I have down loaded itunes (windows) on my desk top and when i click on the icon it takes 4 to 5 minutes for the program to open. also the program does not open when i connect my iphone. Help!
Why does it take 4 to 5 minutes for my itunes program to open? it also frequently freezes while i am trying to work with it. it won't open when i connect my iphone? this is on my desk top with Windows 7.

If so, in Edit > Preferences > Advanced is the option to "prevent syncing of iDevices" selected?
Another possibility, in Control Panel > Default Programs > Change Auto Play Settings > what is the system set to do when an iPhone is connected?

For some unknown reason, my Apple ID Password does not work when trying to down load IBooks, Nook books, or new Apps. Everything else seems to work. Any suggestions out their???
I appreciate the info and realize that the Nook App is not related to my Apple account but this too has stopped working. My situation first started with the Nook App not down loading and then has now spread to my IBook and new app downloads. I have checked into my ITunes account and the ID and password are correct and at times when I am asked to submit my Apple password such as setting up this Apple Support Community the ID and password work. My problem seems to be just with trying to use my ID and password when wanting to download new books or apps. I can go into the IBook, Nook, and App stores and seemingly download an item but when clicking on the new book or app nothing happens and I get a message that states it can not get into the ITunes store and it wants me to either try again or cancel. This message appears usually ten minutes after I have tried to make a purchase. At other times when I attempt to download a book or app I lose the screen and the IPad goes into the opening screen. Short of redoing my Apple account or deleting an app and attempting to reload the app (but this won't work because the App store won't load new apps) I don't have a clue what to do.

I have installed Angry Birds Seasons HD on my iPad. It has installed, but another icon with a full blue bar with 'installing' written below is displayed. It's not even being deleted... HELP!
Repeating your question in the post doesn't fully explain what the problem is. Are you saying that you installed the game and it is trying to install again?
Without knowing anymore than why you have posted ..... try rebooting the iPad and see if the installing resumes, the download disappears .....
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. -

In going over this, thanks to "tallking it out" with you, I did discover the Text Edit problem. Because I've still been unable to get the new computer text size (fonts or whatever) to match the old computer, I did not notice that the curser is now different--the line midway down the curser has to be placed on the line I am working upon, otherwise the edits go elsewhere on the page. Now, with a bit of difficulty, I am able to get Text Edit to work correctly.
If you have any ideas as to why my menu bar and Text Edit type are still so slow, I'd love to have them.
(I went through the process you suggested earlier, re my Trackpad preferences, and found no improvement.) -

why can't i empty my trash bin? it prompts me to dele ''all locked items'' or ''unlocked items''...when i click delete ''all''...it runs up to a total of approx 29000 items, yet it does not remove it securely or at all! I am running OS X YOSEMITE

When clicking on a pdf file it does not open and then it opens hundreds of tabs. The only way to stop it is to shut off the computer.
You probably have an incorrect action type set for pdf files, it will be set to "use Firefox" rather than using a pdf application such as Adobe Reader. I'm using XP sp3, fully patched with the current version of firefox 3. 6.12. I have 4 gb memory and a 250 gb hard drive. Most of which is all free, so I have lots of memory and hard drive space. I was using firefox and everything was working fine. I shut it down and when I went back later, it would not open at all. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, renamed the user acct, followed all directions I could find and firefox will not open. I've run all kinds of scans on my computer for viruses or malware and found nothing. Everytime I try to open firefox, I get the crash reporter and it will not open at all. I would appreciate some help. I don't know what else to try. I use firefox as my default browser.

I don't have the problem on Vista or XP. I have no problems when I am logged on as administrator. When logged on as a regular user some or all of the Firefox windows will open and then immediately close. It does not help to run as administrator or set other compatability options. I also see this on Thunderbird. I have not seen this problem on any of my other software.

This only started happening about 2 days ago. I will have tabs open, go to bookmarks and click on one. It seems that it is not opening but I then discovered that there is a tab at my desktop bottom tray that opened instead that I can click on to open the tab. However, it will not open unless I first minimize my bottom tray whole Firebox browser.
That is the default action when you open a new tab. There are extensions that you can install to change it from a blank page to whatever you want.

For some unaparent reason opening a new tab does not open my home page google. Been ok for years
Now on Firefox 28.0. I got an update for Divx and installed. Following this new tabs were direct to search.conduit. I uninstalled this but now when I open new tabs I get a blank page and have to manually direct to my homepage. Previously a new tab opened automatically as my home page (Google). Starting Firefox gets me the correct homepage. How can I ensure that each new tab opens to my homepage?
Your settings might have switched when you installed DivX. You can set the new tab page to something different by the following:
*Navigate to about:config
*Click ''I'll be careful, I promise!''
*Search for '''browser.newtab.url'''
*Double click the string, erase ''about:newtab'' and enter the one you want (www.google.com)
*Close down Firefox and re-open. -

I have the CS6 production suite. All the programs work except Premier Pro. It starts but tells me I need to upgrade my video software, which I have done.
