $300.00 credit balance. Yet Verizon been unable to tell me how I can get some usage of this credit balance. If I stop my Auto-Pay, I will lose the whole credit balance. Does anyone knows of some way I can get some usage of this credit balance??
