I have bought a second hand 3gs on O2 which was working fine and since restoring it (which put ios5 on) it now keeps saying no sim and has searching in the top left corner which then says no service once itunes asks for a sim to be inserted to activate?
I bought an iphone 3gs on o2 which was working fine till i restored it (which put ios5 on to it) now it wont activate, it keeps saying on itunes no sim inserted and on the iphone it has searching then says no service! Any ideas what i can do as cant get any further!
Some SIM cards were affected by iOS updates. Either contact O2 to get a replacement SIM or pop into a local phone shop and pick up a replacement SIM.
Once you have your new SIM, O2 have a swap my SIM page on their web site here:

Follow the instructions on the O2 page and you should be up and running.
O2 do say it can take up to 24 hrs for SIM to be active, but I found it usually only takes half an hour or so before the new SIM is active.

you can try a reset, hold down the home/sleep button until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait fro the phone to boot back up.

Yesterday morning, my phone decided to kick me of my network and not let me back in. In the top left corner, it just says 'Searching...'. I have tried restarting my phone, resetting all settings and resetting network settings and nothing has decided to work for me. I then went to reset my phone but it will not let me log out of 'Find my Phone'. Therefore it did not allow me to reset my phone.

MY I4S PHONE CUTS OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF DAY FOR NO REASON. IT WILL NOT TURN BACK ON UNTILL I PLUG THE USB INTO THE COMPUTER. THEN IT HAS "SEARCHING " AT THE TOP LEFT PART OF THE SCREEN. My ipod was working just fine for the past 2 years and ever since upgrading to ios 6.1.3, i simply cannot play games or anymore such as Subway surfers, carrot fantasy, 4 pics 1 word, etc. I also noticed that i had 1.2 GB of free space on ios 5.1.1 but then decreased to 900+ MB after "upgrading" to ios 6.1.3. I then deleted one of my space-hungry apps (the sims freeplay) to clear up some space and now have 1.6 GB of free memory. Just a thought, could apple have purposely done this with their software update to actually make an older, phased-out product such as my ipod touch 4th gen work worse than it has in its previous versions of softwares to force you to scrap it for a newer product?

Unfortunately this has happened 4 times with me having to reset it each time. The last time only the ICCID is missing anyone help me cure this or is it buggered?

Constant high pitched nosie from the top left corner
My macbook is only 3 weeks old and I keep getting this high pitched noise coming from the top left corner. It's really annoying. Anyone has the same problem?
Yes My unibody 2.4 MacBook is intermittently having the same annoying SQUEALING issue. I can never replicate the noise it comes and goes as it pleases. It seems to be loudest under the upper left hand corner of the key board. After pulling a hand full of hair out I decided to investigate the issue. The volume level of the squeal stays the same, however the pitch of the squeal changes when you raise and lower the brightness setting.
Is this common? The squealing noise will "get to you" like fingernails on a chalk board. HELP
Is any one else having this issue?

Yes, I agree - 10 seconds can be a bit short for a backlight, but it makes you read faster and act faster - and that is a skill you can use everywhere in live.
In my next Nokia I hope they take it down to 9 seconds :-) -
I have changed my account to SIM only and when I put my new SIM Card into my iPhone 4 it just says 'no service' in the top left corner, also iMessage has stopped working too. I can only use my phone on my WiFi at the moment, does anyone have any idea?
I already have, I contacted Orange yesterday and they said I will receive a text to confirm the registrastion for my new SIM Card, they said the text would arrive between 2 and 24 hours and its been over 24 hours with no text recieved

Call AT&T and see if you meet their requirements for unlocking the phone. If you don't, then you'll have to purchase a different phone entirely.
