Firefox was working fine, I closed it and later it would not open at all. I've uninstalled and reinstalled and it will now open. I've followed all the directions and all I get is the crash reporter when I try to open firefox. It does not open at all. HELP

I'm using XP sp3, fully patched with the current version of firefox 3. 6.12. I have 4 gb memory and a 250 gb hard drive. Most of which is all free, so I have lots of memory and hard drive space. I was using firefox and everything was working fine. I shut it down and when I went back later, it would not open at all. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, renamed the user acct, followed all directions I could find and firefox will not open. I've run all kinds of scans on my computer for viruses or malware and found nothing. Everytime I try to open firefox, I get the crash reporter and it will not open at all. I would appreciate some help. I don't know what else to try. I use firefox as my default browser.

From your screenshot, you have a Windows 7 apparently 64 bit computer, lots of RAM. That computer would be great for Premiere Elements 11 Windows.
But Premiere Elements 8 is only a 32 bit application running in the 32 bit compatibility mode of your 64 bit system. So all that RAM is excessive in a 32 bit system with its limitation of max supported installed RAM being 4 GB (of which 3 GB or less of that are available).
So, the freezing and such could be explained by limited resources depending how much you have in the project when the freezing occurs and what formats are involved - like AVCHD. The burner not being recognized by Premiere Elements is probably another matter.
Let us start here....another place where you could be getting hit on the resource side of things....
1. Background Rendering and AutoAnalzyer features in version 8 are notorious for grabbing system resources. If you have them enabled, that could account for much of the program freezing. So, please make sure they are not selected.
a. Background Rendering. In the Premiere Elements 8 workspace, go to Edit Menu/Preferences/General, and make sure there is no check mark next to Background Rendering option.
b. AutoAnalzyer. In the Premiere Elements workspace, click on the Organizer tab in the row below the selected Organize header in order to open the Elements Organizer. In the Elements Organizer workspace, go to Edit Menu/Preferences/AutoAnalyzer Options and uncheck all the option under that.
To get back to the Premiere Elements workspace from the Elements Organizer workspace, in the Elements Organizer workspace go to File Menu/Exit.
For most of us, Premiere Elements 8 was unusable without the 8.0.1 Update. Did you install that? Have you ever worked successfully with your Premiere Elements 8 on the computer where it is now? And, was that with or without the 8.0.1 Update?
Let us stop here and see how we are doing.
Lots of other factors to get into including the burner recognition one.

Firefox was working fine in the morning, after half a day, it just crashed and now every time i try to start FF it crashes, i reinstalled FF, even tryed FF 4 beta, every time same crash report window, and nothing happens.

Other applications print okay? If so, try deleting the Preview .plist
You need to look in your user Library/Preferences for the .plist. Hold down the option key while using the Finder "Go To Folder" command. Enter ~`/Library. Delete the .plist(s) for the application.
If you prefer to make your user library permanently visible, use the Terminal command found below. It does work with Mountain Lion:

You might want to bookmark the command. I had to use it again after I installed 10.8.2. I have also been informed that if you drag the user library to Finder it will remain visible.

Did Firefox update to 4.0.1?
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

Firefox 6 hangs without an error message/crash report when I try to run it.

I've been running a previous version of Firefox 3.x without incident and just tried upgrading to Firefox 6. I've had this same problem with trying to upgrade to Firefox 5 in the past. The installer runs fine and reports no problems. The first time I try to run Firefox after installing, I get a dialog box saying something along the lines of "Checking your add-ons for compatibility..." and the application IMMEDIATELY hangs. I have to kill the process from Windows Task Manager. Afterwards, trying to run Firefox simply results in no visible instance of anything running, although the process still hangs in the background taking up 25% CPU and ~10-20MB of memory. However, when I try opening a locally saved .html file, Firefox successfully runs and initially loads/displays the page, THEN hangs. I've closed as many background applications as possible and still get the same problem.

I've been having the problem with as few as two tabs opening. The only time it does not do it is in safe mode. I have cleared my history, turned on the plugins one at a time, and run virus check. With any plugins turned on, it hangs every couple of web pages opened.
When I clicked on post for the above answer, Firefox got hung up for 30 seconds.

Keyboard issue - my late 2010 MBP was working fine until SUDDENLY none of my letters would work - just numbers and a few other keys, and my trackpad would not left click, every click and tap was registered as a right click.

If I reboot, my mouse functions normally UNTIL I hit any of the keyboard keys, then it wont stop right clicking everytime I click.
Some of my keys are acting wierdly - I think 'I' does the TAB function, and J for example acts as the Enter/Return key.
I have opened the keyboard utility thing, and it recognises that I am pressing the keys, but nothing is being typed on my screen.
I have attempted to boot into safe mode, reset PRAM, run AHT but my Macbook simply doesnt want to know, just boots into OS X normally - this is with the built in keyboard and a USB External One.
Its worth noting also that with the USB keyboard, I can type fine - also, if I reboot, my clicks are fine until I hit a key on the inbuilt keyboard, then it starts its right clicking again, however, if I then press a key on the USB keyboard the trackpad is 'reset' and allows me to click normally again.
I have read various other threads but none really the same as mine which *****.

Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.
ALSO if the computer turns on, the reset was done incorrectly

For several weeks, Thunderbird downloads the same emails more than once, back to back. Also when I try to delete messages, "Thunderbird does not respond."

The entire screen whites out when I try to delete or open another email. The margin above the File button shows that "Thunderbird is not responding." Finally, a new window appears in the middle of the screen asking me if I want to close Thunderbird. I am not sure if this problem started when I renewed my McAfee Total Protection program approx. 2 months ago. I also have over 1000 messages saved in both received emails and sent emails. I would like to just highlight a full page of them and delete all messages at once, but this is not possible.
