I have bought an 8GB 4G iTouch, it has maximum volume issue
My 8GB iPod Touch is having very low maximum volume. I have checked the maximum level setting it is set to max. When I drag the volume bar to half, volume goes very faint. I have compared with with my friends iPod, it seems like mine really have some issue. Same song was played on both the pods, friends maximum volume was around 40% more. Only difference was, friend's 64gb pod was bought in US and I bought it in India. Is there different manufacturing norms followed for different countries.
When I went to the reseller, to talk about the issue. He played all the pods on display at the store, all were having same volume levels. It was a surprise. Please let me know, is it a defect? Has someone also encounter the same issue?

Is there any technical specification that supports this. I have searched every corner on apple.com for itouch, didnt get any update what you have said.
I don't think you will find anything from Apple referring specifically to the EU limit, I never have. But there have been plenty of posts on this forum, in the past three years, concerning this subject. It is not unique to Apple; all MP3 players now sold within the European Union have their maximum volume capped, I believe at 85 decibels. You will find news articles on the BBC and other UK sites, from the end of 2009.
However, like all EU legislation, we receive all the information about it second-hand, none of us mere citizens get to read these EU rules for oursleves. Our news media tells us.
You will simply have to have faith that what I have said about the EU maximum volume limit is fact. It's what I have to do. I can understand your reluctance to accept my word on this, I too have read the post to you, from the person whose answer to everything is to restore the ipod. Actually, even funnier was his suggestion that all you had to do was turn the iPod off for two minutes. Now that was funny!
What's more relevant to you is that you ask your supplier if there is any chance that your iPod came from the European Union Market. If necessary, put them on the spot by explaining that you know the difference between an EU iPod and a non-EU iPod. (You do, I've explained it.)
We haven't established beyond doubt that this is the cause of your problem. But if you do have an EU iPod, then it will have a lower maximum volume than an iPod destined for the USA.
One solution to your problem is to use a headphone amplifier, inline between the iPod and your headphones. Search the internet for "portable headphone amps", "CMoy amp", or "Altoid Amp". (Many of the Cmoy amps have been built into Altoid mints tins.) They run on a 9volt battery. I use one.
If you do start using a headphone amplifier, just remember why the rules were introduced here in the EU - to prevent hearing loss due to excessive volume.

I bought my Gramp an iTouch 8GB for Christmas. He has put two apps on it and now it is saying he only has 2GB of availability. Why has the iTouch filled up so quickly when there is no data on it? No music, no videos, nothing! PLEASE HELP!
I understand that the ios takes up some and leaves you with 6.5 gb available but the thing I was having a trouble is that a bug or something was on the ipod and I hadn't download anything at all and it said I only had 2GB available! I did a restore and now everything is okay and normal but I definitely had some kind of bug because there was no data on there and it said I only had 2GB available which was really strange. But thanks for responding!!

I have just aquired an iPod Touch 2nd Generation 8GB. When it is connected to my PC, running Vista home, it says it has synced successfully but I can,t transfer onto it an album I have bought and downloaded from iTunes. Help!!! This is my first Apple product so I have no experience and no manual.
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer? If so you can only use the manual method and that only works with music and videos.

Hello Apple!

I have the old one so bought iphone4 8gb IMEI: 012540006987250 ICCID: 8,984,011,302,509,158,485. After the 7.0.6 update wool restore the computer, it requires icloud id. I do not know what it's id. Because there were so many phone users so no one knows. Now it becomes a paperweight map. Is there a way to reopen the phone there? I hope you can help me, I do not want to waste the money spent, so the phone becomes useless. Thank you very much!Hi there, this isn't Apple but a users discussion forum. I have recently bought an 8Gb macbook pro. If I update it to mountain lion will it take half of the memory I have?
Well thats upto you but before any major update a backup is recommended, you should also be backing up your system as a matter of good housekeeping.
Time machine makes this very easy, you will require an external disk at least twice the size * of your hard drive in you Mac. Connect it to you Mac with USB, Firewire or Thunderbolt, whatever you wish. You can use Time Machine to take a backup of the hard drive.
If you are unfortunate and have a hard drive fail you can recover all your data very easily.
Apple also sell a product called Time Capsule http://www.apple.com/timecapsule/ but I just use an External Disk.
*** Twice the size may be a bit excessive, it depends on how full your hard drive is and how much you expect it to fill.*** -

Authorization and Deauthorization
Macs: iTunes Store- About authorization and deauthorization.
Windows: How to Authorize or Deauthorize iTunes | PCWorld.
In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.
More On De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
1. Open iTunes on a computer
2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
You may only do this once per year.
After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

I have one iPhone 8GB. After making un upgrade of iTunes and software of iPhone, it's impossible to use it. There's no service! doesn't acept PIN code! it only makes emergency calls and the image in the iPhone is the sign to connect to iTunes. What can i do to solve it?
Where are you and where did you get the phone. This sounds like a classic symptom of someone who bought an iPhone that originated in the U.S. which was then hacked so it would run on a carrier network other than AT&T... Then, when updating the phone, it becare re-locked to AT&T.
If that's what happened, you now own a paperweight. AT&T will NOT unlock them for any reason.
If this isn't the case, please clarify where you are, what carrier you have and where you got the phone so we can begin troubleshooting. -
I bought an ipod touch online called 3rd generation 8gb and saw that the apple site make him 2nd generation and I can't upgrade for 4.3 !
You may have noticed the 8GB description was missing a few parts. And they were not advertising it as a 3RD Gen

I bought an 8GB iPod Touch in July 2010 and it was sold as a third generation iPod. Now, apparently, I can't update to iOS 5.0 because i 'don't have a late enough generation ipod' according to apple.
Here is another thoight. You pay $220 for an iPod and then, a year later, you cant update it because apple has phased out the hardware.
