Hmm.
Probably easier for me to put all my stuff on my wife's computer I suppose.
Rebuilding all those iTunes playlists is not very fun though.
And of course anything new that I want on my laptop I will have to duplicate on her laptop in the future.
Not sure how iCloud works just yet.
So you can't have two laptops and manually sync both people's stuff to one iPad?

How do I get a game to work in more than just my account?
I bought a game for my son at the weekend, which I installed successfully and it works fine in my account. But despite having it selected in Parental Controls, it won't work in his account. I tried removing all controls for him, but it still didn't work. The icon for the program looks like the general Apple icon, with ruler, brush, and pencil, and when you click on it a message appears saying "You cannot open the application because it may be damaged or incomplete". Well this isn't true, because it works in my account.
I tried searching for info about the error message on the Internet, and found advice on dealing with the message when it appeared with a completely different program. It advised right-clicking on the icon, and clicking on Show Package Contents, then Contents>Mac OS. Then it said double click on the icon (which opens Terminal) in there and next time it should run OK. This didn't work, but I noticed that there was not as much text in the Terminal window in my son's account as in mine, so I wonder if I need to enter the same text for him. This is all getting rather complicated, but does anybody know anything about Terminal, and whether any of this makes sense? Or is there something else I need to do?Sphinx,
The folder that you copied should already contain any saved games, and they must remain where they are, relative to the game itself.
If you would like the copy to go back into the Applications folder, go right ahead and put it there, replacing the original. As long as you are just moving it, not making a copy, ownership will be retained by your son.
Kiraly has posted a command for use in Terminal. The command he has given does nothing for ownership, but rather changes permissions such that anyone will be able to run the game. The problem with this is that any new saved games will revert to the default permissions, and you will again encounter errors.
It is far better, in my opinion, to manage ownerhip in this case, not permissions.
OK, let's get started. The command to change ownership of any item is rather simple:

the "who" part will refer to a user by short name, and the "what" part will be the path to a file or folder. So far, we have three elements included in our command, and each one is separated by a space. The problem with this is that we can only modify items that we own; only "root" can modify items regardless of ownership. So, we are more often required to "become root" in order to execute this command:

By preceeding our command with "sudo," we tell the command to execute as the "root user." Only admin users are allowed to perform this action, so we will be asked for our admin password. Once we have typed the command correctly, we press <RETURN>. We will receive a password prompt. We then type our password (it will not be echoed) and again press <RETURN> to execute the command.
This works fine for single files, but we will usually be dealing with more than a single item. Your case is a good example; one where ownership of an entire directory structure, including any "nested" files and folders, must be changed. For this, we need to add an "option" to the command: the "-R" option. This tells the command to change the ownership of the item named in the "path," and then to do the same "recursively" to every file and/or folder nested inside. It also implies that the target is a directory:

Let's now talk about the two remaining variables, the "arguments" to the command.... The first argument (the "who" part) requires a bit of discussion. In simple terms, this will be a user's short name. However, it will most often also be necessary to change the "group ownership" when we change ownership. There is a separate command to accomplish this, but we can easily forego the need to use this second command by including it in this one. The tool we must use to do this is the ":" modifier, inlcuded in our "who" argument. In 10.3 and later, all users are members of their own, unique group, so we simply use their short name (which is also their group) twice:

Now for the final part, the "what" argument... As stated earlier, this will be the path to the intended target (for example, /Users/HOME/Documents/My_Folder). Here, we must discuss the possibility that a path name will include spaces. We can name directories in OS X using spaces, but UNIX needs a little help with them. Since UNIX will normally see any space as an indication that another element to the command is coming, we must explicitly tell it that such is not the case. In other words, we must "escape" the space. We do this by using the forward slash before our space: "\" Let us assume that we have a folder named "My Folder" for which we want to change ownership. Our command will look something like this:

Obviously, the above command also assumes that we are logged in as "fred," and we are giving ourselves ownership of a folder in "fred's" HOME folder.
If this path naming convention is daunting to you, or you simply aren't sure of the correct path, the process can be automated somewhat. Any item can be dragged from the Finder into the Terminal window, and Terminal will automatically fill in the correct path. In this case, we would type the first part of our command:
<pre style="overflow:auto; font-family: 'Monaco'; font-size: 10px">sudo chown -R fred:fred</pre>
Next, we would type a trailing space, and then we would drag our folder from the Finder into the Terminal window. Finally, we would press <RETURN>, enter our admin password, then press <RETURN> again to execute.

