Do you have the disks that came with the old Mac? If you do you can install the iApps from one of those disks.
Otherwise, what Mac model do you have? Go the the ➙ About This Mac menu and then click on More Information. In the System Information under Hardware you'll find Model Name. What is the model? I'tll be something like Macbook 5,2.

I have always been able to create playlists on itunes, then drag them to my ipod when it is plugged into the mac. I recently downloaded the latest version of itunes, and now am unable to do that. I can drag songs and albums to the ipod, but not my playlists. It used to be so easy, am I missing something here?
Plug your iPod into your computer, it will begin to sync. Now check to see if the playlists have been added.
If not, go to the songs tab under your iPod when it is connected to iTunes, Unless you have checked "Sync all songs (or something to those words)" you should have an option on what you can put on your iPod. Make sure to check the playlists that you want on your iPod. -
I have a lot of videos processed using elements 2. I have bought a MAC. If I buy the newest version of elements for my new mac, will i be able to easily transfer the videos to the newest version i.e. will the new software automatically integrate the work done on those videos. What is your "Elements 2" - Photoshop Elements 2 or Premiere Elements 2? For now I will assume Premiere Elements 2 which had to be on some version of Windows.
What do you have from Premiere Elements 2 - project files (.prel) or exports to file formats such as .avi or .mpg or .mov?
Project files from Premiere Elements (any version) Windows cannot be used in Premiere Elements (any version) Mac.
Video files exported from Premiere Elements 2 with its QuickTime choice (.mov files) would be likely to open in Premiere Elements 13 Mac. The other Premiere Elements
2 choices of MPEG and Windows Media would be expected to need conversion to .mov or .mp4 before import into Premiere Elements 13.
In Premiere Elements 13 Mac, consider importing the files from wherever you save files in Mac to a project with the project's Expert workspace Add Media/Files and Folders/Project Assets. I would strongly encourage you to set the project preset manually (File Menu/New/Project) to match the properties of these source files before import rather than let the project do it manually for you based on the properties of the first video dragged to the Timeline.

When I upgraded to IOS5, my playlists no longer appear on the iPOD. When I do a Sync, the playlists appear, but will not sync to the iPOD. Any suggestions on how to resolve??
I would understand it if you checked email on your Mac, and then those messages were not available on your iOS devices if you had the advanced account setting "remove copy from server after retrieving message:" set to immediately.
I looked through my iPhone settings and don't even see an option to tell my phone to pull the only copy of a message and delete it from the server.
Possibly there is another setting in Lion (I am running Snow Leopard still) that tells your Mac to only synchronize mail to your iOs devices and is not pulling mail directly from iCloud.
You could try disabling your current iCloud email account in Mac Mail, and adding a new one and just telling Mail it is a standard IMAP account (imap.mail.me.com incoming and smtp.mail.me.com outgoing).
I did that for Leopard to get my email even to work after MobileMe is cancelled and it seems to work fine with my iPhone.
If that doesn't work, you can delete that new email account and re-enable the temporarily disabled iCloud email account from above.

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?
(Assuming that the QuickTime and Safari messages were also citing bonjour64.msi, you should also then be good to go with those installs too.) -

I want to keep my existing ios (5.0.1) as it is on my iphone now.
I've been told to back up and restore by itunes but I am worry of updating my ios to the latest version automatically.

MohsenRestoring your phone, as is required to complete the unlock of your phone WILL update your iOS to the most current version. There's no way around this.
Either you keep 5.0.1 and a locked phone, or you get 6.0 and an unlocked phone. Your choice. -

This is a copy of ONEof the keys in the registry I changed as told by Apple support today. I also have changed others as instructed by GEAR software support to manually delete GEAR drivers (that I had installed but couldn't delete some of the others they mentioned from Windows system 32. Then some bright spark at work told me I need the Gear drivers so I downloaded the software and installed again.

Hi all, please help me reinstall Itunes onto my PC. When i did a pc refresh, it deleted my itunes and microsoft office. I am now trying to reinstall itunes and am getting the following message each time i try run the new downloaded version ( i have tried a few older and the latest one and all show the same message)

When I connect ipod touch 4th generation to Mac using usb I get a message that new software vertion (6.1.5) is available for iPod! If I update it, I lose apps and data, but when I check general settings about version for iPod not iPad 4th generation I see version 4.3.5 (8L1). Probably if I update it to the latest version it would say 6.1.5 (8L1). But what (8L1) for iPod mean? And what (8J2) for iPad touch 4th generation mean?An iPod touch, 4th generation can be updated to version 6. An iPad 4th generation can be updated to iOS 7.0.4, which is the most current iOS.
In both cases, you MUST, MUST, do a BACKUP of all data before you update!!
You will probably have to restore from backup after update if you do have version 4.3.3 on a device. This device will need to be connected to a computer running iTunes version 11.1.4