I Have 2 users on my computer and both access i-tunes using same password etc. however 1 library has the full content of music but the other one has only partial playlists. How do I get both users to have the same full library?
The title of my initial post is a bit misleading. I already took a chance deleting one of the iPhones, hoping if I deleted the wrong one, I can still reauthorize it (all with the same Apple ID acct, so not subject to 90-day waiting period, right?) The iTunes database just updated itself, and it says I have 4 "devices" "in the Cloud", but 5 "computers" associated w my account. How can I find out what computers are associated? Isn't there a list I can see? I dont have a clue what computers they might be. If I use the "Deauthorize All" option, is it a pain to add them all back in. I assume I would have to log in from each computer to reauthorize each one. Would I have to be running the newest OS or version of iTunes to reauthorize? I think I have a PowerBook G4 Titanium with an older OS and iTunes. I'd like to keep that authorized, if possible.

My iPod Classic is seen by Windows but not by iTunes. I have reset it, gone to disk mode and it won't show up in iTunes. There appears to be music on it in a file called MUSICSAVE. How can I get this to work with iTunes again?
1. Update iTunes to the latest version. Plug in your iPod. If iTunes still can't recognize it, then in iTunes in the top left corner click help> run diagnostics. On the box that comes up, check the last two things. Click next and it should identify your iPod.
2. Click on your windows start menu. Type in "services". Click on it and when it pops up, on the bottom of it click on "standard". Now Scroll down to find "Apple Mobile Device" Right click it when you see it and click on "Start". When it has started, close iTunes and replug in your iPod and it should show up.
3. Check the USB cable
4 Verify that Apple Mobile Device Support is installed
5. Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service and verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed.
6. If you just want to add some photos, songs and movies from computer to your devices, you can use an iTunes alternative to do the job
7. Check for third-party software conflicts.

No, iCloud doesn't sync music between devices. To get your music on your iPad, sync it with iTunes.

I have 2 apple store accounts and this has resulted in 2 iTunes accounts with different TV show purchases. How can I get both on my AppleTV? It was suggested I sign out of the current active AppleTV account and sign in with the other. I can find no way to do this. Also, I have been advised by Apple that I cannot consolidate the two accounts.
I am certain you are doing backups of your TV shows on your computer in iTunes?! If not, do so. You should also make sure that you backup both accounts. Now, for your problem, you could combine the backups to one location then use your computer function on your Apple TV to watch all of your TV shows in one place. The only other way to watch both accounts is to actually go into account settings on your Apple TV and change the account info to the account you want to watch the TV shows in that account. Sounds awful, probably is.

Can I share one iTunes account for my iPad and two I phones? If so, how can I get the purchased apps and music on all three devices? How do I sync all the devices to have the same music and apps?
You can set up an iCloud account on each one (the SAME iCloud account using the same AppleID on each) and then sync via iCloud.

However, an iCloud backup nor sync contains purchased content - that is available for redownload from the iTunes and App stores (so no need to waste iCloud space storing it for you).
So, for purchased content, you will have to download it on each device - just use the same AppleID and download each item on each device.
Without a computer to aid the sync'ing, downloading the purchased content on each device is the only way.
P.S audiobooks cannot be re-downloaded once purchased (all other content can be), so without a computer to save, store and move the audiobook files around, you will only be able to put those on one device - the one you first purchase it on. -
Not to repaet myself, but... where are my ebooks?
I sync-ed iTunes 10.6.3.25 on Win7 with new iPad3 WiFi/3G and iTunes shows (on my PC) that I have 590 "ebooks" (PDF's & a few epub's) on my iPad, but for the life of me I can't seem to get to them on the iPad3 itself. If I open iTunes on the iPad3 it only shows a bland grey screen with a link to the "iTunes Stores Terms and Conditions…"? And my iBooks is empty, so is Acrobat Reader which I installed?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

In the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports (not "Diagnostic and Usage Messages") for crash reports related to the crashed process. The report name starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot. I know the report is long. Please post all of it anyway.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful. -

Tap the Apple ID then tap Sign Out then sign in with your Apple ID.
Perhaps you have more than one user account on your laptop and iTunes content was synced using another Apple ID from that account.
